I'm an OLD guy, 73, been around a while, listened to countless great bands, all genres, rock, blues, jazz, international folk, gospel, and all forms of metal. I grew up with early rock n roll, Elvis, Chuck Berry, Beatles, Rolling Stones, saw Hendrix, Cream, Santana, Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, live, and multiple blues legends, like Buddy Guy, Albert King, later, SRV, Gary Moore. All were great, but none, including the greats of metal, compare with Lovebites in my opinions. Lovebites is astonishing, beyond belief to me, best band of all time, not just metal, all genres.
My insatiable thirst for this band is an ever increasing addition. I'm a Vampire that craves only the finest, most purest of blood....Only Lovebites can keep my thirst at bay and my mind in a state of satisfaction. 🐺🤘

@@paulread4886 Gotta say as a metal fanatic I'm in awe of the music Japan is producing. Lovebites have stolen my soul, followed by Unlucky Morpheus who have an incredible back catalogue.
IMHO, two of the best showcase tunes in Lovebite's incredible catalog. This might have been your 1st time with both songs, but I react the same way each and every time. All I do at the end is just shake my head. Tier 1 talent and the passion that goes with that talent. Thanks for a great reaction.

Thanks for a captivaiting and engaging reaction i was "bitten" by this band 2 years ago and can´t stop listening to them, they are FANTASTIC. You have much to listen at. I has not heard one bad song of all they have produced. If you would like to hear their "trash side" listen to AWAKENING/HAMMER OF WRATH. From the same concert but after a break, intro and build up is out of this world. Keep up the good work. Love from Sweden.

The vocalist, Asami, danced ballet for over a decade, before her singing career. Also studied Jazz & Hip Hop dance in USA right after high school, for 2 years. She also wrote the lyrics to both these songs, and the music to "A Frozen Serenade" in collaboration with friend, Mao.
What Miyako is doing during that solo is string bending. Players will use 1/2 step and whole step bends to create a different feel and phrasing. As you can tell Miyako uses it very effectively. The really high pitch squeals you hear sometimes in Lovebite's music is called a pinch harmonic, that is a guitar technique normally done with the thumb on the picking hand slightly catching the string. It's a technique that Midori and Miyako are really good at, like everything else. 🐺

Two epic masterpieces right there. Those are two of their best songs, including my favorite in A Frozen Serenade. That solo by Midori at the end gives me goose bumps every time, even after 50+ listens.

LOVEBITES is simply on another level. They are #1. Perfect blend of beautiful and heavy. The songwriting is top-tier. Their live shows are spectacular. They must do a world tour as soon as possible. Everybody LOVES them. They have the potential to be the next Iron Maiden. I hope their new bass player is ready for all this!

Please think about "Journey To The Other Side". A brilliant song, that Miho & Miyako wrote about the passing of Miho's father. Asami sings it to the heavens with such reverence out of respect. There is a part near the end of the song, with Asami & Miho, where even I need a tissue every time I see it. So be prepared.

What else can I say about Lovebites? I discovered this band two years ago and I’m still in owe. These women are extremely talented, skillful and versatile exceptional musicians. Some people wonder if they are aware of how good they are. Others say that they are redefining metal or that they are breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene.

Yes, I enjoyed joining you in enjoying LOVEBITES together. Thanks for the double-song reaction. You have much to explore with them, about 45 more songs, in a wide variety of Metal styles. After 'Holy War', 'Raise Some Hell', 'A Frozen Serenade' and 'Edge Of The World', I'd say, any song will be very different from what you've heard. Equally impressive in all instances.
Similarities are, unsurpassed musicianship, composition, lyrics & arrangements,
and a guitar solo each from Midori & Miyako, with a harmony-duet on all but a few songs.

Beautiful and talented and expert musicians! Asami, the lead singer used to be a ballerina and the guitarist on the piano studied classical music from age 3. Japan has some of the most talented musicians of anywhere in the world!
Absolutely incredible performances. Best true metal band on the planet. Old school style with modern feel. Band-Maid, Nemophila and Lovebites are my top 3.

@@COTTERO you are so hilarious, they both are excellent bands but there is more sophistication and class within the realms of classical infused in metal and only done by one band when it comes to Lovebites. If I only had the choice between two bands like unlucky morpheous and Mardelas I'd pick Mardelas by a long shot, since Lovebites is kicking everyone's butt what can I say
