LYRICS
Remembering the younger days, though time has passed no love will fade away.
Remembering the younger days, when we were searching for heaven's gates.
Remembering the younger , though time has passed no love will fade away.
Shimmering alone now, and lighting up the dark to shine a way.
Remembering the younger days, though time has passed no love will fade away.
Wandering in open space, to drink this life and drown yourself in grace.
Remembering the younger days The time has passed and love has fade away
Remembering the younger , though time has passed no love will fade away.
Shimmering alone now, and lighting up the dark to shine a way.
(Monologue)
I remember attending a funeral in my younger days. A father of three had taken his own life. Everyone from four streets around came. They all cried. Today it seems it's not just one in four streets who's suffering, but one in every family. Anxiety, anorexia, bulimia, self -cutting, and thoughts of ending your own God -given life.
They're all signs of powerlessness. But the power of your awakened will is so strong that it can overcome anything. Even fear. Powerlessness is a crisis of faith. Faith in yourself, first of all. Knowing that you already have everything you need within you to achieve your mission in life.
You don't have to search for it. You were born with it! You just forgot how powerful you are. And when you find your power and have faith in yourself, others have faith in you. And others, and still more, in an expanding circle of trust, hope, and giving.
And this is where love and connection come alive. Because love is selfless giving. And heaven, heaven is a loving connection.
Heaven is a loving connection. A loving connection. A loving connection. A loving connection.

Daniel Murphy of Hermitage Green explained that “today we are being faced with a burgeoning mental health crisis, at a time when we are supposedly ‘more connected’ than ever before. ‘Younger Days’ tackles some subject matter that we have never discussed as a band before, and something we all feel strongly about. We invited Gregory David Roberts to write a spoken word piece for the song. Greg is a gifted writer and artist, who has experienced as wide a spectrum of highs and lows in this life as anyone. It was a great honour to have him collaborate with us, and to articulate the spirit of the song which such meaning.”
Gregory David Roberts is an Australian artist, composer, songwriter, and author with an extraordinarily fascinating life story and with whom Hermitage Green have been privileged to work with on this track. Roberts’ whose life affirming messages have resonated with people across the world said “My spiritual Teacher once said that the happy human being is one who is surrounded by Holy Souls. Dan Murphy is one of those Holy Souls, and it has been a happy honour to collaborate with him and Hermitage Green, to provide my little moment on their beautiful song, Younger Days. I feel a precious, wistful hope when I listen to Dan’s voice on this song, and it fills me with the determination to go on, no matter what, and never give up on love and life. In gratitude, and with Blessings to the Band and all the Holy Souls who hear their deeply empathetic music art.” - Hudba
A potent antidote for despair. We are living through grueling times, and a great many people cannot bear to be present in their own skin. Which may speak to the tsunami of drug overdose deaths in recent years. Despair: it ain't just the tire in the trunk. It's a breaker that can take us in its undertow if we're not assiduous about keeping our heads above water. This artful five minutes and eighteen seconds of encouragement and sustenance is just what we all need. This opus bears a second listening, and a third. And GDR is a man who knows of what he speaks.
Learnt a new word, well said David
