Jesus! This is a great rendition. She takes this classic song and puts her own spin on it. She gives it a yearning quality which is completely heartfelt. Cheers.
One of the better covers of this song. I didn’t realize she had covered it. This live version is better than the recorded one, which I didn’t care for.
cant watch this and the tears not fall. a beautiful young Cherokee woman in my neighborhood named Gina Silvers used to sing this song and play guitar for me as a child. sadly died young from a brain aneurysm when I was 9 yrs old cannot thank you enough for posting this song . blessings.
I've loved Skeeter's singing since the mid sixties when I first came across her music. Country or crossover, there's no playing to the gallery, Skeeter just gives it her best shot. Wish I could have seen her in her heyday. Bless you and Rest in Peace, Skeeter and thank you for your musical Legacy.
I could have written exactly the same I was a small east London lad in the U.K. listening to his father’s records and still feel the same almost 60 years later No other singer gives me more pleasure I truly love her god rest her soul
I wish I could have gotten to meet her... If I ever did, I would've been too young to even remember, to this day... I'm a 90's child, but I have a passion for her great music. Her voice is just so beautiful, very angel-like. She was beautiful. ❤️
There was such a tenderness to Skeeter's, especially later on int the cross-over part of her career. She left behind an amazing legacy with a wonderful catalog of timeless songs.
What a performance she made this song her own with the deepest emotion possible she lived the song when she sings it she ,s the best ever in country music.
I love the variety of Skeeters singing. I have her album she did with NRBQ and I also have her album, I Love Flatt & Scruggs. I read her autobiography, Bus Fare to Kentucky and highly recommend it!
Grew up to her records always spinning at the ol’ homestead. Started listening to her again after her inclusion in the video game Fallout 4, of all sources. Glad I did.
It's as if Skeeter has the perfect voice except it has everyone's favorite aunt's voice singing to the kids thrown in. You love it more for it's imperfection.
Pretty nice video of Skeeter. You must have gotten the lyrics from what you thought she sang. But it's "ferris wheels" not fairy squeels, and it's "illusions" not cloud delusion. She recorded it in 1969 so this must be from later because she's already playing around with the melody. Still anything by Skeeter is worth hearing. She was a fine singer and person.
I really do not like the album cut she did of this--the tempo on it is way too fast and it compromises the tone of the lyrics and melody in a way that is borderline disturbing. This live version, however, is absolutely gorgeous. I prefer her vocal delivery to Joni Mitchell's original.
I feel like she was a closeted lesbian for Betty Jack. She was never the same after her partners death. Even her hit song, "it's the end of the world" is about her.
Sorry, this is the best version. Her voice is strong and so fragile. So moving.

Her singing is not that of an almost 40 year old here. Very tender, and youthful sounding. Almost like her voice softened as she aged. Bravo 🔥
People love her because she was serious; no performing put on, or unnecessary fake smiles.
She plays it straight. . No fake smiles or unnecessary humor. . We do love Sketter.

Very beautiful

What wonderful recordings she made for RCA records. No other female artist came close to her. Wonderful video.
Lovely.
I always loved Skeeter Davis.
I love Skeeter Davis!

I loved Skeeter. What a wonderful voice.
Now, this is music guys.......
Thanks for posting this! This is one of my favorite versions of "Both Sides Now."
Have to love Skeeter!

This is nice! She has her own style.
Very nice job. Of course, will always like her for End of the World - that was also a great, great song.
Wow. The la la las got me feeling good. Then again... I don’t really know life at all.
Great singer, sadly missed!

Her, Judy Collins, and Joni Mitchell sang this song very well.....
Well Joni would...it's her song !!
HER LYRICS
She didn't have an exceptional voice, but there's something intriguing about her.
She has an honesty about her that just comes across in waves when she performs .at least that's what I came up with

czcams.com/video/eBQCIw49Fbc/video.html, it is slow version
Taylor swift carrie underwood ect cannot compete with this
Somethings off with Skeeter. I can see it, she was hurting. Poor thing
I feel like she was a closeted lesbian for Betty Jack. She was never the same after her partners death. Even her hit song, "it's the end of the world" is about her.
She got the lyrics wrong.
She'd add a lot of her own lyrics for fun
I truly think her and Betty Jack were lesbians
And ....why the comment
@holitipu I just feel like their might have been more between them. Skeeter's hit, "End Of The World," was about Betty. I'm assuming 100%, though.
