So many people think ALL hose clamps are the Same but as you Showed, they are NOT! The wrong type WILL cut the fuel line. Thank you so much for sharing this Detailed video.
Thank you very much for posting this! It took me about 15-minutes to change it myself after watching your video. And, doing it myself saved at least $200 from the dealer, too.
200 dealer wanted 407 to do fuel pump sounds more like 360 savings. These vids and people doing them are such as service. I like the details for us novice guys too
@@mercedessprinterdiy8556 No problem keep it up videos are getting better and better. I actually found this because Im about to do this on one of my sprinters. We have about 7 of them now so Im starting to do the basic maintenance on them. Ive got brake changes down to about 10 minutes lol Sorry to hear about your trouble with the vessel. Hope they see the video and do something about it.
Just a FYI that fuel filter is also a water seperator, i know you went into it a bit at the end but that's what the drain line coming of it is for, you turn key on but do not start, and crack that line open and let it drain till you get good fuel coming out, and the lift pump will only run for 30 secs with it open then shut off so it may require repeating a few times if excesive amount of water in the system.
Wade White thanks for the reply and yes I do know that that's the water separator when you turn you keuengine ignition on you can turn the valve on and the fuel separator will separate the water diesel
Thank you for your fine videos. Do you have a video on servicing the transmission on my 2014 2.1 4 cyl sprinter or can you suggest one for me. Thanks again, David
David Webb thanks David I'm glad it help you ,i don't have any video on the transmission yet . but from my previous sprinter i changed the transmission oil on my 100000 miles and it was not hard just purchased the oil from amazon and filter and new gasket and it was easy but there is no dip stick for the transmission so you have to make sure you add the right amount of transmission oil thats all. take care and thanks for watching
hairtoo1 thank you for watching, and i know you will love your sprinter, i just order a new one 2017 i should get it by june ,i order this one with a V6 3.0 for more towing power. i will post it wen i get it in july. please keep me updated wen you get yours. thanks for waching my Channel
hairtoo1 yes in the dealers they only have 2016 wen you order one you can build it the way you want it and remembe for 2018 models the front will have a new look but i dont know how it would look so i reather have 2017 now because i know what it looks now.
what engine looks like the 4 cyl ,not the 6 diesel, can you confirm, I am trying to find the proper filter for a 2014 6 cyl diesel if any one know s this please reply or post it will be very helpful thanks
I have a sprinter 2015. I also do my own service. Service B states I'm 1400 miles over even though I have only 29k miles on it. I thought every 20 k service due. I'm in AC business. Don't run truck hard. I have cut all of my service in half. I change oil and oil filter every 10 k. Fuel filter as well. Always buy Mercedes OEM parts for it too. I reset service A when it came up and after I did my own service. Am I over doing it?
the oil and oil filter is great at 10000 miles. but you fuel filter is not needed that soon especially they are not cheap. but you are saving alot by doing it your self, great job
Yeasterday i put gas in a 2018 , diesel Sprinter by mistake . Did almost 3 km to home and right there i recognize a not normal engine shake . Just drain the whole tank now with a pomp. Do u have any experience like that ? What u suggest me to do in advance ?
The fuel filter have a valve that you can open while the keys in the ignition and it will take out fuel from the tank what I would do in your case is at diesel fuel empty yet add more diesel fuel in empty it so you can take all that residue of gasoline also gasoline's likes to vent out and Diesel usually stays in the tank. So sorry that you had to go through this issue Captain but it happens to a lot of people
I just change fuel filter to make sure even though I changed couple weeks ago and i dont think was necessary but still changed. Filled the tank with diesel and everything works fine. The car doesnt have any problem now at all . Just did 100 km after. I really hope to help anyone who will have the same problem. Thanks for your answer bro !!

Were does the end of the drain hose connects to, does it connect to another hose
no in my case it just faces to the ground next to the engine
2:54 that is the water separator drainage hose
The drainage hose is the one that is just hanging out on the side of it pointing down to the floor
Good job
Thanks
Need some light to see next time
Buddy my apologies
What is the interval for changing fuel filter ?
Right of my head I believe is between 30 to 40000 miles
Would it be much different on 2011?
not 100 % sure but is may be very similar 👍

so much more complicated than the duramax. It is just a screw on filter like an oil filter.
