There's just something about your videos, I live in a flat and don't even have a garden and if I'm honest I hadn't been overly interested in gardening but once we do move into our house it would definitely be something I'd like to dabble in and hopefully teach my daughter a thing or two! Also, when I was at my nail appointment, I actually bonded further with my nail lady because she is a Josie fan too, she is the first person that I've come across who was as enthusiastic about you as I am and I just thought you should know about the positive energy you put in both of our lives 😊 oh and CABLE!
Charlie, eventually you’ll admit Josie was right about the raspberries. I wouldn’t have them comingle with other veggies. You’ll battle the shoots and they will branch out and shade the other plants. I’d remedy this NOW.

Those raspberries are waaaaaaaaay too close! They are major spreaders and need a ton of space. Your bed is going to be taken over by them.

I’m afraid I agree. Those raspberries will shoot up everywhere and become a nightmare to control. They will take over the bed so really need to be placed somewhere separate.
We shifted our raspberries to a huge fruit cage a couple of years ago. Started off with 12 plants and they fill it!
2 Loganberry’s went onto a 2m tall 4m wide frame and again they fill it in a season.
Do get masses of fruit for jamming and eating which is fab.
I’d definitely recommend thinking about a designated area just for soft fruit, the runners can fill the rest of a mixed bed very easily…
Harrod horticulture have some lovely designs for cages etc.

I'm watching the video and I'm screaming to the TV 😅😂😂 Please remove the raspberries from your garden bed. There are way to many next to each other and in two years your grass will be filled with raspberry plants. Believe me, I speak from experience 😅. Put 1 plant in a very large pot. It will save you a lot of time in the garden, because all you will do in the future is removing the raspberry baby's. Loved the video, thank you ☺️❤️🌻🌷

Love your braided hairstyle. You should try a french braid.. it may look somewhat like having your hair in your heatless hair wrap. I agree with the others that have suggested that you have a designated space for the raspberries…they will take over the entire flower bed, similar to how mint spreads. Laura on garden answers gave a great tutorial on her channel about how to prune and tend to raspberries canes. Your garden is beautiful and I’m totally impressed with the size of those carrots 🥕 .
Great content yet again Josie 👏 Regarding your raspberries, I believe summer canes should be planted about 15” apart, autumn ones 23” .. but do refer to the guidance on the plant labels 😊 Cable 💕

I always use the ash from the fire for a slug deterrent. Up here in cold Scotland I'm just starting to sow my sweet peas otherwise they dont come through. We're always a month behind the south. My daffodils are just coming into bud. Love watching your gardening videos, and also all the cooking and travelling ones. Looking forward to the next vlog as always!

The best way to cut an onion safely is in half lengthwise through the root. Peel the outside layers you don’t want and leave the root attached then you slice from top to bottom just not quite to the root now if you slice down towards the route, you’ll get little dices, but the onion will stay together and it’s less dangerous cutting yourself but also much easier.

Oh! That Holland Cooper raincoat is PERFECT!! The hood in particular is exactly what you need if you're wearing a Holland Cooper Newsboy Cap, or if you have long hair, and have it up in a clip or in a bun, often - if my hair is in a bun, or clip, I have to take it down, put it in a low pony tail, and then put my hood up. It's always so obvious when a woman is designing a piece -- the considerations are so appreciated...! Even if there's no 'cable' design on them...;-)

Gardening and cooking, the best!! This old lady ditched CABLE!!
We planted a loganberry around 5 years ago - fabulous fruit for crumbles, jams and smoothies but it spreads and spreads . We now have around 8 sections that spread around 8 foot along a fence - all from one plant! Huge runners that provide the next year's fruit that you then pin up. My advice would be put them along a fence line.
I enjoyed this entire vlog. It is so relaxing to watch. Love the Holland-Cooper cable knits! They all look darling on you!

Anything that requires slow cooking ( after it’s been brought up to the boil) is placed in the simmering oven in the aga eg potatoes,veg,soup,chilli and so much more. Also frying on the floor of the hot oven is more economical.

Unfortunately Charlie will need to accept the raspberries can’t go in the bed - they will spread across the bed (like mint) and once grown will block the sunlight to the rest of the bed - for this reason our raspberry plants are right at the back of our allotment plot providing a screen to the compost heap, and not planted in one of our raised beds but in the ground directly.

Great vlog today. I love all the gardening and cooking pieces. I’m chomping at the bit to get out in my little garden. It’s full of daffs tulips and grape hyacinths that I planted last year. I’ve pruned my roses and some bluebells and some alliums are going well so far. Took the woody stuff off my lavender plants added some more strawberries but Just waiting for compost to arrive to do my first ever veggie patch, plus I’m injured pulling up the mint that has gone mad, ripped my shoulder so bad had to call an ambulance. Pouring of rain in Essex for days it’s so miserable. Also ment to say before you look great in jeans and trousers they really suit you and with your trainers the other day too. Xx
