Trying to get my daughter interested. She bangs around on my drum kit for awhile. Now the rest. I'm an old dinosaur rocker (60s &70's) and this girl has got it ! Hope they (Skillet) stays together for a long while. Best band I've heard of in a long time.
Note how she manages to communicate with the audience, just by raising her arms and breaking into that charming, big smile. She gets immediate response from the audience when she "demands" it!
for a lady that is only 22 years old, she does a heck of a job playing drums and singing to. if you dont like it then just sthu and leave. this group has made me feel alot different inside about alot of things. SKILLET ROCKS!!!!

Being a 3rd generation drummer with professional experience, both drumming and as a production engineer for a couple of labels, it is amazing to me that anyone would even think to knock a young lady who has the talent on the skins, the vocals of a lead, the looks to get her over, and an attitude most could only hope for. Those of you that do redefine the term "hater" and I pity you. The last thing the thing I want most for Christmas, yes you Jen, to ever think is she is less than amazing.
To those who say she sucks due to insecurity and flailing of arms. i been to other artist concerts metallica, pantera etc and theyre drummers show off and they to look for that cheering of the fans. It pumps them up and this girl has more talent in her left arm then alot of you other so called percussionists do in entire body. She has good rythm and she is having a blast. love her and i love skillet.
our school got laptops for us to use instead of books (dont believe me? look it up. raleight county. West Virginia) and we had finished our work so i went to a music site (that our school hasnt blocked yet. lol) and listened to skillet. and when we werent allowed to listen to music, i would take my ipod, but it in my pocket and run the wires up my jacket and down my sleeve and rest my head on my hand with the earbuds to my ears and cranked up Skillet
Well actually, I am currently finishing up my third year as a music major at Northwestern, I've played piano, bass guitar and trombone my entire life, I listen to music all day every day and spend plenty of time studying the music that I listen to. I know a good band when I hear it. I also know true talent when I see it. And although I am not a drummer and I could not currently play as well as her, I definitely know that she is not a good drummer when compared to most other drummer out there. :D
Practice, practice, practice. Make sure you're playing the music you love as well. Whether than be classic orchestral, or rock. You gotta love playing to be able to play the best you can.
@Archive625 I'm actually 37 and yes i have toured with various bands probably when you were still in diapers. Give her a chance. She is responsible for bringing millions of fans to see skillet. She has a great voice, solid drumming. Nuff said

Recently she did get together a new routin in studio and she has started playing it at live shows, but it's more production involved.
