      Low Bar.
      You guys are Cuckolds why would you watch a show that directly shits on Tolkien to "Own duh Wacists!" ?
      The creators of the Show literally overtly said they changed the story to fit a Female as the main character and changed her character so she could "Subvert fan expectations"
      "The decision to make Galadriel the lead protagonist of the Rings of Power was a “day one, minute one” choice for the creative team, McKay tells me. Watching Blanchett’s stately Galadriel, they sought to understand, “What if you go back thousands of years before [the Jackson films] and she’s on a battlefield with a sword? That was the first image I remember really grabbing onto and going, ‘Okay, this could be something so distinct and different from, maybe, what people are expecting.’” But subverting fan expectations would be no easy feat, particularly when the actress they selected to do so “completely changed our conception of the character,” McKay says."
      It's trash fan fiction. Period.

    Well made balanced video with serious talk instead of raging: it's really starting to become forced how some of the big channels on CZcams are just pushing these raging videos (and no; I'm not saying one can't be critical of something - even the Middle-Earth Updates voices criticism - but it can be done without needlessly raging). I personally liked the beginning of season 1 just like I liked the first two episodes of season 2. But then it gets kinda worse... It is like the promises of what is to come are great but the outcome/the decisions are often outright bad, boring or it keeps being delaying for too long. And there are characters that are just hard to tolerate really. That being said, its not all bad. I liked the first two episodes of season 2 and I thought I never would after the ending of season 1. The show has it's moments atleast.

    I think a big part of the problem with rings of power is that beloved characters are made so annoying, so out of character and so bad. I dont mind if they, so to speak, fill in holes in the stories, in a way that it fits. And I wouldn't mind the apparence of known characters if done well. But I will not forgive them for their version of Galadriel and (in some ways) Elrond. I did get happy when we got to see hot Círdan, but then he shaved ...

    Nah, i wont ever get the people, who are saying this is a good show and it somehow could be better. I have not watch it and wont ever do it, but I am very familiar with the plot from the reviews, and also have seen countless interviews with the creators. People who are saying "We are better writers than Tolkien himself, his reasoning on some of the events are stupid, and also he was racist, but we got everything right" wont ever create anything worth watching. So, I am not coming for people who liked the show, I just think we got different opinions about the importance of respecting the author's work.

    I watched it in entirety and it continues and escalates the rape of Tolkien lore. Combined with the show's internal logic errors that break its own rules and established characters, this show is objectively bad.
    One example is Galadriel putting on the ring. Why would Gil-galad allow it in the show? The show establishes that Gil-galad does not like Galadriel nor trusts her in any shape or form, and she is not a powerful and wise leader of the elves on par with Gil-galad and Cirdan. So why would she be allowed to bear one of the three? Show's own logic breaks.

    • @skuripandaburns3489
      @skuripandaburns3489 Před 11 dny

      @tom4150 don't be absurd. Nowhere is it implied that it should be Galadriel specifically who wears a ring in order to make it work, it could have been any elf... or that it should be Gil-galad or Cirdan specifically. There were plenty of elves in Lindon. Gil-galad and Cirdan make sense, they are either the leader of all elves or the wisest of all elves. But Galadriel is the odd one out. Gil-galad clearly doesn't trust her. She is clearly not wise. She is clearly a liability.
      Not only does Gil-galad allow her to put the ring on... and keep it... he then allows her to ride away with the ring to Eregion where they have every reason to believe Sauron might be. Why would Gil-galad allow her to take one of the Three anywhere near Sauron, when she is under his influence and can't be trusted? "Oh but see she hates Sauron so much she would never..." shut the ef up. Entire season 1 she and Sauron were a ship.
