    The lads at EGCC-FD have a sense of humor I see. Compelling content, captivating medium. Hopefully these comments don't get too redundant, but you have a very sharp wit about yourself Simon. Two aspects I have observed are background management; the spectacular clouds for example. Knowing the right time to segue. When the viewer's mind COULD wander, after looking at a similar view for a few seconds, you have the sense to segue into a different perspective, angle or point of view. So nicely done!

    I watched a different video on the fire truck that is being used in this video. The nozzle on the front of it can be operated without the driver leaving the seat. Design truly is a beautiful thing.

    Many think that the life of a firefighter is very easy, but it is not, the risks and challenges must be faced with courage and strength to provide security to the community.

    These guys train with gas or LPG as its a clean burn and does not require the use of foam as a media agent, jet fuel burning creates a very thick dense black smoke that would create problems for aircraft nearby as this fire ground is very close to the airfield. I should know I'm one of them lol

    Oh to add, ARFF training (at least in the US, not sure about UK) INCLUDES standard FF training... So pretty much anything a standard dpt can do, so can ARFF and then some.

    • @Zackislivid
      @Zackislivid Před 3 lety

      Its too dangerous as it is asbestos we have natural and fugal bacteria to stop flames from burning you these uniforms are very effective for firefighting because there fireproof and they have a full head protection helmet and 40-1 hour long breathing aparatus

    Hi Simon! We would love to show your video to the children visiting Manchester Airport's education centre 'AeroZone', which is free for schools and colleges to visit. In the centre, we have a fire station zone and the children visiting us would love to see our amazing fire crew in action! Is this ok with you?

    • @SimonLoweAviation
      @SimonLoweAviation  Před rokem +1

      Hello MAG 🙂 yes, please show the video. I'm sure it will be of interests to the students and maybe inspire some to become firefighters in the future.
      I am live streaming these days at man. Is there any possibility of filming from the old control tower? Best regards!

  • @jonny99981
    @jonny99981 Před 12 lety

    As i have said before they are real they have the same equipment and attend emergencys outside of the airport and most of them are retained firefighters for the county fire service

  • @anand6919
    @anand6919 Před 3 lety

    Better to use AFFF (foam) compound for good & faster results...Firefighters stand under the aircraft. Instead of that use, AKRON Ground Monitor is a good idea...

    • @canvasideas

      I don't agree. cover the main body at all times spread out to the engines. 45 angles are suitable for military

    I can never understand why city fire engines are not equipped with the,(on top of engine) instant
    foam/water,facility, they seem to arrive at a fire and spend precious time unwinding and connecting hoses etc,when water or foam could be used in seconds.

    • @Zackislivid
      @Zackislivid Před 3 lety

      City is too small for 1 it takes time for these machines to turn

    • @Zackislivid
      @Zackislivid Před 3 lety

      Well it has a big tank and is cold so it takes some time to be sucked up into the cannon

  • @THEFINALHAZARD
    @THEFINALHAZARD Před 11 lety

    Yeah and in their kinda situations, most of your 'real firemen' would go 'OH FUCK WE CAN'T FIGHT THIS, CALL THE ARFF TEAMS'. Nor would your 'truck' 'engine' etc be EQUIPPED for an Aircraft emergency such as this. They may not run structure calls like your city teams, but who's your regular FD gonna call when shit hits the ground? These guys.

  • @gcem
    @gcem Před 12 lety

    if there was a crash, they need CAFS or at least foam for the fuel not water. water+jet fuel= not good
