Who else has had this issue?
Currently in the process of doing this fix, my blower fan decided to crack this winter, replaced that today, and found out I need to swap the resistors as well.

Dude!!! You are the man!!!! I was about to take my truck in to a mechanic! This video solved the issues within seconds!!!! Best video
bro your a lifesaver. the value of my truck just went up 😂
fr😂😂😂
I know this an old post but I wanted to say thank you. I ordered the part on amazon using the doorman part numbers and this fixed me right up. My local dealer wanted $475.00 for the parts and installation. I'm 22 dollars , a 7/32 nut driver and my crimpers in and its done!
2009 Tacoma had this issue for at least 3 years just now getting around to it. Was thinking it was the switch glad I saw this video!
Same here!! I have a 2009 also & I’ve had this issue for 3 years as well 😂
Been dealing with this for over a year and I just kept telling my passenger to “wiggle your feet until the air comes on and then we’re good” 🤣 I’ll definitely be ordering the part and fixing it this weekend. Thank you!
Got it right now on my 2014 Taco. Came here to confirm. Have had this on other vehicles as well. EASY FIX. Thanks for the vid.
TY for the video. The Toyota bulletin and most of the postings seem to say the blower motor will only work on high speed. I had the top 2 speeds and not the 1st 2. Bought the Dorman kit online, about $20, and only needed the resistor. Wiring harness was fine. Very easy job. Hope this helps someone.
This was the solve for my 2011 Tacoma.
The only thing different for me was that all settings for the blower wouldn’t work including Hi.
I wiggled the wires and then everything turned back on for all settings.
Thank you for posting!
This just happened it 10 minutes ago 😳 but thanks to you I just "fixed it" while waiting on the kids at school under this Texas heat. Blessings brother 🙏
Man thank you for posting this I had the same problem in both of the Tacoma’s I’ve had, 2008 and 2015, I knew it had to be something between the switch and blower motor because I could feel my AC and heat system putting out the appropriate temperature but the fan wouldnt run. Had I’d known all this time it was just a faulty connection that was right there behind no panels or covers it woulda been fixed before summertime lol I was dreading this project expecting the worst like my blower motor is toast or the selector switch which I’d have to tear into the dash to replace. I was thinking it could’ve been the motor or switch in my 2015 Tacoma because the selector switch didn’t work in any position, but this just goes to show it’s best to check for the little things before assuming it’s something major. thank you for helping me beat the heat on this hot ass work day :)
First time I pay for this problem 260$ .
The second time it’s happened - I WATCHED your video tonight now and fix it Easley
Thank you so much !
Happy to help!
Guess it's my turn to deal with this issue. 2007 taco. Previous owner told me not to ever turn the fan completely off, it may not come back on. Its been all good for three years but on the way to work today it quit on medium and now only runs on high setting. Bout to order some parts.
Thanks for your video and hope it helps me with this.
Thanks for the video, was super pissed when I finished work and my fan would only kick on when it was on high. Need the heater working since it’s -30 Celsius here!
Followed the instructions provided and got the part from Amazon. I have a 2015 Tacoma. Managed to replace the resistor but it was a contortion exercise getting to the back bolt. Had to lay on my back and scooch up under the passenger side dash. Thanks for saving me some money!
Glad to help!
I recently had this issue for my 2010 Tacoma and then luckily I found your video. It was very helpful. Thanks Andrew!
Glad it helped!
Just bought a 2013, did not notice the fan only worked on high. Thanks now I can fix it NP.
Bro THANK YOU ive been dealing with this for months youre a legend
Thx, dude! I found the part in AmZn for $16, delivered next day. Rock on!
This is why I love CZcams! Thank you! This worked for me perfectly. I was going insane.
You're welcome!
Yo! I did it on my 2005 Tacoma and it really worked! Thanks a lot man! It cost me only $19 at Amazon and 15 minutes.
Glad I could help and that it fixed your issue!
This is the first thing I've had to repair on my '14 Taco. Thanks!
Dude, thanks so much. Settled me down immediately. Video was perfect. Short, sweet, and to the point. You're the man. Thanks for helping me fix quickly and making my day. Take care bro.
❤
Awesome! Really appreciate the feedback and glad I could help!
I do and I’m in Texas and this heat is no joke in the summer. Thanks for video I’m going to try this out today
This is the Issue that I am having with my 2013 Tacoma,, Thanks so much for posting this video.. it looks to be an easy fix.
Glad I could help!
Same problem. Your fix worked like a charm. The socket size that worked was 7/32. It looks like a 5.5 for metric. I cant confirm because I dont have that size. It's a tight space but I got it. Thanks for the tip.
Yes 5.5 mm or 7/32
Thanks for putting the socket size brother I woulda found it but going in hot from the start is a plus appreciate it
Couple years latter and my 2010 started doing this so thank you for your video
Best video ever, take me 10 seconds to fixed .. I just touch it end ❤😂😂😂😂.. really, thank you 🎉
Terrific solution and video. (2010 Gen 2 Tacoma) Thanks so much. Also, it's best to make sure there's no blockage \ obstruction at the cabin air filter and path, in case that is the cause for an overcurrent.
My 05 was doing this but it stopped! Hasnt done in for a while now, but I'll be ordering the part to be ready, now that summers almost here!
Thanks! Quick video, no time wasted, exactly the info I needed.
Glad I could help! Thanks!
Thanks for the tip! Had this same issue intermittently and was afraid it was something much more involved. Just wiggled it and it solved it, but will definitely get the part with your link and fix it soon.
Thank you for sharing this with us.... I worked on my 2003 Toyota Tundra as described!
Heck yeah ! I was getting frustrated I almost took It in to a shop thought my ac was going out but I came across your vid 👊🏽🙏🏼
I have same problem 2009 Tacoma
Half the price on Rock auto! Just enter in the part number. Thanks for posting. Problem just started and am relieved it's a simple inexpensive fix!
Rock Auto is the absolute best. I've bought dozens of parts from them. They sent me 3 muffler/tailpipes (1-piece) for my tacoma because the first 2 had huge dents from shipping. I didn't have to send them back either.
Thanks Brother! You saved me a lot of time and concisely presented it. So glad to know the fix of my frustrating issue!
You're welcome!
Thank you brother 🙏🏼 … just ran into this issue today and google it … your a life saver 🙏🏼
Glad it helped!
I really appreciate you bro this worked saved me $200 bucks
Thank you! I was pissed because my a/c wouldn’t work and I didn’t always want it to be loud on high, finally sat in the passenger seat of my truck and looked this up, wiggled my feet and it started blowing, thanks
Glad the temporary fix worked for you!
OMG I'm so happy this worked, also as weird as it sounds my lock/unlock fob started working normally again XD
Well sunnuva gun. I thought I was going to have to replace the fan or the switch itself. I've got a 2011 Taco that is having the same problem with the fan only working on high. Every once in a great while, the fan kicks on at lower settings, but very rarely. Thanks for this video!
My 2015 is doing the same. Thanks for the video!
dude! you totally saved my bacon! I fixed this myself in minutes! Thank you!
You're welcome!!
Great informative video! I was having the same issue in my ‘14 tacoma and was able to fix it by following the information detailed here. Thanks!
Glad it helped!
Sir, you are right on time. This just happened to my 2013 Tacoma. Thanks for the video.
Yes right on time is right, I also have a 2013 Tacoma and have same issue am going to order part fingers crossed🤞!!!
Thank you save me lots of time and money I I jumped the white blu strip wire and it’s working now
Thank you so much my a/c just started doing it
2014 Tacoma pre runner
Awesome! This just started happening on my way back from the grocery store. All I had to do was disconnect and reconnect the wires and Bingo!
Glad it helped!
Mine just went out today but thank god for your video i was just gonna eat buying a new blower motor so yeah thats awesome. 2014 tacoma 😂
Great to hear!
You have the best video on this that I have found. Thanks. Be well and Good Journey. Richie
Glad you liked the video and I was able to help!

Glad it helped!
Thank you so much! Mine just went out today. This video is perfect. Take care, God bless!
Glad it helped and you enjoyed the video!
Same on the 2016, this video just helped me
Might go to advance auto parts for this, thanks man
Thanks so much, simply jiggling the switch worked for me.
Great to hear!
I wish you had shown the re-wiring part. That's the only part that I'm intimidated by.
Wow i started having that issue a week ago , nice to find a video with the same problem and the same year truck as mine
Glad it helped!!
@@DIYAndrewFlockhart I pulled my old one today , while laying on the floor i plugged the harness into the new one just to see if it would work ,,,all fan speeds worked fine but after running the truck just a couple minutes the flat board part of the resistor was hot ,,,,hope thats normal : )
Have this issue too. I just unplugged it and plugged it back in. Working now lol
Thanks for the vid! I’ve been putting this off for way too long.
Glad I could help!
Appreciate it U saved me about $400.
Awesome! Glad I could help!
My 2007 Tacoma has the same exact problem! Thanks for showing me how to fix it.
No problem! Hope it worked for you!
Mine been having the same problem I saw the technician moving something down there so now I’m trying to do it myself, since it looks easy to do, I’ll save round $60 😆
Great video! Thanks for the help and the link!
Thank you!! Huge help and simple fix.
Your awesome man. So simple. Nailed it!
This video was great, informative, and I made the repair in a few minutes. 👍
Great to hear!
i’m having this issue now! thanks man!
Thank you so much for the video! That roof rack looks super functional and stylish. What type of basket is that? You rule man peace ✌🏼
Of course! The rack is a Thule Basket, if you search that up in google there's a bunch that will come up!
Thank you, this was very helpful and I was able to fix it myself.
Glad it helped
Thanks My wire harness was fine but the card had corroded contacts. Emery clothed them clean and fan is working again on all speeds. Probably only temporary fix.
Thank you so much! But my case was a little different. Wouldn't turn back on wiggling the wiring component, but i bumped the motor itself with my hand and it turned on lol. So, not sure what's causing that, but i would not have tried that if I didn't see your video.
Thanks Andrew....have the exact problem.. I'll doe as you did. Wish me luck and thanks for the insight.
Good luck! Hope the install goes well!
@@DIYAndrewFlockhart Worked like a CHAMP....thanks buddy. You Tube saves us millions a year if you DIY. I'm sure the Toyota dealership would have charged hundreds and only cost me $16 and 5 minutes.
THANK YOU! Made my husbands day …. So frkn tired of blasting AC on high down here in FL.
Glad I could help!
Ordered part on Amazon and it’s now fixed and done! Thanks again.
Wow very quick! Glad you guys got it working!
Thank you so much
From Bradenton Florida
Came in cluth bro👌 good work
Had exact same issue - thanks for this!!
Worked great !! Thanks for posting video !
Thank you guy me ayudó mucho gracias!!
Yup.. this was my problem.. thanks very much.
Thanks for sharing
Was a big help 👍
Thank you so much for your time Amigo 🙏👍😎
Same issue in my 2008. Mahalo from Maui🤙🏼🤙🏼.. Dealer wanted $1200 to fix 😅
Very Good vídeo man, I did all this and what happen it's I worked for a few but now it's not blowing air at all, maybe Once in a while I even changed the hardness as well. And I make sure every cable was on the right positions but still not blowing, it did but not really what else could be it ?
Dude, thank you. 5 year old problem solved.
Really glad I could help you out!
Thanks Bud, you saved me some money.
No problem 👍
You are the man bro thank you for the great help it did indeed work for me 👏
Glad I could help!
Thank you so much perfect video I have the same issue
I know I have to replace that part. For the past couple of years, whoever is riding shotgun, they’ve had to wiggle it around with their shoe. When there’s no one next to me, then I get pissed! Thanks for the video
I was doing the same thing, had to finally get the part when my girlfriend had enough of kicking it 😂
@@DIYAndrewFlockhart 😂
Very helpful! Thanks for the fix!
Glad it helped!
Second time I had to replace but it worked like a charm. The first time I didn’t change the harness just the sensor. This time I swapped both hopefully it lasts. I did notice some moisture close to the sensor, anyone know if this is why they fail?
Heavens Yes brother, thank you! Just did what you said and boom! It worked. 🙏🏼❤️🎸
So glad it worked for you!
I have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma and it is going thru the issues. Sometimes it works on the other settings and it goes off then goes back on so what I’ll do is I’ll order the part, do the temporary fix, and then before I realize it I’ll get the part in the box. ☺️
My 2013 has the same problem. I’m surprised toyota hasn’t put a recall on this problem since it seems to be an issue.
Same! Based on how many people seem to be having the same issue
Mine is doing this now.. but it’s also not working on high sometimes too or well when that messes up none of the air blows but I figured out which plug it is, it’s in front of the one ur talking about just wondering if u kno what it’s called I’m gonna have to change both of them I guess..
Absolutely brilliant exactly what was wrong thank you.
Glad I could help!
I'm having the same problem with my 2006 Isuzu i 280, it was fixed two years ago and the mechanic claimed he replaced a part on the fan and it cost me around $ 300 dollars and now I'm having the same problem again.
I'm planning to order the
Service manual and see what its going on.
I remember when I had the problem before my son will
kick slightly on the bottom of the glove compartment and the AC will work on all settings...so may be my truck has the same feature as yours.
I purchased my truck in 2006
wish me luck...I am going to try and see if i can fixed it myself...
My man! Thanks for sharing 🙏
Glad I could help!
Good job, just keep going. You have my support 👍
Thanks so much for the support!!
Seems to be a connector issue for the whole blower motor assembly for this generation Tacoma. I've just started having this issue specified in this video.
Several years ago I had an issue with the connector to the blower motor fan shorting out. This happened right in the middle of the summer in the central valley of California.
Father wanted to hack off dashboard thinking it was the switch before I showed him this video, thanks!!
