    Yes, great video. One of the best ways to open a box like that is to use a flat blade letter opener or a knife with a large non serrated edge and place it inside the lid and pull up on the lid so that you don't tear the lid. I learned that years ago. Hope this helps.

    I’d like to thank you for this review. It felt like I was just hanging out with a buddy who was telling me about a cool toy they picked up and didn’t feel like an attempt to sell me on the product. The ability to change out from 1:24 to fit a 1:18 figure in there (1:18 is my bread and butter on my channel) was a cool feature to show off. Thanks for the great video!

    Great video! I love these mechas! Pro tip for future unboxing videos, use a butter knife to open the flap. Insert it from the side, closest to the top corner and just lift up, keeps it from tearing. =)

    Just bought my third one. A grey Steel Bone, a white Steel Bone, and I have Iron Wrecker 06 on the way. It won't arrive for a couple of weeks and I'm already looking at this one (that white one looks really good, too!)
    Considering I have no emotional attachment or nostalgia for this toy line, it's crazy how addicting these figures are. If some company decided to give them a backstory and market them over here, it could be a phenomenon!

    FYI: The Steel Bone H02 "Firepower" mecha is a 2021 re-release of the original H02 mecha from 2020, with a new paint scheme (the original was all chromed out in full metallic silver) and different accessories (the original just had the hammer, no miniguns) and a different pilot.
    As far as the current generation being "scale agnostic"... that may not continue to be the case: Iron Wreckers 01 through 06 all featured the same core inner frame and cockpit, with that removable "ejector seat" that lets the larger scale figures cram into that space, but the Iron Wrecker 07 (Rain Forest Operations) and 08 (Space Operations) mechas they have up for pre-order now have a different "chest" and cockpit section that lacks that removable ejector seat (and opens partly from the back, with the figure in a more typical seated position instead of standing upright).

      @@littleBIGrobots Update on the new Iron Wreckers: turns out even with that change to the cockpit design that ditched the removable ejector seat and changed the orientation of the figure to a more normal "sitting position", they will in fact still hold 1/18 scale figures in addition to the 1/25 scale pilots they come with.

    All of the mechas that JoyToy has made in the past that you're likely to still find in stock somewhere (ie, God of War 86/Steel Bone ___), and all of the ones they're making now (Iron Wrecker/specific re-issues or reworkings of older Steel Bone designs) in the Dark Source series are 1/25 scale (and the ones in Battle for Stars are all 1/18 scale) - the only Dark Source mechas that aren't 1/25 scale are the two versions of the 1/18-scale "Freeman" mecha from 2019.
    BigBadToyStore just has a bunch of those 1/25 designs erroneously listed as 1/24 in the product description, those are all actually 1/25 scale; 1/24 scale JoyToy mechas simply don't exist, it's not a scale the company works in.
    The vehicles that BBTS has listed as 1/27 scale, however, ARE correctly labeled: when JoyToy first started making toys, they were making 1/27 scale stuff - BBTS just has unsold inventory kicking around of some of the oldest products in JoyToy's entire catalog.

      @@littleBIGrobots You're welcome, and yeah - I went down the rabbit hole collecting their stuff recently (my 10th 1/25-scale mecha is currently sitting on my front porch, waiting for me to take it inside and unbox it when I get home tonight), so I've been doing some deep dives into what all exists out there from them, and if I actually want it/can feasibly track it down for non-ridiculous prices; they've come a long way since their earliest mecha designs from 2016.

    Are you going to get the new mechs with the sword wings? Those seem less gun focused.

    • @littleBIGrobots
      @littleBIGrobots  Před 2 lety

      Hopefully. Checking my buying schedule this week lol

    • @matthewyoho5422
      @matthewyoho5422 Před 2 lety +1

      Well... you SAY that, but one of the two orbital combat mechas (the 06 "bombardment type") features a pair of underslung arm-mounted cannons (it doesn't actually really "hold" them by the handles, they clip onto the wrist armor, and the hands just "appear" to be holding the grips), and the other one (the 05 "night attack" type), while it does have 6 of those swords (4 for the wings, 2 for wrist-mounted blades, in the same fashion as the cannons), also includes a (mecha-sized) rifle.
      So they're about as gun focused as Iron Wreckers 1 through 4 have been.

    • @littleBIGrobots
      @littleBIGrobots  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah I'm not like against guns with my toys, really, I just rarely display them. I like showing the bots doing like, work, or getting repaired lol And I save all the weapons as well... just more of a melee guy! haha

      They're designed after titan fall. Which has large guns on little stands in their back.
