The Brian Jonestown Massacre is an American rock band formed in San Francisco in the late 1980s. The band's musical output has included psychedelic rock, folk rock, electronica, and experimental rock. Since the group's inception it has undergone many personnel changes, with leader Anton Newcombe remaining the sole original member for much of the band's career.

I have seen The Brian Jonestown Massacre once in Utrecht and twice in Amsterdam. The songs are great and their live performance is great. They do not need to be popular with the audience saying He Ho and Clap With Hands In The Air. They do their thing just right.
I'm curious about how many songs and albums the people trolling have made. My energy and enthusiasm may not meet your approval, but I actually stood up in front of people and shared something. What have you done besides hide behind the internet and bitch? If you don't like what we do, do something better. I can't wait to hear it. Let's get on a scale together too, because apparently what we weigh has something to do with the quality of our art? All I know is it's easier to take shots from a computer with a mouth full of Cheetos than it is to actually make something. Let's see what you got.

@Matt Hollywood Dont worry Matt. I saw u with BJM on stage un Lyon several years ago and will see u at the "Nuits sonores" this year. That was a marvelous concert. One of my favorites (20 at 30 concerts a year). Hope to see u so many times on stage. Keep to DIG!

Fantastic show, and beautifully recorded. My absolute favorite band of all time and they sound as good here as they ever have. Would be eternally grateful if you could release some of the songs as separate tracks, Servo, Anemone, Wisdom, Jokers, esp.--they work better on playlists that way.
If you really do like music you have to love Anton... Genious. I head to Joestown every now and then and every time it is fucking ace!

i agree with you and most of there early work is my fave stuff and some of the best work ever recorded by anyone.... and there still doing it anton and the bjm are above all others for me they look down on any other band in history and i don't say that lightly may anton and the bjm continue to make music that moves me in ways no others have
Really love this band
I love this concert and the Norwegian one too . They are the best ever BJM efforts , and Anton didn't lose his voice in this one . Almost a shame because I've noticed that when he does lose the voice , his guitar playing gets even better . As for song writing ,well , I think only lennon and McCartney were his equals and I mean that sincerely . The Invention , creativity and execution mean that I regret not being aware of BJM until 6 years ago . My bad !

Unbelievable band. Saw them in Boston in August and well worth the drive from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Easily the most talented band I have ever seen and I have seen many. To those who are newbies, watch the film "DIG"; it will put much about the band into perspective for you....

"wasted the good years"???? Dude they put out an insane amount of awesome music during the "good years" They may not have made a lot of money off of it all, but in a lot of ways they were probably better off. Whether or not they feel they "wasted the good years" they made some of the best music ever recorded during that time. A big record label would have almost assuredly ruined some if not most of this music. I'll agree they probably should have done a little less heroin though.
Here's BJM fact that I don't think too many other bands can live up to: Out of their 22+ full albums is there even one that is garbage? Better yet, is there even one song on any full album that is garbage?? No, they are ALL amazing!
