Honestly, start to finish Nostradamus was commendable. His team crumpled to several great plays by the Blue team, but he almost single handedly kept players in the game, giving out constructors and eco, building units when the front line was collapsing and air support when it wasn't. I think it's pretty clear that Nostradamus is a high caliber player through and through. The decision making this game was honestly immaculate, even if it was cheeky by the end.
I found the opposite (both in this game, and in every lobby I've seen him in)... no tech for his air or sea player delaying them massively. Anti only for himself... and instead of making units to actually help his team, he just threw them a bone occasionally so he could try his meme. No hate on the guy, just feel like the compliments are misplaced... It's actually extremely selfish play.
@@evilme73 To an extent I agree, but I think he just slept as eco player til about 30:30, then started throwing eco to his whole team. I think the scaling and minor help is way better than slowing the exponential burn too early. Frontlines held well enough, then Nos in the backline juiced everyone up and they won pretty handily. He did sell quite a few turbines to pink at 15:00 too to straighten out their after-attack eco.
I loved 30:50, when Ender asked for a AFUS and Nostradamus just slots 2 AFUS and a bunch of converters to 3 diiferent players, throwing everyone else on his team (except apparently Trollosus, who I think had no BP anyway) into solid T3 eco. He still had half again left over than the next guy on the blue team too lol. Also 45:00 Troll: "we need air dominance for it to work" Nos: "not rly"
Honestly, from the few videos of him I've seen of him, I quite like Nostradamus's play. Not because of the shenanigans - I feel many games could've been won much faster by more conventional tactics - but because when he is preparing for his shenanigans he actually builds up his team by donating power generation, build power etc. Comparing to some other players I've seen highlighted in other channels, I like his style much more.
Impressive play, further underlined if you understand the actual planning that must've gone into this. I'm sure Nostradamus calculated exactly how much metal and energy he needed in bank, how much build power needed to put up a Calamity in 20 seconds and to sustain it to close the deal. He also likely had backup options in case he couldn't pull it off, like transitioning into a T3 spam or becoming the eco of his entire team.
Okay I did not expect Nostradamus to go for that, that was great! Dragons really aren't very good without air superiority huh, upward of 100k metal of them achieved absolutely nothing.
About tumbleweeds, yes they are powerful if the enemy doesn't know how to counter them. 5 or even less torpedo launchers can stop tumbleweeds. About 2 to 3 t2 torps can also do it if you have vision or 3 pin pointers. I was producing tumbleweeds late game like crazy and I couldn't pass my opponent's torps haha. That's how you learn I suppose.
Tumbleweeds can be easy, but also very difficult to counter.. It mostly depends o how they're controlled because of how targetting works in BAR. Everytime a unit fires they aim at the location they expect their target to be at the time of projectile impact. You can see this whenever a unit fires at a moving enemy, the projectile doesn't move towards the enemy unit but in front of it with the intent of the enemy moving to the same position as it. But if you give your unit a new move order after the enemy fired, but before your unit gets hit they can dodge the attack as most projectiles do not chase their target. Thus a factory producing tumbleweeds will issues trying to destroy a torpedo launcher by simply setting its waypoint on the torpedo launcher, unless it's producing enough without causing chain reactions. After all, the path the tumbleweeds take will be pretty much predictably straight at towards the torpedo launcher. However, if we take a few tumbleweeds and micromanage them through a tightish zigzag pattern towards the torpedo launcher it might get confused and aim where our tumbleweed will never go, thus allowing the tumbleweed to close the distance by means of not getting hit. Or rather the torpedo launcher might aim where it thinks we're going, whilst we change our minds halfway. The big challenge with this is that players that don't micro the tumbleweeds may consider it a bad unit, whereas their opponents consider it easy to counter. Consequently they might get completely destroyed by micromanaged tumbleweeds from experienced players that magically dodge most of their torpedoes. You can sometimes see experienced players "wiggle" their commander back and forth in the hopes of enemy weapons failing to predict their location so they can live a few seconds longer on those last 2% of their hitpoints. Most of the time the tumbleweed is claimed at great against ships, not land targets... This is because navy and naval defenses use slow firing and moving torpedoes and depth charges, there is no great counter to it when your enemy micromanages them (commander laser doesn't do enough damage). Whereas on land we have rapid fire instant hit lasers, for razorbacks and splash damage weapons it's just another small spammed unit tat they can easily take down.
Impressive, but also with this kind of economy you can almost do anything. Instead of a calamity he could have gone for a forward T3 and crank out Juggs for example.
6:50 So, yeah, they traded 3 for 2, but ignore the metal reclaim for a second. That is such a big win for them, that just reclaiming them would be a waste. Yeah, they can get all that metal, or they could res those commanders. Red team wouldn't be out anything, they get spares that Blue now need to kill off too if they want to win, they can also distribute those to other players for more build options or just for a big early increase in build power. Meanwhile Blue lost everything they tried investing there.
@@BrightWorksTV When you do wind, you dont pay atention to actual wind speed, you pay atention to the avegare wind speed. Yes there will Be moments where the wind is 1, and times where the wind is 19, but at the end of the Day if the average is 14.2, you are gonna get about 14.2 wind for each wind turbine. It all evens out, execpt maybe the early game when you're making workers
I really enjoy watching your videos, and have one request regarding your commentary. Instead of saying "we" to refer to the actions of a player you're focusing on, could you call out the players that you're referring to by name when you're talking about their economy or the tactical movements they're making or not making? It's somewhat confusing to hear you refer to things like "we've got X happening" when you're switching between all the different players in the game, and so the "we" changes from moment to moment.
Fun to watch nostradamus memes ending the game... but I still much prefer to see him on the enemy team than on my own. If he is your eco, your air and sea won't get t2, anti will be late, and will be selfish anti, only covering himself and not air player as well like it should.
Dont listen to the other guy im first and he’s second and im waaaay cooler and fuck that guy cause im first and not second and im super hot and really cool and also not second
This kinda feels staged to be honest, so little fighers and ground AA lategame with high level players... the early nuclear bombers should have been a huge red flag making this strat impossible without bait.

idk, I don't see such handovers ever so if he is selfish then everybody else is egomaniac@@evilme73

i see Nostradamus in the title, i click
A man of refined tastes :D
Nostradamus II : This time it's a Calamity!
Bigger, better, and more badass!
that bit about the Mauser beach party, hilarious

the nostradamus proxy calamity lmao
31:41 was just pure art :D like a elegant dance of "not today my friend"
Yep EMPs of the year
That was a wild defense!! Notice the AFUS didn't blow in any of the 3 or 4 times he got overrun with units. Incredible
Absolutely disgusting play, I love it.
So epic! Congratulations on 3K. 🎉
Honestly, since your first stream with Nostradamus playing, I can't wait for another video with his name in the title.
This ending was insane!
Good old Nostradamus at it again! :D
Chef's kiss Grats on 3k subs!

this is why i love this game

5 commanders at once ......looks like meats back on the table
Tower Offense 2: Electric Boogaloo
Nostradamus is to BAR what Florencio is to SC2 and I love him for it.
I hope he sticks around for a while to keep on giving us treats like these.
Ohh man I couldn't have said it better myself
When the first time your in the brightworks is a game losing micro fail 6 minutes in :)
Oof! Sorry bout that! Happens to the best of em though! And as always feel free to send in a better example of your skills to the discord channel :)
no worries mate. I did :)@@BrightWorksTV
If it had worked, it would have pealed them off the front line. It getting spotted is the risk you took.
Nostradamus is the BAR equivalent of Dark from SC2 or Florencio.
I absolutely agree

Nostradamus? Nuts? ... Nutstradamus?
Wooooo
nice
A good Marauder push should incorporate anti-air hovers or some other kind of anti-air
Thanks for the streaming the game!
However, sometimes u loose some interesting moment in the game like invasion of marauders at 29:00
Thanks for time-stamping it! Yeah I tend to lose them sometimes so thanks for helping others find it!
Holy Moly at 46 min!
I discovered nostradamus an hour before this video came out
Perfect timing
19 wind for the first 10 minutes is crazy lucky. Especially if you are completely on wind 😮

Hi can someone explain how to party up with a friend in BAR? We tried to work it out with the $party command but couldn't get it to work.
$party gives you a link in the chat box (right part of the menu), click the link and it opens your browser to manage the parties
