The TVS Raider starts from Rs 77,500 for the front drum brake-equipped variant and Rs 85,469 for the front disc brake-equipped version (both ex-showroom Delhi). The motorcycle is available in four colours: Striking Red, Blazing Blue, Wicked Black and Fiery Yellow.
TVS has equipped the Raider with a fully digital instrument cluster that shows the real time mileage, range, gear position with gear shift indicator, helmet reminder, Eco and Power modes indicator, three trip meters, odometer, clock, top speed and average speed recorder, and fuel gauge. There’s also an optional 5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity. This packs useful features such as turn-by-turn navigation, voice assist, bike documents display, to name a few. Its pricing will be announced later.
Other notable features include an all-LED headlamp with uniquely shaped DRLs, a LED tail lamp, bulb indicators, optional USB charging port, CBS, and a standard underseat storage.
The TVS Raider is powered by an all-new 124.8cc single-cylinder air-cooled, three-valve, fuel-injected engine. It makes 11.38PS at 7500rpm and 11.2Nm at 6000rpm, and is paired to a 5-speed transmission. The engine is also enhanced with TVS’ patented oil-cooled combustion chamber with an internal oil cooler. TVS claims the bike can return a mileage of 67kmpl, which is quite good enough for this segment.
The TVS Raider 125 comes with two riding modes: Eco and Power. There’s a 3 percent drop in performance in the Eco mode, but the mileage increases by a claimed 3 percent. Switching to Power mode provides a claimed 10 percent higher top speed. Additionally, the acceleration from 0-60kmph is also quicker by 0.4 seconds.
The TVS Raider employs a telescopic front fork and a 5-step preload adjustable gas-charged monoshock at the rear. Braking is via a 240mm petal disc up front and a 130mm drum unit at the rear. TVS also offers a front drum brake-equipped variant at a lower price point. The motorcycle rolls on 17-inch alloys shod with TVS Remora tyres measuring 80-section at the front and 100-section at the rear.
The TVS Raider features a 10-litre fuel tank, and the seat is 780mm tall. At 123kg kerb, the Raider is fairly light for its segment.
The TVS Raider competes with the Honda SP 125, Hero Glamour Xtec and more premium offerings like the Bajaj Pulsar NS125. Other alternatives in its price bracket include the Bajaj Pulsar 125, Ktm Duke 125.
