- In this video I hit the trails with Spirit the Manscape for some snow-wheeling adventures with friends. Spirit battles it out with Andrew's Jeep Wrangler, to see who can impress the ladies the most and get stuck the fewest times. It's a good thing Greg brought his Polaris General out, because things do not go well for Spirit or the Jeep.
That Escape was a beast in the snow! I’m definitely impressed for a small SUV AWD system.
It really is a beast! Although Spirit has a few modifications, like a switch that locks the 4wd on full-time.
@@PaintedSpringsGarage yea, I seen that in one of your last videos. I need to add that modification to my 09 Escape.
That ain’t no escape did you watch the beginning?
Ive got a 2009 GMC Canyon z71 4x4 with a rear locker its a beast. Got a 2.5 inch lift and 31s.
@@PaintedSpringsGaragehow’d you wire the switch?
My wifes awd escape has never been out of the garage on a rainy or snowy day, she doesnt realize how much fun shes missing.😊
first and second gen escapes have become the 2000s cherokee xj
The early Escape never got the credit it deserves.
Nice. I have a 08 limited it handles Oregon snow remarkably well, just don’t get high centered
Oregon snow is intense. The capabilities of these Escapes are underrated.
First thing...take off the lower front end scoop, because the snow will.
Both vehicles would've benefited with better all terrain tires....almost felt awkward watching that Jeep fail the way it did....itis mostly all about the fun and the memories at the end of day though
Trail (er) rated!
How much did it cost to do the conversion
My 2010 XLT V6 2WD is useless in the rain on anything slippery much less mud. Waiting to see what happens with the 2005 fully auto 4x4 XLT V6 I just picked up for winter in the Sierras.
Tires make all the difference. Theres a giid one General Grabber hd for vans and suv
can we get that poor jeep some Hakkapeliitta
Yooo love the car! I have the 2012 4x2 version but I'm debating switch to the largest mother with 4x4 on 2012 as well, it would be that or the ford explorer 2015 4x4... I would appreciate your opinion! Much respect .:
Deciding what car to get totally depends on what you want to do. All I can say is that I love my Escape.
I really need to know, is your awesome escape equipped with an awesome V6 engine?
Yes, it has the 3.0L V6
@@PaintedSpringsGarage Yessss! I’m currently in love with this vehicle and I’m super duper hoping I can get my hands on a decent mileage AWD V6 with a black interior as my first car 😁
Awesome! They are excellent vehicles!
@@PaintedSpringsGarage Yes they are! I’m really hoping there’s a good deal out there for just what I’m looking for, I need to save up big time before I run out of these great deals!
4wd vs hydraulic awd... Yeah idk- if you play on mud and rocks 4x4 =+ If snow and sand (beach and dunes) awd just check rear diff temps and send it
its fun to spin in snow but not the most effective way through Defflike the real comparo
is that all time 4wd?
The transfer case always spins the driveshaft, but I wired a switch to fully engage the coupler for the rear differential. The rear differential coupler has an electromagnet controlled clutch that is always partially engaged by design, but slips easily when there is no power to it. The switch I added essentially sends 12v at 100% duty cycle to the clutch and fully engages the 4WD.
Daft
Fire the interim jeep pilot.
We kinda resorted to manual labor since he (you) pushed vehicles for a while there. Then walked uphill in the snow.
