    tip from an old analogue fpv pilot, as well as using filters to clean up video , I also use old sheilded usb cable as a video wire harness and earth the internal braid or foil shielding to the earth wire also. This harness will be very resistant to external noise. I never throw away old usb cables any more....well not until i went digital anyway.

      @MarcFPV  Před rokem

      Yeah shileded cables are a good idea. But in our case its better to first attack the noise at the source. Add caps to ESCs and soften the current flow. This noise is not just hurting the image quality but also stresses the 5V and 3.3V regulators on the FC. They tend to overheat and smoke if it is too bad or for too long. if then just some remaining lines are in the feed, then we can talk about shielding.

    Good job on getting that thing down in one piece! That was a wild and successful maiden flight 🫣

    I’m going to have to try my hand at some 3D print planes. Just don’t want to invest hours into building and then gone on 1 crash haha

    Great job, she was a hand full on the first flight. Did you notice that when you did a glide test with motor off there was no static in the display, it was nice and clear.

    • @MarcFPV
      @MarcFPV  Před rokem

      Yep the ESC is ectremely noisy and/or the FC is defect and the filtering failed completely. I will replace both for the next revision.

    Thanks for posting an english edition of the video. I enjoyed watching both editions.
    Second flight was very good for a prototype. As I'd expected, C/G was issue on first.
    The inboard ailerons and their width would be contributing to a lower roll-rate. Adding a mix would help.
    You might double-check to ensure all your grounds have continuity with each other.
    Adding a capacitor on VTX power might help too if power related, and not RF noise.

    • @MarcFPV
      @MarcFPV  Před rokem +1

      Yes the Elevons will get a design update and I get the new version soon. I changed the mixer for more throw on roll, about 40-42° roll and 30-32° pitch. This was much better and I got a roll rate of about 350°/s during autotune. Much better. Yes groudns are all fine and no ground loops. I added caps to the ESC and also to the 5V rail that powers the cam. VTX gets vbat from the FC and has no pads to direct solder a VTX to. I guess the ESC or the FC are just faulty. I will replace both on the next flight.

      @@MarcFPV Thanks for nice update. You making great progress.
      If you suspect might be RF related, could try placing packing tape on both sides of aluminum foil, then using this to wrap the ESC to make a faraday cage. Otherwise, signal leading via wiring.

    Perhaps moving the elevons further away from the fuse and or longer elevons?

    • @MarcFPV
      @MarcFPV  Před rokem

      yeah he has updated the design a bit and extended them. Needed some changes for easier print anyway. I am waiting for the near final version now and then I will reprint.
      But they need to be close to the fuselage. Swept forward designs cause the airflow to move over the wing towards the fuselage. So they have to be on the inside to maintain control at slow speeds.

    Ive only flown fpv quads and want to get into fpv planes, would this plane be good for a beginner? Im assuming i can use my same googles and transmitter with it?

    nice video. I'm flying a swordfish using the atomrc fc stock on inav 6.1 and I'm experiencing a very strange behavior on my nav modes, the plane flies great in all modes but if I hold the elevator stick for too long (climbing ), lets say for a couple of minutes , all my nav modes(alt hold, loiter, cruise, rth) start purposing . if I only climb for few seconds at the time it behaves normal. what do I need to do to fix this? and why do you think this is happening ?

    • @MarcFPV
      @MarcFPV  Před rokem +1

      This is a bug in INAV 6.1. There will be a fix release 6.1.1 in the next days.
      if you don't use Crossfire you can also go back to 6.0 that works fine. It just has another issue with CRSF Protocol that causes a connection loss when disarming. Nothing major but a bit annoying.

    Do you know that Quad propellers are not as efficient as a normal airplane propeller. Yes you can get 4 quad props for the price of one airplane prop but it is not an airplane prop .....Also, my first swept forward wind was around 2004, designed and built myself out of balsa
