    Don't underestimate whirlpools. Had an uncle pass at a sadly young age ( just becoming an adult). Drowned in a whirlpool trying to pull his best friend from it. No one knew it was there, and now they are buried in the same coffin with a double head stone due to being unable to separate them without breaking their bones.
    Be safe in any water. But if the water seems to calm more than likely something ain't right.

      Literally one quick google search: With a range of up to 1.7 m (5.6 ft), the tide creates a difference in the water level of up to 1.5 m (4 ft 11 in) between the Inland Sea and the Pacific. Due to the narrowness of the strait, the water rushes through the Naruto channel at a speed of about 13-15 km/h (8-9 mph) four times a day, twice flowing in and twice flowing out. During a spring tide, the speed of the water may reach 20 km/h (12 mph), creating vortices up to 20 m (66 ft) in diameter.". It's speculated that there are massive methane explosions that occur under the sea water of the Bermuda triangle, and that these explosions create such massive (and I mean MASSIVE) whirlpools that have enough size and power to suck in a large boat even a cargo ship. By studying the power of whirlpools just based off the internet, I wouldn't second guess that theory...

    • @DyslecticAttack
      @DyslecticAttack Před 6 měsíci +8

      To be fair, the methane explosions don't even need to form a whirlpool to suck ships under.
      Just a steady bubbling will make ships sink really fast, and well, if the ship is submerged when the water comes in to fill up space it has to be a pretty good ship not to take some damage.
      With big bubbles it's essentially the ship falling on unsteady water, and then being hit by giant waves from all sides.
      And if in those circumstances you also get a whirlpool, then it's at least not aiding in recovering from the situation to say the least.

    • @bztube888
      @bztube888 Před 6 měsíci +2

      Yes, that's not a whirpool, the bubbles (from the metan gas) drops the density of the water, so the boats have to merge deeper. The water basically dissappear under the boat and it's replaced by a water-gas mixture. If there is enough bubble, the water so "gas-like" that the boat can't float in it at all, and it sinks completely. Like this: czcams.com/video/cLdvqXWDcxU/video.html

    • @robertcarter9535
      @robertcarter9535 Před 20 dny

      Speculated?? Sounds like Bermuda triangle conspiracy garbage. According to Lloyds of London, one of the largest Maritime ship insurers in the world. Whirlpools can be big or small, that's true.
    If it's a small one and you are in the comfort of a big ship like this one, you are able to enjoy the spectacle of it (Natural phenomena are always more appreciated when you are safely watching them from a distance)
    That doesn't mean that you are underestimating them or the Sea or Nature in general. If you know how to protect yourself and avoid danger, you don't have to be afraid all the time.
    Edit: People went totally mad in the comments, omg 😅
    It's a tourist attraction. They have studied them for years and concluded they are safe for people to approach them under certain circumstances.
    She's talking about this specific ones, not every whirlpool that ever exists anywhere. Relax, have some herbal tea 🍵😌

    Whirlpools exist in many places, in various sizes, some man made, most are natural. What doesn't exist, as far as we know, are Maelstroms, but theoretically they could exist if someone witnesses a large underwater sinkhole occur in real time, or perhaps even an underwater volcanic eruption.

    • @Smulenify
      @Smulenify Před 6 měsíci

      Maelstroms are real, they just don't look like what they're depicted as in fiction. The original maelstrom is Moskstraumen in Norway, it's the one that was greatly exaggerated by Poe and Verne (as well as a lot of historical reports), but it's real.

    Must admit, those “small currents” sadly have a tendency to be a lot stronger than they look. And in certain places can get rather big, with the ability to literally pull people and even boats to their watery grave. Nice that those ones aren’t too bad tho.
