As Pathetic as Itsuki & his party is, they've got no business calling Rishia weak & useless, considering she helped Naofumi in the final battle against Glass in Season 1.
They actually kind of do. Rishia is a special case of sorts where she has stats that are way too low for her level but that will exponentially increase the more she levels up. She also has the talent that the old lady mentioned in the 1st chapter of this new season so she isn't bad.
Tho her current weakness is in big part thanks to Itsuki.
IIRC that was part of the reason she was kicked out. They were unhappy about her helping Naofumi "steal" the limelight. Of course they couldn't actually say that so they just used a different excuse.
i say it once and i say it again fuck the bow here. kick him in front of a bus 25 no 26 times. i will only tolerate him once his cursed item shows up and then maybe and that's huge MAYBE I like him and the same goes for the spear hero. Sword I kind of like because at least he didn't jump to "something wrong in my perfect world, must be Naofumi's fault" right away and when he does he goes "I'm sorry" he learned but he still an asshole
She is weak Naofumi even says she is since her base that at just a little better then you average human in that world also she is Excellent at magic an just the old lady special Martial Art which use Life Energy but since she so shy an unconfident that those talents are wasted oh her

After watching the first episode of the second season, and binge reading the manga, I am disappointed how much cut content were there. I expected an hour opening episode again, setting the pa e for the rest of the season, but instead we got the exact opposite of a long content filled and reasonably paced episode.

Might be an exaggeration on my part, but it does felt that way when I watched it

From what I remember in the manga, Rishia's introduction was a lot more fleshed out, there was a short training arc, and and also some action in a certain villiage. It warms up the plot for the spirit tortoise arc so to speak. I agree with the other guy, it would have been a great first episode if they spent an hour setting up the following arc.
I'm sure the light novel has even more cut content, I haven't gotten that far yet.
If you all like the second season, and manga of the anime your gonna like it even more if you read the light novel. The light novels are full of details that was cut from the anime and the manga.

Watching the break down of trust for Naofumi a second time was the best writing I’ve seen, but also a huge gut punch too. And I’m always down to rewatch if you want to adjust somthing

Firstly, I want to say that I enjoy and appreciate your cut content videos as it really adds context to anime I like to watch. That being the case, I have watched the first episode and I have to say that how it started did throw me for a loop as I thought we would have gotten at least an episode or 2 with Naofumi and his party building and managing his new lands as Melty is just referenced in a flashback with no speaking lines.
I expected that we would have gotten more from Rishia's story as in season one, the anime says she was kicked out after being framed for breaking something, then then season two has Itsuki changed the reason to her being too weak.
I was pissed with the other three heroes when they walked out of the meeting simply for the fact it wasn't wave related, but then I recalled that when they were summoned, one of the first things they asked was how they were being compensated for their work as heroes, so them not being interesting unless they get something is well within their characters.
It also seemed like Naofumi and the Queen have gotten close enough to play games as at this point, she knows he would have gone simply because it was the right thing to do, but she still throws in that if he doesn't-his lands would be the first in the kingdom to go and Naofumi seemed to catch on to that, but likes the queen doing it as her shrewd deal making skills is a quality of hers he likes.
Spoilers:
I have not watched the first episode yet, but I'm cough up to volume 22 of the LN.
In the LN, Naofumi doesn't even get his land (lurolona Village) until volume 10 so... that's after the spirit tortoise and the trip to the other side. There is a ton of info and characters that show up when Naofumi tries to populate his new village, and the anime kinda makes it weird by giving him land this early. (my guess is that because the end of the anime would have just been small stuff due to the changing of arks. they had to put some HYPE for season 2!! so the anime gave him the land early and as a "new adventure" kinda feel to help boost the want for a season 2)
Rishia's story goes way back to when Naofumi was still peddling potions & goods... anyways to clarify for you, Itsuki and his group thinks Rishia is weak because she can't fight very well on the front lines with her low stats. she is more of an academic and not a sword fighter/vanguard, and she doesn't bloom until high levels. Since Itsuki is a ranged, he wanted more front line fighter. so he made Rishia take up a sword and totally ignored her back line fighting/supporting ability. With her meek demeanor and love for Itsuki, it was hard for the group to kick her out of the party for being so weak. After Rishia help with the rucolu fruit bomb barrels during the wave, Itsuki and his party frame Rishia for breaking a bracelet, to finally get Rishia kicked out of the party. thus Rishia attempts suicide for being useless to Itsuki. (she is saved by Filo) The framing was them trying to be "nice" and not just call her weak to her face and kick her out.. it's twisted logic... but Rishia pops off after joining Naofumi, even during the spirit tortoise fight.
The 4 heroes do a bit of training before the tortoise fight, but the only one to take it seriously is Naofumi and his party. the other 3 heroes bail and think it's a waste of time... game knowledge and all that bs... the fall from grace is soon enough and they don't get fix by Naofumi until volume 11 and it take another 4 volumes to fix everyone....
If the queen is trying to take his land, that's an anime only thing. Naofumi doesn't get land until after the spirit tortoise fight so... the main reason Naofumi tries to put up with the other heroes is because of Fitoria.. but yes the Queen and Naofumi get along quite well, with the help of Melty, Naofumi understands the Queen and all her efforts

the reason stated by the scythe hero was to save his world the shield hero's world must fall. The shield hero was asked to make a decision about what is most important to him. The land or its people. leads me to believe that one day all the resents of the land will need to migrate to the scythe heroes. And give up ther land for both their wolds people to be safe.

I liked the episode I did end up reading the ln and got all the way past what I think season 3 is going to be and I did notice the lack of training and the lack of the new member background but I can see them doing short flashback when the info will become needed instead of repeating the Info in the ln and it is weird that they had the shield hero becoming the lord of that land and I dont think they are going to do much with that topic until he was actually expost to do that in volume 10 but I know the anime is good and they can change up some things as long as it doesn't flush out any character development in the future I think it will end up great
The spirit tortoise seems like serious business, and the other 3 heroes are in need of humility. I’m scared for them and their parties.

Watched episode 1of 2 was interesting. I liked it. Saw it yesterday
I an not a manga reader, one of the reasons I'm glad i found this channel as I was always aware not everything from the source material gets animated and i always had that curiosity off what was cut out. But even so i can tell when an episode feels rushed af and S2ep1 of Shield Hero was just that or at least it felt that way to me. Luckily the following episodes have slowed down a bit but that 1st ep left me disappointed and afraid off what was to come. Glad the worst didn't happen (or hasn't happened)

The sad part about shield hero is that it started out so strong then gradually gone to shit. The author ran out of steam/ideas later and it really shows. It just ends up as your generic edgy power fantasy isekai.

Question why the red hair guy and his partner were in the continent before the wave started at the end of season 1? They were there before time and even partied to level up with the MC.
Probably they were brought here together with Glass at episode 11 and then the two maybe decided to separate from glass to investigate this world and it's heroes.
Maybe they weren't brought together with glass too cuz Fitoria said that the waves are happening all over the world and maybe Larc and Therese were brought in a different location.

Basically Manga and Anime is attuned to the published Light Novel which is completely different from the Web Novel
Naofumi might not need the other 3 Heroes at all if he gets enough trusted party members to join (Slave Pacts or Not) & he trains them the same way he did.
the slave pacts are part of the reason their so strong in the first place thou.

This season of shield hero really needs a cut content episode because time is just flying by in episode 1 and 2 like I'm not a light novel reader nor a manga reader it kinda sucks now

Of note to me is that this first episode didn't seem to have any visual upgrades from last season. I want to assume they are saving their budget for the big battles, but so far I'm not impressed. There wasn't a dip in quality per se, but most anime give the first episode extra budget to draw people in, and this is did not.
Rishia, Raphtalia and Filo are the three best anime girls of The Rising of the Shield Hero.

Spoilers for both S2 and possibly S3
From what I had seen of the opening, and what I know of so far from the light novels is that The other world arc is going to either happen at the end of S2 or just have S3 all on its own. Tbh that arc was what i liked the most and if this season is going to be rushed through 12-13 episodes compared to last season, Either the spirit tortoise arc is going to be very fast or both the first and second fight (and everything that happened in-between) is going to be spread amongst S2. I really hope its the latter because the other world arc with Kizuna and co was honestly one of my favorites. After that would be the rebuilding arc around Raphtalia's village which puts emphasis on the redemption of the heroes and the inclusion of the orca lady (I forgot her name but *hot*). I just hope the anime will do the light novel some justice here. Cause all of Season 1 was through 5 light novels and became 25 episodes, while the next Five light novels include the spirit tortoise arc and then the other world. (Side note: I have no knowledge on how the manga deviates from the LN.)
Welp we know now that the seasons finished with the other world arc. I’m pretty disappointed with how rushed the other world arc felt as there was lots of stuff that was skipped such as the other training arc they had in the other world where Naofumi gets taught magic by Terese.
As with the LN and manga, they’re pretty similar to each other though the LN do provide more information on how the weapons and skills work compared to the manga. Where the anime is at now, it’s actually even further than the manga. As the latest manga chapter has them defeating Kyo, and it doesn’t help that the manga is currently on hiatus.

I love these videos but I can't figure out why is it that the other heroes are so weak but the shield hero is pulling out ahead of them so hard is there any explanation for this?
short answer, the other 3 are idiots who are still treating it like it's a game. They go off and do dick around side quests rather than actually working on getting stronger. They dont feel the need or see a reason to train properly.
Also the nature of their weapons vs. naofumi's shield is a big factor. Think about how in a MMO getting a new weapon can increase your DPS significantly often to the point where it eclipses your skill, DPS players in MMOs can essentially get carried by their gear since all they have to worry about is doing damage to bosses, tanks and support characters have to worry about aggro, timing cooldowns, positioning, yes it's true equipping a shield with better stats on it will give you more HP/defense than you had before but it doesn't compensate for skill the same way a higher item level weapon does for DPS players.
Naofumi has to actually think about how he is going to fight Ren and Motoyasu literally just swing their penis metaphors around and itsuki just drops AOEs and burst damage, even the hunter class is WOW can be carried by a good bow since so much of their damage is derived from weapon damage.
Unless they do it in a flashback Eclair has beaten Ren is sword fight by this point in the story once before, Eclair unlike Ren actually knows what the fuck she is doing with her sword, as noted by the fact her sword is more of a rapier style sword compared to Ren's which is more of a broad/long sword, that is to say Eclair's weapon is about finesse and technique whereas Ren's is about pure damage.
I belive they mention this during the heroes meeting in the LN. Apparently each hero has their own way of leveling up, but they can use the other heroes methods as well. The other 3 are lazy and treat the world like a game, so they only use their own method and accuse Naofumi of cheating when he says he learned how to use all 4 together, since they all cover different areas. This is one of the reasons they storm out of the meeting. I haven't seen the anime yet but it'd be really weird if they cut something that important out

It’s the same ability he used when Melromarc and the three heroes were chasing Melty and him down in season 1.
It’s powerful because he got swole on Cal Mira and he used the power up methods from the other heroes

Throwing my own theory out, I don't think option 2 is correct, because they could have easily killed three of the heros and just left the Shield, which would have been the end. Instead they ignored the others and focused exclusively on the Shield hero.
Option 3 is the one I think is most likely to be accurate, and I think the reason is that both worlds are getting attacked at the same time, the fourth otherworld hero we haven't seen yet is protecting it, and they think that if they get rid of our heroes then the monsters will focus on that world, and leave their world alone.
Hey is it me after watching the first episode the animation is poor in some parts and then goes back up by alot during the bigger moments a bit disappointing cuttings corners i hope this anime does even better so they make more money and bringing its amazing animation!
