Ben and Lois take a scenic walk up Pen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons, Wales - some steep cliffs and beautiful scenery and the obligatory cuppa! The Store: benandloisorfor...
Hi Ben & Lois, our Buffy hats arrived! They are perfect, so comfortable and look great too. About 34 years ago as a boy soldier we went up Pen y Fan, twice. It was a complete white out (December) the first time which is why the second. The second time when that section with the big drop was pointed out to me, (not a big fan of heights) and seeing how blind I was the first day definitely gave me jolt. Looks like you had a great day, great post!
Glad you both enjoyed the walk it is on my doorstep (30 mins) i have walked it a number of times from different directions and it is always breath taking. Best wishes (KB Wales)
Beautiful Wales 🏴 countryside and great views, ThankYou! My maternal great grandparents came from Wales to America in the early 1800s. Have Always yearned to visit there and learn more of my roots. The stone path you’ve traveled looks as though it was laid down many many years ago. Do you know its history?
Hi Ben & Lois. Ben I feel your pain. My wife signed us up for a charity walk a few years ago. 50km's in one day! (54km's in total). Pen y fan was about midway on our walk so you can imagine how we felt looking up to the summit already tired from the distance we covered. My knees took a pounding on the way down the mountain. Anyway we completed it and is was for charity. Great video, its inspired me to do some more walking. Keep up the great content. Cheers Seamus
Good to hear you enjoyed the Beacons. They're on my doorstep (40 min drive). My first visit there was way back in the mid-eighties. Been there in all weathers -37C with wind chill and 2 feet of snow to scorching hot summer days. Take good care both of you.
I live in the USA, have two M8 across the pond one is Fog360 the other is Chris Caine, they have given me Skype tours of The Beacons & Dartmoor! Thank you......ATB
nice video! i’m walking up pen y fan for the first time in september with my grandad whose been in both world wars and was part of the sas and i’m so excited to do it! it’s a yearly thing we do, that i’m gonna start doing yearly aswell after we do the walk in september!
Hope you get to do it with your grandad. Should be a great day. Ask him if he knows Terry Jickells my father (A Squadron). Him and Lofty Wiseman used to run selection together. He may know because of the era. Peace. Mark
Ben, tell Lois getting a map out when you think it's calm will always cause the wind to blow a bit. Getting the map out when it's blowing a bit means someone else will find the map somewhere downwind a month or so later. Sandy
Sorry Bryan they latest batch came in at the beginning of the week and sold pretty fast. Drop me a email and I can put you on the waiting list. Many thanks cheers Ben
Always wanted to go but cant convince the family to go. One day hopefully. Ben your trousers look really comfy do you mind me asking what they are? Thank you for a lovely video. So good to see you getting out and about.
Was there as a young man.... great place but not fond memories at the time! Great footage brother! Hope your both well and having a great weekend! Best wishes 👍🏽👍🏽👌🏽😎

Never been up Pen Y Fan but like so many other places, it’s on my list. Great journey up there so thanks for taking us up with you. ATB Andy
What a wonderful way to spend your day 😀
The horseshoe loop is my favourite route there. You also pan over one of my favourite wild camp spots. Can’t believe how quiet it was. You were lucky!

Love going up there always seems to be wet though! When you're up there and the fog comes down you cannot see those cliff edges!
Brilliant both. It's sure is wonderful when you get to do something you've always pondered. How many times past Pen Y Fan? A nice day for it to. Mark
When will a new batch of the hats be coming in ? Most of the colors I like in the beanie design are out of stock. Thank you

Good video but should have got the pronounciation right. Pen y Fan is a Welsh name.
Nice sandwich!! ;)
Pen er van. Just learn how to say it.
