Bayer is one of the new crew SNL performers that just killed everything they touched. One of the most talented and perfectly emotive actors/comedians out there. She's been surrounded by excellent players and fits right in. They use the crap out of her on SNL. Good to hear she has her own Showtime gig. That's how it's supposed to work...
Feel like she barely scratched the surface on SNL, honestly. "Tostinos" is one of the all-time greatest filmed sketch series, just masterpiece level. Love Vanessa!!

It's amazing to me how they just kinda breezed past the fact that she had CHILDHOOD LEUKEMIA! Glad she made it through that and grew up to be such an awesome talent!
She wrote a children’s book based on the experience and talked about it a lot in interviews a few years ago. For that reason (and because the character in the show ends up faking having leukemia as an adult), I think she felt that a serious discussion wasn’t called for.
It’s a talk show, not a drama series
I mean......should they make the entire segment on what was probably a very painful and traumatic moment for her in her childhood? Most interview topics are discussed with guest in advance so if she didn't talk much about it, then it's probably for a reason.
Love her improv skills! Hand her a coffee mug and she immediately starts her sales pitch. A true professional. One of the best to come out of SNL.
She is funny, smart & adorable!!! Yes, I remember watching QVC for a few hours and becoming mesmerized & "caught up" in their world & having a strong desire to buy the items they were demonstrating. "QVC host" could be her back up plan because she's a natural!!!🙂

When I was a kid I managed to convince my Mom to buy me a plasma ball from the Home Shopping Network, and I kept all the shipping labels to impress my friends with the fact that it came from the Home Shopping Channel. They totally were impressed.

QVC is in West Chester, about 45 min-1hr west of Philly. I lived near that studio for almost a decade and at one point worked on the next corner from it at the Y. It's very non-descript.
