    Jiu jitsu hurts the body. Don’t want to discourage you from it, and I hope you keep it up. But that’s why I’m loving lifting so much. It’s really helping me fix the imbalances and injuries sustained from years of BJJ. Wish I’d have known how to take care of my body from the beginning.

    Hi men, really appreciate you guy's video.
    Started weightlifting 3weeks ago, I am at the gym right now.
    FINALLY getting a good at cleans!!! I'm like power cleaning 100pounds like its a empty bar 😆😆
    Just 5 days ago I was struggling trying to clean 94

    NHS physio here, you're right, do what you can to look after yourself, prevent injuries/health conditions as best you can, because our healthcare system is a fucking state right now, not a good time to rely on it

    I remember breaking a pinky toe in 2017 and I'm still fixing the consequences when I didn't follow the doctor's orders to use it and walk on it normally despite the pain. I was living quite a passive phase of life in general at that time to make things worse. And nobody take this comment as advice, it's all in context and someone else's context will be different. It's just sharing an anecdote on broken toes, feeling relatable.
    I think it's also good to remember with an injury like this that despite being the man who puts effort in for others and is dependable, being an entrepreneur and all, sometimes you have to also just receive it and accept not being the one acting. And it could've happened crossing the road even though bjj is more a choice you can just not make. But also if bjj is something that brings positive energy that helps getting the work done and being a happy family man, it might still be worth the risk. Nobody wants extremely safe and reliable man who puts everyone else ahead and loses their full personality in trade (although I doubt that's ever a risk with Gurph) and becomes boring and lifeless. Also it's possible to put a hobby sport on halt for now and return on a better time. A lot of blabber, just wanted to say something more than get well soon and break your records as you do.
    Unfortunately this pushes back the Asics review.

    Check out David Grey’s foot rehab program, he is light years ahead of what most physios are going to say to you, he’s a legend when it comes to that. It would worth a trip to Waterford to interview him for the show, his podcast is great too

    Don't have to give the weight but can you tell what the squat PR goals are more generally? Like for example are they a 3 rep 5 rep and 10 rep max or something different?
