This girl KNOWS....WHAT she is doing. She isn't stupid, and she isn't a victim, but she IS USING this whole "victim" scenario as her excuse to get attention. And ALL this .......GETS HER ATTENTION. Yes, it's negative attention, but it's STILL attention.
MANY of us didn't have parents, snd had parents that abandoned us. My parents BOTH abandoned us, and our mother sold us to other family members . And in THAT home there was terrible abuse, physical, verbal and many ways. It STILL gave us NO EXCUSE to act out and abuse OTHER PEOPLE.
She is using excuse after excuse after excuse. She CAN control herself, but she doesn't WANT to. When she runs into a brick wall, and someone louder and stronger than her puts her in her place, she will find out that she doesn't run the world, and the world doesn't OWE her anything.
The whole "mad" thing is silly, and this child is so emotionally underdeveloped, she can't see it. Anger has become "power" to her, and she feels POWERFUL with anger. But, it will backfire terribly on her, if she keeps doing this. Imagine what her teachers have to deal with? They have to deal with MANY kids like this every single day, in every classroom. So, go easier on the teachers.....when THEIR JOB has to deal with MANY OF THESE same type of kids. They're supposed to teach their academic subjects......NOT control or babysit badly behaved children/toddlers in grown bodies. Parents have GOT to do better......and LEARN......HOW to parent their children.

Prisons and gangs are full of people who grew up without a Dad. It’s even more damaging if you’re left with a mother who doesn’t know how to parent. The mother and grandmother seem to lack empathy and just never wanted to speak about it. At one point there was a stepdad because there are 2 younger kids. We don’t know what happened with him.

If we take a closer look at the mom we're seeing inability to select the right person for a relationship, weight issues, immaturity (eg arguing with her daughter at her daughter's level). Those two little girls are in danger when their older sister is around and there's NO excuse for that and it's the mom's fault

If she is such a horrible child, why is she being spoiled and rewarded for her behavior? Her mother needs to be a mother, she has no clue how to command respect. Can she recognize that she is the child, and her mother needs to be respected? This child may benefit from some serious psychological help for many years. Her mother, may need it as well. So sad...

Her mother created a monster. She may have indulged her and let her daughter get away with things to make up for the father being absent. This is years and years of submitting to her daughter. The daughter’s sense of entitlement is through the roof. She may even subconsciously blame her mother for her father’s behaviour and absence. The daughter is a danger to anyone in her path and headed to prison herself if she doesn’t get her act together.

Honestly, I truly believe people like this are bad seeds. He was always different, abnormally demanding even as a tiny infant, wouldn’t sleep, screamed like a banshee, manipulative etc. at 5ish was assaulting others, including disabled classmates. And only got worse with age. It was such a horrible, isolating, hopeless, helpless situation. It was terrifying and exhausting. I feared for my life and others. Not a single “expert” knew what to do with us. It did not help to send him to therapists, treatment centers or church…unfortunately. It's a long list, but there would other rules of the program, required of everyone. Girls only! Long-term, not just a few months. School would be required in an in-house program.
This probably sounds harsh, but I know this can work, as long as it's consistently enforced. I've seen it, and I've seen disasters when it the program isn't followed.

Ya know, I am 70 yrs. old and can still understand this 14 year olds pain and antics clearly cause I was the same way when I was her age and up in my teens. Even pulled a knife on my mother once. Not everything was revealed on this show I'm certain. Just because she's wearing nice sneakers and has braces on her teeth does not mean she has a wonderful mother. Gifts don't meaning anything if your being uncivilized or a smart mouth to your child. And I 100% believe this is what happened. This mother looked so prim, proper and kind on the show but I'm not believing it for one second. For this young girl to be this angry and in pain there's much, much more to this.

Looks like the best thing for Destoni & her family is a separation, and a long one.
As Dr Phil said, something dramatic has to change. The mother & daughter both need professional help to dig out of this viscous cycle rut they are in. I hope this Discovery center helps, if not some other kind of program. Living on a farm or horse therapy, something in nature might help to cool Destoni down.
The violence and abandonment issues she experienced re her father is a terrible source of pain and I imagine fear and trauma at such a young age.
Now Destoni's younger siblings have the fallout unleashed on them as Destoni acts out.
They all need psychological help and outlets like sports, art, music etc to get to a happier level.
Good luck to them for navigating through these issues!

I went to one of those with my little girl. The idiots at her school decided to hold it at a public park, in 40 degree weather (in the sun), with wind so heavy it was blowing away everyone's napkins, paper plates, blowing over full cups of coffee. It was held under a pavilion, which took away what little warmth the sun offered. Everyone was miserable, the kids were all cold. I went to my truck to get my spare coat to wrap around my daughter. Other "fathers" around me made my blood boil. There was another little girl in my daughter's class that was not as well dressed for the cold as mine. Cute little dress and tights, but she was shivering and her lips were turning blue, her father not noticing, too busy looking at his phone.
One of the airhead staff from the school came around to us asking "is everyone having a good time?"
I'd already been cursing under my breath as it was, so I held little back.
"No, I'm having a terrible time, who planned to do this outside on a cold, windy day like this? I'm dressed for this weather and I'M cold, I had to get my spare coat out of the truck for my daughter, look at that girl, she's shivering, her lips are turning blue, so is that little boy there, and that one, and those girls. Why was this not held at the school cafeteria, gymnasium or something out of the elements?!"
Visibly shaken by my reaction, the staff member said they considered it but were worried about "an enclosed space due to COVID".
"Due to COVID?! Oh, so you were so concerned about the health and well being of the students you decided to instead have this gathering outside, in the shade when the weather has been cold, wet and rainy for weeks? How many of these kids are likely to get sick from this and miss school for 10 days when they get colds & sniffles, because your staff were being paranoid about COVID?!"
The lady nervously moved on, going to talk to other school staff, then suddenly in minutes the kids were called to get back on the bus and go back to the school a little early.
My daughter had a really good teacher at that point, and she talked to my daughter's mother on the phone sometime later, when the daddy & donuts event came up, the teacher saying that they "cut it short when one of the parents pointed out that the weather was unsuitable and the children were getting very cold". She laughed and told her that it was in fact me that said that, her teacher saying that she was glad that I did, and was so disappointed in the other dads there for being so blind to the state the children were in, and of the staff as well.
I caught part of this episode of Dr Phil the other night, and the story just pulled at my heart, I had to look up and find out what happened to her. Hearing her bring up that daddy & donuts part and how much it still bothers her speaks to me and how important it was and is for me as a father to be there and do things like that, even though they seem so trivial, they mean the absolute world to our children, and being there or not being there will impact the rest of their lives.
It made me want to hug her the way I hug my daughter, to try to ease some of that pain of the void left by her father's absence. I haven't finished looking into how it ended up, but I really hope she was able to work through the issues she has and have a better life, and be a happier, more at ease person with her life and place in the world.

    • @d3ltaohniner261
      @d3ltaohniner261 Před 2 měsíci +8

@francescafaull1253 the girl is responsible for HER OWN actions, do NOT absolve her of her own agency and responsibility for her behavior.
A hard life is not a hall pass for being a terrible person, I had a really hard childhood, abused for years. That didn't give me a license to treat everyone around me like garbage.

@terricunningham6810 would *have. Sorry you went through what you did too. I feel really bad when the PTSD and depression makes it hard to be the attentive, patient father I want to be. Makes me distant at times, or to have a short fuse, but I do NOT do to my children what my father did to my brother and I. Even small victories are victories. If you can look at yourself in the mirror and not hate the face staring back at you, that's a pretty good day.

Sometimes when you don't have the answers, the one to blame is anyone close. Many Moms are blamed, because they are the closest. The kids don't understand . They haven't talked about the father, only once.

Everyone is hating this 14-year-olds behavior and I get it. But and this is a big but... there was a failure to get her therapy from her experiences of her dad being taken away. Alot of this behavior seems a little too much like PTSD from those experiences. She was traumatized and this behavior really should have been addressed a long time ago. I hope she gets the help she needs now.

My mum kicked my father out for having so many affairs while they were married, and I was a daddy’s girl all of my life and I was hysterical at 5yrs old, attached to his leg and sobbing for him not to leave. It absolutely broke my little heart. We did get to see him every second weekend and he was always very financially responsible for us 3 girls. But I grieved for him until I was able to live with him when I was 14. It damaged me permanently though, him leaving, but I didn’t go on a rampage of very bad behaviour and threaten physical violence. I certainly understand her pain but not her behaviour. Sometimes that is just a cop out, saying my dad left. Well so did thousands of other fathers , she is not the only one who has suffered.
