Mrs. Dalloway is one of my all time favorites too. My husband bought the annotated edition you are talking about, for me for my birthday last year and I just love this edition so much. I obviously also really love my 1928 Modern Library edition too. :) Geeking on books is the best! This bookshop looks wonderful! Oh to be in England.
I may have drooled a little (or a lot) while watching this video. Putting this on my list for places to stop when I can travel to the UK again. Thanks for sharing. 😊💙
Thank you for taking us along, it looks so idyllic 😊. Is it just me or does everyone feel like bookshops are always better in other cities or countries ? A kind of grass is greener, but with bookshops. I'm sure that plenty of people would say bookshops in Paris are so nice, but actually there are so few I enjoy, and keep drooling over videos of bookshops here on BookTube 😂 Tell me it's not just me... 🙄
That is a stunning shop! I wouldn't have wanted to leave ❤️ Wow, such a gorgeous copy. That portrait is so beautiful. ❤️ After you read it I'd love to hear about your favorite aspects of this copy.
Alway love seeing your bookexcursions! And would love to see an updated version of your mrs. D walk as well! I saved the bookshop to my favourites, when I will be nearby again in future times, I will most definitely visit!
i'm planning a trip to london, and this bookstore was already one of the very few places i knew i absolutely wanted to go. so excited when i saw this video to confirm that. :D
What a gorgeous book shop! I love the little height chart with the book characters 💖 those editions of the classics like Madam Bovery are beautiful. Leaving with only one book is amazing self restraint 🤣
Thanks for another lovely video, Claire. I've had St. Albans on my list for a day trip last two times I've been over in London (live in Philadelphia), but haven't made it. I will definitely get there and to this bookshop as well on my very next trip! I have my own author/book obsessions and so I thoroughly appreciate your enthusiasm for Mrs. D.
That bookshop looks like book heaven. So many classics old and new editions. I collect the Chiltern Classics and then I saw all the old classics in the video and I confess to pausing to try and read some of the titles.
Love Books on the Hill! Did you also venture to Oxfam Books? It's the opposite end to BotH, and is one of the best ones in Hertfordshire! I always find a good book or few in there :)

Glad you're supporting these independent bookstores.

What a beautiful bookshop! And gorgeous edition of Mrs Dalloway. Were you aware of its existence before you found it there? Or was it FATE? :D
Okay, now I'm very curious about my bookish height! 😂
