Fantastico tributo di un grandissimo pilota che un destino beffardo ci ha portato via troppo presto.
Noi amiamo così tanto questo sport che la paura della morte viene oscurata dalla voglia di correre...e di vincere!!! quando indossiamo il casco tutto cambia...io amo con tutto il mio cuore questo fantastico sport e niente e nessuno potrà impedirmi di correre...

There is a way in which hill climb the way Lionel Regal practiced the art is the last real remnant of racing the way it once was, racing for th sake of the racing, not just to get rich or famous or to act as a corporate billboard. Ernest Hemmingway was once asked his view of sports, and he said "the only real sports are bull fighting, mountain climbing and auto racing...all the rest are just games." Real sport at the highest level involves real risk. Lionel Regal was a sportsman, a great one.
Einer der besten Bergrennfahrer weilt nun nicht mehr unter uns, ich durfte ihn noch life in Mickhausen erleben, er konnte fahren wie kein anderer auch als Mensch war er ein netter Mensch der immer für ein Foto gut war, auch wenn es mal nicht so lief wie er es sich vorgestellt hat. Machs gut wir werden dich immer in Erinnerung behalten.

10 years passed since we lost this amazing driver.Glad i had a chance to see him race.There are very few like him.

I can't believe hes gone, we all thought he was invincible! now he will get to see hes dad in hillclimb heaven. Don't forget, lionel's father mark regal died in an F3000 aswell when lio was young (I think it was one of the firsts F3000's on a hillclimb) to be confirmed.
Marc Regal passed away in 1997, when Lionel was 24 years old. Lionel then started racing the next season and even won his first race.
Schade um diesen Ausnahme Rennfahrer! Er war einer der besten Bergrennfahrer unserer Zeit! Ruhe in Frieden Lionel Regal! :´(

Sehr schöne Aufnahmen. Hab ihn in Mickhausen gesehen. Bei der Rückführung hielt er seinen Boliden an, stieg aus und verneigte sich vor dem Publikum. In St. Ursanne, der vielleicht schwierigsten, schnellsten und gefählichsten Bergrennstrecke starb er. Ein Vollblutrennfahrer: In einer Liga mit Fahrern wie Jo Siffert, Jochen Rindt oder Lorenzo Bandini. RIP!
@FraeuleinLieblos Er hat seine Leidenschaft für diesen Sport gelebt und mit dem Leben bezahlt. Hab ihn in Mickhausen gesehen. Bei der Rückführung stieg er am Streckenabschnitt "Antonius Buche" aus seinem Boliden und verneigte sich vor den Zuschauern. Das war ein besonderer Moment. Er hat mit seinem Fahrstil, seinem tollen Boliden und seiner bescheidenen Art sicher vielen Menschen eine Freude gemacht. In den Gedanken seiner Fans lebt er weiter.

Lionel Régal était sans aucun doute le meilleur pilote de course de côte Français... Malheureusement son départ rapelle également les dangers du sport automobile...
