- “Ye dil aur unki nigahon ke saaye” is a song from 1973 Hindi film ‘Prem Parbat’. It is believed that the print of the film got destroyed over time and hence the film and its songs are unable to be viewed. The song is here played back on the scenes of Madhumati (1958), primarily consisting scenes from the song “Aaja re pardesi”. Both the songs share many similarities between them which makes this superimposition attempt quite real. The soothing music by Jaidev, amazing lyrics by Jan Nisar Akhtar and the haunting voice of Lata Mangeshkar are just breathtaking.

Film Prem Parbat (1973) had wonderful music by Jaidev.Its lyricist was the legendary poet,Jaan Nisar Akhtar who was father of today's famous poet Javed Akhtar.
Unfortunately, no print of this film is available.Only the audio of its most famous song by Lata Mangeshkar is available.
The producer of this video very cleverly used the audio of Film Prem Parbat and video of Film Madhumati (1958) to create this video.
To enjoy the audio of this song the best way, please use headphone of very good quality.Lata Mangeshkar's recording of this song is its soul.Hari Prasad Chaurasia's flute recital is simply superb.The use of a pitcher as percussion instrument instead of Tabla or dholak is another beauty of this song !Shiv Kumar Sharma's brilliant Santoor play is another chief attraction of this video.

Jaidev's music and Lata Mangeshkar's recording this song was its outstanding crown in the jewel.Poet Jaan Nisar Akhtar's compiling this song was also this song's chief attraction.

In my college days, when we were in the hostel room, this song would play somewhere in the distance on a loudspeaker. It was very pleasant to listen to this song in the night after 10 pm, especially in the months of June, July, and August, under the moon light. The song, as sweet as honey, would melt our hearts, while the music, like a gentle breeze, would caress our souls. Together, they would transport us to a world of pure bliss, where time stood still and all our worries melted away.
Many years have passed, but the memory of that song still fills me with joy. I often close my eyes and imagine myself back in the hostel room, surrounded by my friends, listening to that enchanting melody. It takes me back to a time of innocence and happiness, a time when life was simple and full of wonder.
I know that those days will never come again, but I am grateful for the memories I have. They are a precious treasure that I will cherish forever. And whenever I feel sad or lost, I just need to think of that song and I am instantly transported back to that magical time in my life.
Thank you, the singers and music director for creating such a beautiful song. You have touched the lives of countless people, and your music will continue to bring joy for generations to come.
