Russell’s performances of this song in 2017 were absolutely incredible. He put his whole heart and soul into this song, and sang it with such heartfelt feeling and passion. What a phenomenal voice too, the highs and lows, the note at the end. You can really feel the emotion in every note he sings. It always brings tears to my eyes when I watch his performance here and especially the last one in Columbus. Those performances that year are the most heartfelt performances I’ve heard of that song since Daryl Pediford sang it.
