i preferred the original ending tbh. it makes less sense, but it makes for a better story. the original ending to me is quite poetic, you really are fulfilling your destiny. you started off by following in your dad's footsteps, and you died by doing that same thing. the fawkes ending kinda just feels like a cop-out to me, it's like a win-win no downsides kinda thing.

I also like the fact that the Courier is the only one who’s managed to let go of their past, and thus the only one who can change the Wasteland.

Personally, it is. Fallout 3 and new vegas have their strengths. Fallout 3 has a great open world that feels alive. New vegas has great stories and choices. Fallout 3 still has good stories though like stealing independence, a short fetch quest is still great. Meeting button gwinett at the end somebody forgotten by history was so heartwarming and charming. Meeting the family was also great. Fallout 3's biggest shortcoming is content. There is only like 21 quests in the base game not including the main quest. Fallout new vegas has better quests in a since as each quest is deeper and most have a choice. Fallout new vegas and fallout 3 dlc are equal in my opinion. For me at least The Pitt, Point Lookout, and Mothership Zeta carried the dlc. New vegas dlc is on average better but some bad ones like lonesome road (its not bad just a letdown considering how well they built your meeting with Ulysses up only to let you down and have him be just as flawed and crazy as someone like legate lanius) and honest hearts (that one just sucks like Joshua Graham and zion are fun to explore but the story is so basic). Personally I am not an rpg guy and I don't really really like choice in games so I didn't really appreciate all the choice in new vegas. I am more of an action adventure/ shooter/ kinda rpg fan which is why I like 3 more. One last thing fallout 3 has great difficulty and I felt like I was always strong but never too strong. In new vegas it would go from being overpowered to fighting death claws with a police baton.

Survival was ok, and does make the overall game more interesting, but they did a poor job of putting it in. If they had it in the game from the start, it would have been better balanced. Too many enemies simply become damage sponges. I do not like the idea of forcing the hardest setting on a player who just wants the added difficulty of eating, drinking and sleeping. Definitely with perks like Almost Perfect, introducing mobs like Super Mutant Overlords, Ghoul Reavers, and Albino Radscorpions, mean while I can not think of anything interesting it really adds to the game outside of increasing the level cap to 30 instead of 20. But with all the broken changes it added to the game I think I would or preferred none of that new content and kept that level 20 cap. Ironically out of all the DLC for Fallout 3, The Pitt and Point Lookout were really the only good ones. I am definitely one of those for fallout 4 "It's a good game, not a good fallout" and I say that purely because of the lack of option. Everything else I enjoy, the map/setting, the factions and encounters, and even the story, I remember when it first came out genuinely had me wondering what was going on. The modding community alone sells this game for me. In fact on steam I'm not ashamed to say I have over 1,000 hours on this game because the modding community keeps this game feeling fresh, new and interesting. So maybe its not a good fallout but it certainly has its up side

FAllout 3 has best post apo climate from all the series, nothing can beat Bethesda world building in this one.

@@silentgamer2434 Well sorry, that's just my opinion. and I've been playing this franchise going all the way back to FO1. And I love the old as much as the new, respecting their differences. I'm not the only one who shares this same opinion, either. FO1 and FO3 are inarguably the darkest, bleakest games in the entire franchise.

@@grndmst9 Fallout 3 always felt more melancholy and hopeless. Fallout 1 feels more dead and harsh. Kinda like the difference between Silent Hill 1 and 2. Both are valid, but I don't think they're going for the same tone. I like both tones, though.

Hey Matty just wanted to say I’ve been watching you since you debunked an old fallout 3 video of someone trying to pass it off as fallout 4(with the monorail in the background) for some reason I thought of it while watching this video, keep making good vids man
