I went back & i’m thoroughly reading through Romans guys, I now understand that the law is written in our hearts & that God merely accepts us because of our faith in him & the law does not make us right with God. I can admit I stand corrected. It was not my intention to take the scripture out of context but rather, I was excited to share a word that I believed went along with what I was going through. The Law is not written on our hearts. Gentiles were never given the Law. This was a covenant between God and the nation of Israel (I think you may find this in Romans 9:4). We must understand that the Law brought condemnation and death, this is the opposite of what Jesus brought, and that was freedom from sins conviction and eternal life through faith in him. If we are under any law, we are under the law of liberty because we are free in Christ. And yes we are all learning and growing in the knowledge of God.

It’s definitely a struggle when sharing the word and ppl get noticeably uncomfortable or upset especially because based on my former life, I’m the last person they think should be telling them lol. But I gotta remember that I’m doing what nobody did for me when I was in the world and that’s tell me the truth. Amen , I agree it can be hard at times however like you said at the beginning we are victorious in Christ and he gave us authority over the enemy and over sin 🙌🏽 keeping Gods law is a way that we can show God we love him John 14:15 says “if you love me , keep my commandments” I think the closer we grow to him and the more we grow to love him in relationship the less we desire to do things that bring him grief or disappointment so the more we love him the easier it becomes to obey his laws we need to trust him as well thank you for this word Brother God bless you I like how you spoke about not compromising or people pleasing ! I been feeling the same way lately after being saved I forget the spiritual warfare were put up against as well so I'm glad I don't feel alone ppl provoke me with their demons and I laugh because morally i know I'm upsetting things around me I cant see it does discourage me at times when its ppl who claim to be christian but aren't in the word makes you feel alienated but I know Jesus had it tougher so that's my daily motivation.

Please, allow me to exhort you a little bit: I just want to make sure you understand that we are beholden ONLY to the MORAL laws of God(AKA the commandments Christ gives us). But you're absolutely right! WE MUST OBEY THEM. I can tell you've been reading a fair bit of Paul's writings. I don't know how much Bible studying you've done BUT I feel led to tell you to be careful about jumping into Paul's letters abruptly. He often takes a very long time to explain his points(unlike John's writings where you can read one verse and get a ton of meaning) I'M NOT saying you misused Romans 2:13, in fact, it was a refreshing use of it to remind us against easy believism. Also I noticed you using the word Gentile in an.... Interesting manner. PAUL was appointed as an apostle to the Gentiles, a very important task at that time, BUT WE are appointed as apostles/preachers/etc to simply just: *the lost*. No longer are the terms "Jew" and "Gentile" important to the Christian walk. These were simply just very relevant terms at the time, and for good reason. Don't let yourself get caught up in the "who's the real Israel" or "who's the real Jews" discussions. That is all a MAJOR DEVICE of the devil to DISTRACT the Christian. Paul makes it very clear in the latter of Romans 2(as well as Jesus himself in the gospels) and in many other places who "the real Jew" is. We are saved to do good works of faith, not good works of the flesh. Moreover, scripturally speaking, Gentiles were never given the Law, this was a covenant between God and Israel. There really is such deep context when it comes to the first 3 chapters of Romans. We must understand the audience and what purpose Paul had in mind; what message was he trying to convey and why? I’m not sure if this was for me or not. In this video he said he’s here to preach the word of god to the gentiles. So I’m trying to understand him because a gentile is a non Jew. So him saying he’s preaching to gentiles makes him a Jew? And I don’t like the word gentile. We are all Gods people. Just look at the Job story (one of many examples). Job was a “gentile” and yet God favored him and was so pleased with Job that God had a covering over him. So when God asked satan if he tested Job, satan said he couldn’t because of the covering. And because of that covering satan claimed that Job would curse God if he removed it and allowed him to test him. So I’m just trying to get a better understand of what his view is when he says preaching the word of God to gentiles.

I can tell you've been reading a fair bit of Paul's writings. I don't know how much Bible studying you've done BUT I feel led to tell you to be careful about jumping into Paul's letters abruptly. He often takes a very long time to explain his points(unlike John's writings where you can read one verse and get a ton of meaning) I'M NOT saying you misused Romans 2:13, in fact, it was a refreshing use of it to remind us against easy believism.
Also I noticed you using the word Gentile in an.... Interesting manner. PAUL was appointed as an apostle to the Gentiles, a very important task at that time, BUT WE are appointed as apostles/preachers/etc to simply just: *the lost*. No longer are the terms "Jew" and "Gentile" important to the Christian walk. These were simply just very relevant terms at the time, and for good reason. Don't let yourself get caught up in the "who's the real Israel" or "who's the real Jews" discussions. That is all a MAJOR DEVICE of the devil to DISTRACT the Christian. Paul makes it very clear in the latter of Romans 2(as well as Jesus himself in the gospels) and in many other places who "the real Jew" is. Alright last thing, I noticed your reading the NLT. I haven't read a ton of the NLT. From what I have read it seems to be pretty accurate and sometimes insightful. BUT when it comes to a deeper Bible study, especially over a single verse, the KJV is king and consequently the NewKJV(which is very underrated) I know I know, look I'm not "KJV only" but I study the Greek and it's hard to not realize the KJVs dedication to the original texts. Just consider it, I personally believe it's helpful to use other versions when talking to unbelievers, so they're not useless. This issue isn't that big of a deal but it is very worth mentioning. I understand why ppl say this. But almost every book of the Bible continuously goes on and on about the importance of keeping God's laws. If you are a believer of the new testament it even states in there the same thing. Example 1 John chapter 2 verse 3-4.
Walking in the Spirit is definitely important but there comes a time when you must also follow the Laws. God gives us grace no doubt, but eventually it’ll be seen as open rebellion if you claim to be in the Spirit but know the laws and still don’t follow them or have access to learn the laws and you don’t seek the knowledge to follow them. Kinda like keep getting locked up for the same offense and the judge usually gives you probation but then the judge locks you up for 10 yrs after the 5th offense.

There really is such deep context when it comes to the first 3 chapters of Romans. We must understand the audience and what purpose Paul had in mind; what message was he trying to convey and why? I know your intentions are good, but when it comes to the apostle Paul, it is contextually dangerous to take one single verse and build a doctrine off of it in order to fit it into our 20th century worldview.

I’m not sure if this was for me or not. In this video he said he’s here to preach the word of god to the gentiles. So I’m trying to understand him because a gentile is a non Jew. So him saying he’s preaching to gentiles makes him a Jew? And I don’t like the word gentile. We are all Gods people. Just look at the Job story (one of many examples). Job was a “gentile” and yet God favored him and was so pleased with Job that God had a covering over him. So when God asked satan if he tested Job, satan said he couldn’t because of the covering. And because of that covering satan claimed that Job would curse God if he removed it and allowed him to test him. So I’m just trying to get a better understand of what his view is when he says preaching the word of God to gentiles.
