    The one car Chevy really took pride in building. I just wish they didn't delete the special things about it for later years such as side turn signals, adjustable pedals, and the best thing of all, the awesome speedometer cluster.

      @mikewilson4377 Před 7 lety +1

      Viper Jay 5 I agree, I have the 2012 ltz and don't have any of that.

    • @ViperJay5
      @ViperJay5 Před 6 lety +4

      It's been a little while, but I upgraded my speedometer cluster to the nice glowy gauges. But unfortunately unless you can find someone to reprogram it with the correct mileage, your odometer will remain frozen at whatever is from the donor vehicle. However, you can actually disassemble your cluster and just swap in the black faceplate from the other cluster as the only difference is that there is a translucent background on these clusters from 2008-2009, no special lighting. Just need to use two spoons to remove the needles carefully, and then you can just take out that faceplace and put the other one in, reassemble, reinstall, and enjoy!

      @hakeemsd70m Před 4 lety +2

      @@ViperJay5 the lack of a rear center armrest and the lack of ceiling-mounted "oh snap" handles are also a major detriments for this Malibu.

    • @ViperJay5
      @ViperJay5 Před 4 lety +2

      Haha, I know what you mean by "oh snap" handles. I traded my Malibu in because of transmission issues and bought a 2014 Impala Limited which does have the handles you mention. I believe it also has the rear armrest in which you can put your drinks in as well. The engine is basically the same as the one in this Malibu except it's a few revisions different, I love it. But there are certainly a few more benefits to owning an Impala over a Malibu as far as features go.

    • @hakeemsd70m
      @hakeemsd70m Před 4 lety +1

      @@ViperJay5 Haha definitely. I'm sorry to hear about the transmission troubles you had with you 'Bu, but on the plus side as you indicated, the Impala is a definite upgrade! Our 2012 Malibu seems okay, but I noticed the transmission likes to stay in gears and is very hesitant to upshift in certain situations. According to Consumer Reports, that was a common problem with GM's 6-speed automatic. Back to your Impala, the car is huge yes? How does the seat Comfort compared to your Malibu? In my opinion, the seats in the 08-12 Malibu aren't very comfortable at all for long trips.

    @MrTravis779 You don't get what I'm saying. A system similar to OnStar existed long before OnStar itself.
    And yes, GM did have some innovations. But I don't see how they're even near Mercedes. First cars to have blind spot / lane keeping assist. First cars to have keyless go, first cars to have sat nav, first cars to have air bags, first cars to have adaptive cruise control. First car to have a 'pre safe' system that detects accidents before they happen and breaks by itself.

Also, Kyle's Roadmaster had best in class power back in the day with the LT1 V8 in it and it's seats were designed by orthopedic specialists. They have some gorgeous new cars out right now and have really stepped it up the past few years. I've seen the stats about them being the slowest moving RIGHT NOW but that has got to change. The new Jeep Grand Cherokee is the most awarded SUV on the market today, the 200 is a huge improvement over the Sebring, the Challenger & Charger are beasts, and the 300 is stunning!

    @mhtube01 Před 12 lety

    @StuntDoubleTheatre I hope they do too. I have noticed that Dodge has always had better ratings than the Chrysler brand has and that is weird. For how nice they made the new cars, they had to have made them more reliable. They came out with the new 3.6L Pentastar V6 to replace the terrible 2.7L V6 used in the Sebring. I've read mostly positive reviews about the HEMI V8 so hopefully their reliability will be there unlike before. Honda is my favorite foreign car too, legendary reliability there.

      @@Anonymous-ji4sb A gear band in the 6-speed transmissions on the 3.6 would disintegrate, causing its residue to go into the gears and basically destroy it. However, in 2015 GM did - after many MANY complaints on all models that used this powertrain - offer special coverage to those who experienced this issue. It happened to our 2007 Aura at 66K miles in early 2014. We paid to have the trans rebuilt and then sold it to CarMax, having bought a new 2015 Regal. GM at first paid for half the cost, then later (after the special coverage recall was announced) recompensed us for the other half.

    @ratmtbola example the first electric car mass-produced. It didn't last because times were different. the first V-8 with cylinder deactivation, and OnStar which has been proven to save many lives. And Cadillac was the first to put night Vision, started in 2000. on the Deville. Mercedes started in 2004. and the technology was started by the Military for nighttime combat.

    @StuntDoubleTheatre I've noticed that Chrysler vehicles seem to be so neglected by some owners. It's weird but they seem to be the most common cars that are neglected. It's also weird that Dodge is rated higher since Chrysler makes that brand and they usually share engines. I'd be sold too since I'd love to have a 300C as my next car. I am that impressed with it. If the right people own them and maintain them like they are supposed to, getting them to that mileage shouldn't be a problem.

    The 2nd and 3rd generation Malibu was the best, the current 4th gen isn't so great it lacks a lot, especially rear legroom which is key to a mid-size sedan. The 5th gen that debuted looks more promising.

    @Nebraskahusker23 whether it is cheap or not a ton of people still buy GM. They been around for a long time. Yes, they're in a pretty bad pickle as of right now. Eventually they will make a come back, when? Who knows? Hopefully when things start turning around in this country they may start making better interiors and so on. As for now we can just enjoy what they have to offer. It's just the way it is.

      Have you still been watching and listening?
      From what I understand, english is a difficult language to learn.
      With the subtitles and watching, listening, while reading. That should be, one of the easiest ways for learning another language. It is learning a language, with actual day to day context.
      It’s also good and should be easier, because it is something that you enjoy.
      The fact that you are learning something that includes, reading, listening, and with you practicing the verbal. You are covering most of the learning techniques.
      According to your dialect.
      It might be easier for you to learn, with him being Southern. We speak a little slower down here, in these parts.
      On the other hand, some of the northern states, might be easier to handle, if your dialect is of a quicker pace. I might have that reversed.

    @7477238 I'm going to have to disagree with you on some points. In general, your point stands, but, there have been bright spots:
    1) magnetorheological shocks ( CTS-V and Corvette ZR1 )
    2) the entire Voltec powertrain ( the Chevy Volt )
    3) EcoBoost, no, it isn't new, but Ford is the first to bring it to the masses
    I'm not saying the US auto industry is on the leading edge of technology, but its not like they're are sitting on their asses as you suggest.
