My daughter childhood dog died when she was 24yo….he was a beagle basset hound mix and this dog was something else! We had him for almost 10yrs before he barked or howled! He shared his cage and food with the kittens always. No growl or huffs. He was about 9when we found him at my parents and she was 7yo. Yeah do the math y’all! He was old as Mathusala. We had a 9yo dog for another 14yrs! And we had to put him down because his kidneys and liver were failing and he couldn’t even walk anymore. He was suffering so badly. But she held him until well after he was gone and just cried! We brought him to my parents and buried him in my daughters toddler bed flower bed in the front yard. She stops and says hi to him every time she is there. Weird thing is that her new dog stops and whines at the bed every time like she’s sad she never got to know him. I miss the old man! I’m crying as I type this!😢😢. He was a great dog and well loved.

It’s terrible. I lost my dog 3 weeks ago and it was very violent death. He was my best friend and my mental health support. I feel lost without him.
