Britain's reaction to this was that it became the UK No. 1 single for a couple of weeks. The rest of the world's reaction was more like "Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the little Donkey, what in the name of all that is holy is this"
I think this pushed British eccenticity almost to it's limit.
The Spitting Image advert for Heineken acknowledged the rest of the world’s reaction very well indeed!
Ahhh, the original video too. It was so funny at the time. The song was annoying as hell later... but it was no. 1 for several weeks and the band that thought that they were going no. 1 in the UK were raging that they had been denied the top spot to satirical puppets.
FYI - If anyone wants to look this up, the current vid of the Chicken Song on CZcams is their spot on the UK's Top of the Pops. The original was taken down due to copyright issues... I think.
The puppet on the keyboard was Margaret Thatcher, the then Prime Minister. See if anyone can guess who was on the drums? 🤣

The baby turkey looked like he was having fun! Or scared to death. Not sure which lol. (I was thinking before when you showed part of this video on the 'blocked" video, that it was a pretty skinny looking chicken, but now I know it was actually a turkey! Lol. Great!

One of my favourite songs and shows but to find it funny you need to understand UK politics and the royals from the 80s to the 90s and a few extra things. Also my dad had this on record as a kid and on the other side was "I've never met a nice South African"
