    So, a year or so on weve read the comments and as this was a joined project (made by two people) during lockdown there was a bit of confusion in the research - one of us was writing about the Lamborghini Aquarama and the other was just writing about the original Riva Aquarama- so some facts may seem false but it’s just confusion of the models, thanks for watching people

    Beautiful clip abotu a wonderful series of boats.. but 750 made with twin Lamborghinis.. ehh no.. that would have been several years of production at that time.. and none left for the cars - from where they derived.. IF i remember correctly the twin Lamborgini.. yes ONE.. was made for.. Ferucio Lamborghini himself.. and restored as can be seen here on youtuvbe some years ago now.. but the Aquarama is in my opinion the most beautiful and elegant boat no matter the engine..a true loved classic :-)

  • @janwillemslager
    @janwillemslager Před 2 lety +3

    The engines were American V8 engines not from Lamborghini. 1 Boat was bought by Lamborghini himself and had 2 Lamborghini V12 engines.

      You are correct - there was a mix up in the research ! Basically the video was made by two of us and one was researching the Lamborghini edition and the other was reading on the original, thanks for watching !

      @@redwinmarine I was already looking for the Aquarama, and being a fan of Top Gear (with Clarkson/ May and Hammond) and the two dvds called The Perfect road trip 1 & 2 where the Aquarama feature in the opening scene, on the waters of Venice.... it finally spurred me to looking. I did Lamborghini cars too, so a boat with 2 lovely sounding V12s is extra appealing to me. Previously I was looking at old videos of the Motor Torpedo Boast (MTBs) and Motor Gun Boats (MGBs) of the WW2 that were used by the Allied Nations.

    Some of this stuff isn’t completely accurate intact all of it is accurate apart from the 10 recorded in the UK because that figure has now gone down since the 90s the statistic you researched is old and is from the Boat Daily magazine published on February 27 1992 since then 3 Of them have been shipped worldwide 2 of which to Italy and one has gone completely off the radar we suspect broken now collecting dust in a garage or barn somewhere but enough of a history lesson fab video pal👍

    Guys, check your facts before talking about legends!!! The video is nice but:
    - The Riva Aquarama "Lamborghini" is a unique piece IN THE WORLD, not just one out of 10
    - It was built in 1968 in SARNICO, not Milan, like all of the riva runabouts
    - It is powered by twin V12 from the Lamborghini 350GT, not V8
    - The hull number is 278, not 774
    - It is not specifically for sale but if you wish to buy it anyway you'll have to start your offer at 2.000.000€, not 650.000
    The video is well made, nice music, good editing, but the facts are all scrambled. If you talk about the Riva ENTIRE history, every fact stated here is not false, but if you wanna talk about the Aquarama "Lamborghini" specifically, it is all wrong...
    Anyway, your editing work is good, keep up the good work, just make more research before posting ;-)

      The price was from a while back however these are UK prices, and there are only 10 Recorded in the UK all of these facts come from an official UK boating magazine these are not our facts but thank you the feedback 😁

      @boatpaging1972 Před 3 lety +1

      I have researched this topic for years and some of the facts are forever changing it’s important to point out that Aqua Power was correct with the hull as that is the correct length so saying it is all wrong is quite a bold statement my blog is Boat Paging if you want to read up on some more facts 👍🇬🇷

    • @xyxyxyxy2552
      @xyxyxyxy2552 Před 3 lety +2

      @@boatpaging1972 OK, interesting point. I'd say that the Lamborghini hull length is open to discussion.
      When you search the web you find all sort of data concerning this length. Some say 8.45m, other say 8.25m, I even found an article from 1969 stating that it was 13 feet long (about 4 meters...). With this kind of more or less correct data, I'm inclined to go back to basics.
      The Lamborghini was ordered in May 1968 as an Aquarama model which is given with a length of 8.02m. When you look at original pictures of this boat, you can easily find the Aquarama logo on the dashboard and the side walls of the boat, so it is safe to say that it was an Aquarama ;-) Only the Aquarama SUPER was constructed with a length of 8.45m, and the SUPER is added to the Aquarama logo on the dashboard and the sidewalls. Knowing that M.Riva gave each and everyone of his boat models a unique identity by choosing a specific name (even if it's just by adding a SUPER or a SPECIAL to the original model. They even made a LUNGO variant of the Aquarama... ), it is also safe to say that the Lamborghini is in fact an Aquarama (not SUPER or SPECIAL) wich is actually 8.02m in length, not 8.45m.
      Carlo Riva made all sorts of customization for his clients but I never saw one so special that he made all new blueprints for it with unique hull dimensions. Every time the plans evolved, a new model was born: Ariston, SUPER Ariston, Florida, SUPER Florida, Tritone, SUPER Tritone, Aquarama, SUPER Aquarama, Aquarama SPECIAL,...
      Carlo Riva was an exceptional engineer because he developed his way to chain manufacture luxury wooden boat and he was able to build his boats in as fast as three months time which is mind blowing for boats with this level of handcrafting and quality ! But chain manufacturing main drawback is that it's not very flexible when it comes to variants and making boat blueprints is a time consuming art form, not just quickly scribbling on a restaurant towel at lunch...
      And YES, I'm a RIVA nerd :-D
      Cheers

      Now here’s the thing...At the ExCel London Boat show that I visited a few years back I managed to see one of these in the flesh so I decided to look back on some of the posters and photos I have of info boards and the boat itself and some of the stuff in this video is about a rebuild which is completely my fault there has only been one rebuilt in the UK and now has two engines from the Hurracan Lamborghini Now the Aquarama was built in Italy but when they come over to the UK some were not maintained well and this caused rotting and just blown engines, so 33% of Aquaramas that have been in the UK have actually had to be rebuilt
