I love how you tell us your thought process as to WHY do you things tactically. No one on youtube does this for Dark and Darker and its the kind of content I want to see more of. I want to THINK like a top 10 player but its hard when no one has high level content like this where they go through their thought process.

Been running this kit with crush sprint jokester most of the wipe- its pretty fun but holy crap if a longbow TOUCHES me it hurts. I tried a True magic version of it and like you said in the vid its kind of udnerwhelming mid fight but the posion damage at 5 arrows is crazy- and its GIGA dumb if you hit them again to refresh it after a few moments.

If you dont have achilles, the ranger forceful shot perk works wonders and it may even be better since it last for 8 seconds and still works even if you miss 1 shot.
I agree, forceful would be better in this build. achiles is better in Trios when you team up on the target.
I also enjoy poison ranger, but I use doublejump/backstep with knockback shot
i wonder if phantomize would be helpful in case you get jumped

Warden outfit chest piece. 60+ armor rating and purple has 5 agility so it's only -5 move speed on the chest piece but you get a lot of armor rating. Adventurer tunic with agility would be more bis tho. Or maybe wander attire with max health rolls. Lmk what yall think.
Imagine you replace robust with crippling shot though. Slow people with leg hits AND apply poison

I do the same build but with golden scarf and the perks I change for fun like crush or barbarian no chest piece perk
i run phantomize/savage/quickfire/jokester instead of achilles/robust/fastreload/quickshot. Completely unkillable w phantom and quickfire replaces both quickshot and the reload perk especially if you run 2x bows, jokester is probably the best ranger perk, especially for magic dmg and attackspeed.
I’ve been thinking ranger has been a good class lately I was running this build getting juiced until I thought ranger+ bard songs and now I’m just going nuts

How good is scalling some will with poison weapons ?
Terrible you can only get poison to tick for 11s maybe 12 with a unique Phoenix choker and that's with stacking 11 additional magic damage you can't give up the 11 true with this build or ull do no damage

@@antoinedacremont3517 Poison has really awful scaling with Will, and 50% scaling with additional/true magic damage - also smite doesn't work on bows unfortunately
I'd probably drop Quick Reload for either Chase or Kinesthesia to help in running other players down.

Wouldn't Crippling Shot be better? Would help you zone people better beyond using Achilies, and you're doubly incentivized to shoot the legs anyway considering most of the damage is True Damage which isn't affected by body multipliers.
I feel like it'd be a better option compared to Quick Reload, which isn't super useful due to how infrequent reloads are on the Survival Bow.
tbh i think the 4 i'm running is the perfect setup, hard to drop any of them. the most droppable one is quick reload but for me i'd rather keep it
@@Repoze Fair deuce then. Can also see the reverse side: you don't really need more zoning pressure if you're move-speed cap, and Quick Reload lets you reload in people's faces.
@@T3DNR3D he started the match with like 90 arrows and left with 8 , and MOST of those arrows were used in PvP, so I'd hardly call that "infrequent reloads" lol
@@Th1sUsernameIsNotTakenand he dropped around 40 of those. Meaning over the entirety of the goblin caves match he reloaded 5 times. Obv you don’t always shoot all 10 before reloading so we will say double that, 10 reloads. Around a reload every minute and a half. Not saying the perk is useless but it especially looses value with the survival bow. Maybe if you were running shotgun.

Sadly DnD already hit its peak. Not going to be possible for someone to be a massive creator from it. Jay is the face of DnD and he doesn’t even get many viewers. Even less if he plays a different game.

Love the video Repoze. I've been a poison weapon fan, but now everyone has iron will and or antimagic. Your likely better off throwing on a different BIS perk
naw its really good in solos specifically. if they have ironwill/antimagic they're missing other perks that would be good vs ranger, tbh ironwill/antimagic combo is only op vs pure magic damage builds (i specified with this build to stack only true phys)
Rock lizard and replace robust with savage if you need more budget
I would take savage instead of quick reload
Try Superior Dexterity instead of Robust, makes u kite so much better that isnt fair.
seconded this, swapping weapons faster makes a huge difference in kiting very noticeable

Perseverance completely counters this build, and it's also a nice perk to have for other reasons. So it probably isn't the best build in the game.

I was the ranger you fought a few days ago with this build that almost killed you. It slaps but it really only benefits with true magic dmg as most classes have a ton of mr now

edit: also, chase is a great perk to run with this cuz no one can pop out on u. u will always see their prints unless theyve been stationary for a long long time
if you arent stacking phys rupture isnt better and chase is just a waste of a perk tbh
@@IceWingL rupture doesn’t stack, it is base 20 physical damage no matter what. Second, chase isn’t a waste for the amount of hide ambush classes right now.

But why poisoned weapon? I mean I do get it I also tried it but poisoned weapon I think does not do enough. You only have 12 will so the only real damage you do is your 2 magic true dmg which is reduced by 50 %. So you max do like what 3 dps more with poisoned weapon? So you manly kill everyone with your normal dmg and poison weapon does not really do much.
To make a Poison bow work probably you would need something else that works on ranged and does magic dmg. Sadly they took smite and blow of curroption away for ranged attacks. And you cant equip a staff/book to buff yourself if you do not want to take weapon mastery.
But you could try that. Take weapon mastery poisoned weapon and 2 bow perks. Then use tripple shot and spell memory as your skills. For the magic take invis, haste, ignite (wizard 50%scaling) and Bloodstained Blade (warlock) and/or Divine Strike(cleric) -> importend would be the ignite to justify stacking magic dmg
Sadly I will not be testing the build. I do not have the time to level a Fighter to 30. But to be fair that would not be poison archer but more like debuff archer.
Just looking at the wiki would'nt Faithfulness ,Divine Strike archer be really strong just because of the -15% movementspeed?

I tried an altered version of this myself. Added Crush from Barb, Jokester and Hide. The idea being that you can dump mobs on people without too much loss. I played around with the build in normals and actually came up against Nouvelle in the ice caves and, from full, got him to use second wind and then down to like 15hp. I made some silly mistakes and I should have played slower but he ended up getting me with a nice crossbow shot with his fighter. I really don't consider myself a great player so it was a highlight for sure and really shows that this build is strong.

For super budget you can Swap a perk for crippling shot and let poison do all the work

@@MEATnPOTATO you get more dmg per hit with true phys dmg than with true magic dmg and poison weapon.
Poison damage in his build is really not necessary, but it's fun.
The 5th hit of ur magic staff is not gonna happen unless ur fighting a boss lol since either u or a player will die before that point is reached also staff is very slow so it takes longer to reach those numbers. Does sound nuts for something like troll/cyclops tho
