James! I'm super proud of you! Many UK resellers are scared of selling books because of the big media sellers you have like world of books. I really think that bundles are the way to go for the UK sellers. You absolutely smashed this out. I know you were listing up to 50-60 book listings a day on eBay which is hard work. You dedicated your time to getting through this haul as fast as you could and you stopped sourcing at the car boots while you dealt with this. This is a prime example of how a big haul should be handled. Congratulations on all your sales and opening yourself up to a whole new genre to consider making profits from. As well as that, I know you learnt a lot about the benefits of niching on a single category and how that effected all your working systems. Just found your channel via my playlist but I also subscribe to Mel and I think she may have mentioned your haul. I have about the same number of books to sell but mine have been accumulated over 40 years and the results of running a book stall at book fairs for a number of years. I have also a houseful of other stuff, pottery etc. to sell now that I have retired but it is the books and other ephemera that I really enjoy dealing with. Best of luck with your channel.
Thanks Mick very kind words. I have really enjoyed processing the books and they are still performing well here in the UK. I did wonder now with everything available digitally it would be slow to move these but I guess nothing beats that physical feel of holding a book 😀
Great video, Mel is amazing and bundles seem to work for her the books seem time consuming but you have got to remember you have made more money than some people work for a whole month for and the biggest plus I find working for myself is there is no one telling you what to do, If you want to get rid of the ones you can't shift there is always the option of selling them as a bulk lot on ebay specially if you are already in good profit and what's left owes you nothing

@@boldfinds I don't have much interest in books and Love her channel so 100%. Just picked up a Lot of 80 Dungeon & Dragon Hardcover books for $20 (He was ready to throw them in the bin) Listed them for over $3000 total! Lots of money in books
Wow what a find! Well done on that I wouldn’t have looked at that kind of thing before. This bundle was in amazing condition which helped make my decision easier and when they are 10p a book it’s hard to make a mistake. I sold a Steven king alone for £70 but most are bundles and I sell on average 5-6 bundles every day at the moment along with all my other tat 😂
I usually just scroll by the book shelfs Then I noticed wizards of the coast and decided to look one of them up, $90 on eBay wow. My last video is about the deal if you want to see it, sorry if you don't want me promoting I don't mean to be rude.
James - great news re the profit on the books. I like selling them too. Best profit was 50p into £50 for a V&A textile book. I have also had good results from music/songbooks which I can source for 50p each too.

Fair play to you. Not only would it be hard to sell 4000 books it is the space it would take up as well. We have 2x40ft storage units and would still struggle to store them.
I see! So the way to go, to resell lots of books, is in bundles! 🙂👍 (This would especially apply, no doubt, to a large haul of mainly fiction bestsellers. (How much was your average price per bundle?)) But surely more specialist, nonfiction books would have to be sold individually. I was thinking: Would it be good to do bundles of books on a specific subject, which has a wide appeal? Like, bundles of cookbooks? Celebrity biographies? Sports? 🙂
Yes bundles are for me the best way. Sold a few rare books on own but 95% of this haul was bundled. I found doing author is the best way. I would say I have no sold 50% off the bundle so far and average bundle price is around £18
I got a crazy haul of about 400x books for FREE or Facebook - some books were ‘expensive’ such as a bird book that sold for £20 second hand. But I took them all to a Carboot and made about £40 but I struggled to sell them QUICKLY and the storage was ridiculous- I ended up donating over half of them because it was too much at the time.

Hi James, that is an excellent achievement which must have involved a lot of hard work. Do you pay yourself a salary for the time expended on Travelling/ listing/posting etc, or just pour the profits back into the business?
Hi John, Thanks for watching! I pay myself monthly just enough to pay the bills and mortgage and to leave me with some social money but the rest goes into the business investing in new stock. I must admit when I have a slow month the pursestrings get a little tighter but it just means more sales in the store in increase things :-)
It was just a huge bulk lot from a house clearance man. I saw 3 pictures so took the risk a little on it. No I don’t do FBA but might be something I add in the future
You can buy postage through eBay via different couriers. I weigh the item to establish what label I need to purchase based on weight. You get to know roughly how much will cost to post before listing with experience
The worst hit was loading and unloading into the van to be honest. I honestly didn’t realise what 4000 books would actually look like though 😂 thanks for watching 😊
