Jonny is a light mid-tenor like the weeknd with amazing technique of adding rasp when the song calls for it given that his voice is light and beautiful naturally. I have to say Jeff Buckley has the greatest male voice of all time with songs like "That's All I ask" (live at Olympia) really showcasing the greatness of his voice. I definitely have to say though that Jonny is one of the most emotional male singers I have heard in the last 20 years. I can't listen to either version of ' nicotine armoire' and not be moved by the greatness of his voice.
Jeff Buckley is probably the best male voice I have heard as well as Jimmy Gnecco, but Jonny Craig is definitely up there for me. His singing is nothing short of amazing in the age where so many people rely on studio tricks to sound good.
It’s honestly sad, because even with all the issues and problems he’s had in his life when he’s in the live performing realm he looks so happy and enjoying it. We may never get rock Jonny ever again but I’ll still enjoy R&B Jonny!!
He's bringing the Relativity lineup back under a different name, and also putting out 2 new records as well as a Slaves record this year. It's his comeback.
In all seriousness, I'm so glad Jonny decided to use his voice for the post hardcore scene. He could've easily just gone solo, or sung hip hop, or pop, or jazz, or whatever. But no, he blesses us with his gift, and he's just perfect singing this type of music.
This is how you know that he doesn't do anything to his voice while recording. He is naturally amazing. I love Jonny Craig to the fullest. Forget about his past.
I just found this video and your channel from your upload of The Wonder Years acoustic set in September 2022 and I am now a glass case of emotion. These songs and his voice take me straight back 🥲🥲🥲
Piece it all together now Because I sell myself short every time Oh, how you became my life You took me in before I could back out Well I still have faith It will start again Oh, I still have faith Well I'm about to spend my cold life Cutting corners, placing blame Any moment this could catch fire, Erasing all the stains, so here's to starting over We could be the same, we'll change it all together The future's mine to claim, Claim, mine to claim You can't get out Fear, couldn't place its hands on us my dear My pride has dropped Because I couldn't sell short myself this time String it along Say you'll love me either way Well I'm about to spend my cold life Cutting corners, placing blame Any moment this could catch fire, Erasing all the stains, so here's to starting over We could be the same, we'll change it all together The future's mine to claim Seeing past It's about time I asked for more Watching my life, at the distance we have come While I bled, while I've learned But I always seem to give up on my self (Self, self, self, self) String it along Say you'll love me either way Say you'll love me any way While I'm alone Say you'll love me either way Mine to claim, claim! What a shame, his voice is a gift from God. His darkness comes from many things, but maybe it's also from access to that angelic power. It probably gets to you.
You can see how much of himself he puts into his music which is why he always sounds so amazing live. One of the most naturally gifted vocalists I've ever heard, he gives me shivers. Amazing video.
that rough period is his life. it's one thing to not be perfect and another to do nothing and not feel like you're doing nothing wrong. i believe in people as long as they take responsibility for their mistakes...he doesn't.
I wish people would stop bad mouthing this man. when i met him at Webster hall and everyone left i met johnny and his manager. He bought my friend and i drinks and chatted with us for an hour or so. He's incredible if you get to know him a bit.
2020 in quarantine this is still fire
Insane that your comment is 7 months old and nothing has really changed since then. Who would've thought.

god i cant get over how amazing his voice is and how amazing he was with emarosa. I'd give anything for them to get back together.
+Elgin Coates i'd give anything too. self-titled is everything to me still, 6 years later.

Same. What a legend he is

I wish he could still sing like this 😪
When he makes that rough parts. It's heavenly.
1:21 That subtle vibrato gets me every time
Still my favorite acoustic cover almost 15 years later
I listen to this around 5 times a day, pure talent right here.
i love how he did it so perfect, that even the media detector youtube implemented recognized it as the actual song..
Absolute perfection
I see what you did there lol
I can't imagine my life without Jonny and his voice, I just love him.
Jonny Craig in his fucking prime right here.
I think his prime would be right now because hes sober.
i think his prime was Downtown Battle Mountain, closely followed by Relativity, but this would be third for me
MrWalkwaySc2 was just about to say that, his vocals seem BEASTLY now that he's taking it seriously
Fucking amazing performance, he is so on point right here. gotta love him guys. fuck..
This is how you know that he doesn't do anything to his voice while recording.
He is naturally amazing. I love Jonny Craig to the fullest. Forget about his past.
Ahhhh old memories :-)
This guy needs to come to Albuquerque ...along with DGD of course
Speachless. Only God could give a voice so pure!
His voice is literally every bit as good acoustic and unfiltered as it is in studio. Incredible.
If I had Jonny's voice I would never stop singing.
I just found this video and your channel from your upload of The Wonder Years acoustic set in September 2022 and I am now a glass case of emotion. These songs and his voice take me straight back 🥲🥲🥲
Only Jonny Craig can rock a mullet and make it amazing
i love the lyrics and his voice is just so amazing and fitting
At 54 sec the guitarist makes a funny face after making a mistake lmao.
And Johnny makes a face back a second later :P
damn, he's so young in this video.. I miss the mullet
atuck4L currently growing the hawk mullet like Jonny had back then, these kids don't know what was up 10 years ago
Piece it all together now
Because I sell myself short every time
Oh, how you became my life
You took me in before I could back out

Cutting corners, placing blame
Any moment this could catch fire,
Erasing all the stains, so here's to starting over
We could be the same, we'll change it all together
The future's mine to claim,
Claim, mine to claim
You can't get out
Fear, couldn't place its hands on us my dear
My pride has dropped
Because I couldn't sell short myself this time
String it along
Say you'll love me either way
Well I'm about to spend my cold life
Cutting corners, placing blame
Any moment this could catch fire,
Erasing all the stains, so here's to starting over
We could be the same, we'll change it all together
The future's mine to claim
Seeing past
It's about time I asked for more
Watching my life, at the distance we have come
While I bled, while I've learned
But I always seem to give up on my self
(Self, self, self, self)
String it along
Say you'll love me either way
Say you'll love me any way
While I'm alone
Say you'll love me either way
Mine to claim, claim!
Well I'm about to spend my cold life
Cutting corners, placing blame
Any moment this could catch fire,
Erasing all the stains, so here's to starting over
We could be the same, we'll change it all together
The future's mine to claim...

this is the best music to listen to. it is absolutely amazing.
I get chills everytime I listen to him sing...
Jonny Craig and Tyler Carter both chill me to the bone with how amazing of a voice they both have ( just throwing Tyler in my feels)
Tyler is a beast as well. My favorite lead singers on this genre are Jonny by far, followed by Tillian and Tyler.
His voice... oh my god. gives me chills. he's flawless.
You can see how much of himself he puts into his music which is why he always sounds so amazing live. One of the most naturally gifted vocalists I've ever heard, he gives me shivers.
Amazing video.

Jonny's voice heals. Simple is that. ER and Jonas are the Dynamic Acoustic Duo.
