RANE PERFORMER - Is this a Motorised Rane Four DJ controller?

- We just spotted this in an Instagram story from a Super Bowl pre-party last night. It looks like a Rane Four DJ controller, but with motorised jogwheels and in-jog displays, which are similar to the Pioneer DJ DDJ-REV7.
It also appears to be called something new: Rane Performer to our eyes. Take a look at the video and let us know what you think!

Exactly! I would come back. Right now I have a Rane One that's been serviced 3 times under warranty. The warranty is up. So I got an flx 10 and have the rane one sitting on my closet floor
Facts. My Rane four is under a year old and has problems with the up faders
With Algoriddim's solid relationship with with InMusic (Rane, Denon DJ, etc.), I hope it's compatible with DJAY Pro right out the box. Can't wait!

@@digitaldjtips I've been considering either the Rane Four or the FLX10. If the Rane Four was motorized it would be a no brainer. Think I may wait awhile now.
I found another story angle with a better look at it. It’s does appear to be a new Rane controller. The “Rane Performer.” Looks like a dream and my next controller 😭

Now truthfully, my preference would be for an NS7 IV, but this is perhaps the next best thing for a 4 deck motorized DJ controller with onboard effects and stem separation.

I want to see it a little better. Hope they fit a strip search on there like my ns7iii so I can touch exactly where I want to be in the song. And Touch sensitivity where it makes sense.

unrelated guys but why don’t the Denon DJ Prime SC 6000M get more attention in the DJ world. I’m using a couple now and they are amazing. Just curious?

I love my rane four I’m just happy that rane is still working with serato. I didn’t expect them to release this till after the decision of the acquisition

Rane one has 7" platters, the Four has 8.5" so I think they are 8.5s in this perFOURmer model

Saw it yesterday is a rane 4 motorized platters.
I had the Rane ONE for a hot second. I had to let it go because I needed 4 channels. This new controller might be a good one. BTW, the Audio quality on the RANE ONE was far superior vs. my Pioneer controllers and mixers. Definitely something to think about it

I wonder if this is the successor for the Rane One or will they still update the Rane One in the future. I could definitely seeing them replacing the One with this controller.
Good point - I mean, the Rane One is an out-and-out scratch controller, but the Rane Four (and now performer) are more open format/party - so maybe not.
I'm hoping they update the rane one with onboard effects Stems separation buttons and screens on the platter like the rev seven
Well clearly no Rane One MK2 if this is dropping. Clearly these companies are after our money but tells you the competition is 🔥🔥🔥. The Rane 4 with motorized platters would have been the ultimate controller. Now the price point and quality control. Can they swap mine lol

I'm really used to my DENON PRIME 4 and have contemplated updating my P4 with their latest addition the DENON PRIME 4+...... but when I sat THIS during the SB weekend......I WAS REALLY SHOCKED AND SURPRISED...... NOW I WANNA GET MY HANDS ON IT....... FINALLY A 4 CHANNEL WITH MOTORIZED PLATTERS...... I'll be waiting and hopefully it'll be out before I get my RANE 12s
Of course this looks like a laptop controller, not a standalone like yours.

I hate this because mine had issues and is still at their service centre for the past 2 months. Got rp-8000 mk2 just cos of this and it’s a whole different experience. Thinking of rejecting mine tbh cos it feels almost useless to me if this is dropping. Is this a mod prolly not. A year later and they doing this???

This looks like a motorizes version of the Rane four, Button layout to the mini display, even the outputs on the front are exactly the same as Rane FOUR.

I saw the front of the actual unit and it is spelled "PERFORMER." If these are already in production then someone should be fired for not thinking of that. Because it is nearly identical to the Rane Four with the platters motorized features and larger screens being the only differences I could find.

I stand on "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!". Some of you djs out there got your house cluttered with a DDJ-1000 SRT, a Denon Prime, a Rane 0ne, a Rev-7, A set of Rane Twelves and Seventy Two mixer, a DJM-S9, a Denon Prime Go, a Numark Platinum FX......and now you wanna know when this one drops!

Pretty hard to deny. It could be something cobbled together by someone, but why? Its got all the standard Inmusic buttons and switches from across all their gear. This is a standard way to build hype for a new product, its not “leaked” at all, its a set up.

I just picked up the rev 7 a couple of days ago after waiting for so long to pull the trigger to buy it...and then this happens lol But honestly i don't need a 4 channel mixer.. I wonder if The Rane perFOURmer will have the same fx built in like the REV7.. Im kinda on the fence of returning my rev7

He must have a hook up, to openly use a prototype like that, the platters looked similar to Rev 7s displays in the middle of the jog wheels.
Two person I know might know about it are Cleveland Terry and Pri Yon Joni.

DJ Ringleader Ace. I'm guessing he has one for being like family with the Avila Brothers for around 30 years. He also is the tour DJ for Sen Dog of Cypress Hill. Why would the Avila Brothers be so lucky? They were prominent producers on grammy award winning albums from Usher and Mary J. Blige. They also were involved with the tech side development of the original Beats by Dre headphones. Which I discovered it was Monster Cable that was the company that worked on that tech and that is how the Avila Brothers worked behind-the-scenes on the project. That triggered a memory of mine where I realized I saw Beats by Dre headphones for the first time at the Monster Cable booth at CES. But DJ RingLeader Ace is performing on a black one here at the afterparty, but they had a white one on the field for Usher's halftime show. So I'm assuming that Ace and IZ Avila each have one.

This could be really serious . I miss my rane move to the FLX10 though the FLX 10 is great . A motorized Rane four would be better

3 months later and no news. Not a smart move by Rane to keep everyone in the dark. I assume sales for the actual 4 must be down since all are waiting for the motorized version. However, I wonder why prices aren't dropping yet. 🤔

If you click on the "Read the news piece" link in the video description you will find where I posted pics of the face of the unit. It is called the "PERFORMER" and looks almost identical to Rane Four but upgrading the platters even further with a larger screen.

I too thought they are a bit bigger
Same size but with bigger screens. Maybe the smaller surface area between the edge and the screens helped with the illusion of they were bigger. They will do a stand alone platter-only version as an additional stuff that works in tandem with this unit... something line the numark ns7 mk3 and the V7...
so one can buy the stuff and add 2 more platters with all the performance pads and stem options...
but only if they smart enough...
I wanted to jump on the rev7, but those anoying platter isuues (slow down and reverse stuff randomly....)
I owned ns7 mk2 for years... and loved many stuff on it... but always missed 2 more motorised platters with the pads...
And those were reliable workhorse...
weight a ton, but still a lot less than 2x1200's and mixer... not mentioning the 2-300 vinyls lugging around with them...
If it will be as reliable as the ns7 units... I might get one, but yeah...
for a proper 4 ch mix, one needs 4 platters as well...
just look any 4 ch performances... like this james hype guy, or dj blacklee (6 channel mixes with 260 tracks per hour)
You can't do many desired things if one got only 2 platters...
I wanted to get 2x rev7 units to get all the things I need with a hacked 2 to 1 earphone adapter (left rev7 on left earcup, right rev7 on the right earcup... but those platter issues stopped me to jump on the bandwagon)
And ever since rane is under InMyshit I dropped the possibility to get any rane product... but who knows... will see in a few weeks...

Numark released a four channel controller with 7” motorized platters, screens that shows Serato waveforms, and now supports STEMs, back in 2015. There’s nothing innovative about this. Come on inmusic, step up your game!
The in-jog displays are the innovation here, plus updated controls (ie stems).
