    Hi Sun Young! I just happened to stumble across your video. I’m also a Korean adoptee who has a couple daughters of mixed heritage (Korean/Caucasian). I really enjoyed your video, so thank you for sharing your story! I’m one of the few Korean adoptees who has been reunited with my birth family. If you and your father are still interested in trying to find some information or just doing a birth family search in general, I have some resources for you guys. Oh btw I’m also in the central plains, South Dakota to be exact...small world right lol

    Interesting perspective. I'm glad you are taking the time in getting to understand your culture, language, and etc. Fellow Korean adoptee here!

    would you make a video about how your dad met and got to marry your mom?

    • @Halfaamazing
      @Halfaamazing  Před 5 lety +1

      That would be a fun video, but I would have to check and make sure my parents were comfortable. Maybe when I go back home I can do some kind of interview type thing! Thanks for the recommendation!

    You're right, this is the first video I've seen from an adoptee's child's perspective! Thanks for uploading :)

    I hope my daughter or son will talk about me as good as this CZcamsr about her father. I am actually also adopted

    life is so weird . i actually was close to becoming adoptee too. My biological father abandoned my mom and me 3 decades ago as soon as i was born. Everybody told mom to send me to America but she ended up raising me by herself here in korea otherwise, i should've been here to find my biological mother by now without knowing how to speak a single word of korean.

      I'm so intrigued! I'm a KAD (Korean ADoptee). So many of us are told how hard our lives would've been if we were the child of a single mother.

    I've been looking for information about this. My sons father is a filipino adoptee, and my son is really curious already. It's so hard to find anything about the children of adoptees

    • @Halfaamazing

      I totally agree. I wish there was more resources for people like us

    • @LinnieAlexis

      @@Halfaamazing yeah, it sucks. His father is absent too, so there is no way to get any information. The second generation adoptees should have had more rights.

    • @Halfaamazing
      @Halfaamazing  Před 5 lety +1

      @@LinnieAlexis I honestly couldn't agree more about that. We should have a right to know about our own ethnic backgrounds, lost family members, etc!

    Weird that your grandparents don't have a copy of the adoption papers. My parents have a copy of mine.
    Also, mine went the reverse way ie my Korean relatives wanted to find me. Maybe you can get the adoption agency to pass along your info to his birth family. (I think my relatives went to Korean social services who contacted the adoption agency who contacted my parents).

      Yeah, I don't really fully understand how everything went down either. I would like to do that, I'll just probably have to find the opportunity to do so!

    Very sweet. I was abandoned at 4 years old in a Los Angeles motel. Me and my wife also have a daughter (only child) roughly your age so this really warmed my heart. Good luck in all of life’s journeys 😎👍🏻

    한국에서 혈육을 꼭 찾게 되시길 바라고,
    우리나라의 건물, 거리, 차량등에 장애인을 위해 개선할 점등에 대한 동영상도 만들어 주시면 어떤가요?
    미국을 비롯한 다른 나라와 어떻게 다른지 궁금합니다.
    동영상 모두 재밌게 잘 보고 있습니다. 화이팅!!

    If you are in Seoul try to DNA test at the police station...perhaps one of your father's family tried to look for him and left their DNA. You can also DNA test using a FTDNA kit from KoRoot in Seoul.

    In what year was he abandoned? And in what year was he adopted exactly? Because, in the eighties they had a polio vaccine in Korea. It is unusual that your father was not given that vaccine. If he was born in the 60s, that would be a different story.

    • @Halfaamazing
      @Halfaamazing  Před 5 lety

      I'm not really sure about the details of that. He has an estimated birth date at best, so we honestly really can't be sure! I don't know if he couldn't get the vaccine because his family couldn't afford it or if it was because it wasn't available
