Of course Richard lost. Defense is never his strong suit. In this situation it's no surprise he was slowly overwhelmed by the wolf. The wolf combines superb castle design, troop variety, and siege equipment variety. Which Richard not only does not have but lacks the economy, defense, and output to compensate. Once his attempt to counter attack failed he was done.
Wolf greatest advantage againist Richard are his defenses, Richard's Main problem againist Wolf is that Richard uses archers meanwhile Wolf uses Crossbowmen which are clearly way better so Richard gets demolished againist a serious attack from Wolf since armored units receives like 0 damage from archers meanwhile Crossbowmen shreds them.
The unstoppable force meets The Immovable Object funny it really describes how these A.I fight and that show how much effort firefly put into this game forever one of my favorites

I am not a rush player, often use fire balista and balista tower to counter the troops (Siege or the army). Horse Archer to protect my economic (Farm, etc) and crush his. In the late game, just spam trebuchet and horse archer then boom easy win.
AI develop castle as per opponent..! Wolf will make like spider web or 10-12 walls thick castle if his opponent is Saladin or Fredrick.. Otherwise simple single wall castle (Yes placement of his position also matters) like small area given to him then He will not make big castle
No, wolf spending money for workshop, he buy cheap resource then sell workshop item. Wolf can make walls even without stone. I already seen, i make wolf poor and he doesnt need money to rebuild some walls

Offenbar kennt der Algorithmus die Größe der Burgen, denn als ich eine 7v1 Karte getestet habe, hat er am Rand fast immer Micky Maus oder die Dreiecksburg mit den 3 Türmen und in der Mitte manchmal diese Burg gebaut. Jedenfalls hat er die Burgen immer so gewählt, dass sie nie die Hindernisse der Karte berührt haben.
Richards castle always seems to have that little gap in its walls. Not sure what causes it but it might have to do with the map? He had the same problem against Saladin.
Tunnelers cause glitches where the first pieces of walls put on top of collapsed tunnels are lowered to ground height, making them passable. The only way to fix this is to delete the glitched wall and build a new one on top, which the AI never does. A bug that exists since 2002.
True, that absolutely didn't come to my mind, probably cause it's a long time since i've seen the glitch. I guess the problem still stems from the fact that the castles are so close to each other, so Richie uses the tunnelers far too close to his castle. Guess you can't really do anything against that without harming the deathmatch rules.
It's not about distance. It's about a bug in the tunnel logic. To look more like a collapsed tunnel, the terrain is actually lowered (and raised while digging) at runtime. There is, however, no "here was a tunnel" flag in the terrain data, so newly built walls just sink into the ground. It doesn't happen with buildings, though, as they even out the terrain below them when placed. (This evening out can result in blocked passages when placing buildings on slopes.)
This game's AI was wayyyyyyy ahead of its time back in 2002....... now it's 2021 and Steam $60 are coming out with horrible AI, Glitches, and devs on most games are doing games that have Mario graphics or just sticking to mobile apps instead :/
Richard can bring a lot of firepower if he set his castle to the one that looks like a rectangle. There a crusader trail i think the mission where u face off againts 2 richard + 1 wolf with 3000/40000 gold. Give him time and you will see richard full potential
Color is an influential factor for each champion. I think the orange color is more agressive at the beginning of the match, compared to the gray color. Its turn is late game ...
selten so ne krasse wolfsburg gesehen... mehrere separate wälle viel platz im innenhof vier vorratslager... ich dachte anfangs echt das wolfi sich mit der riesenburg übernommen hat gerade weils keine bzw kaum möglichkeiten gibt gold zu verdienen aber diese fette verteidigung... bei dem geringem abstand hätte ich persönlich ne kompakte burg gewählt damit so viele defensivtruppen wie möglich den gegner behaken können aber naja... wolfi ist und bleibt ne bestie. dagegen hat keine ki ne chance wenn wolfi mitmacht und nicht alles abreißt o.ä.
Auch wenn Richard anfangs gut mitgehalten hat, war relativ schnell klar, dass der Wolf das gewinnen wird. Durch diese starke Verteidigung zu dringen ist einfach nicht möglich, bei dem was der Wolf dort an Offensive bzgl. Belagerungsgeräten und Mangen hat und Richard so direkt attakieren kann.

Don't kill him, and watch him gold and stockpile, then destroy/catapult his large wall and leave his castle for a minute, and u will see wolf can build back some of his wall castle even when it very poor condition
@@WolfZet This is the correct way. Disturb his economy and slowly siege his walls down. He's one of the few AI lords you need to put under protracted siege to conquer. If he has good access to wood you're fucked tho. He'll just keep rebuilding.
hmmm you know I played this game for years most of my time on games (with warcraft3 and counter strike) but I almost stop playing it 6 or 7 years ago ... maybe play few time after that this 4 last years I played other games but this last few Months I decide to back into RTS games new or old does not matter but I couldn't get into them because of one smile problem that do not exist in this game...for example northgard is a RTS game from 2017 with a lot of elements from warcraft 3 and stronghold crusader(not castle creating other things) but there is something in this game ...expanding ... you must expand as much as possible and take over all the resources and build everywhere...of course you do that in stronghold too but not like that maybe controlling some spots and after that all is in your hand size of your base and how you defending it so you can put a lot of funny strategic ... i don't know maybe i should search more than i did but I did not succeed to find something similar to this one ... do you have something like this in your mind?? ...or maybe i just reinstall this one ...
Not really, if u consider to destroy him as quickly as possible, bcs, wolf take a very long time to make a very good defended castle and army, if u destroy him quickly enough before he get his advantge, i believe you can defeat wolf easily
Yes! You have to make a bigger group like around 200+ troops to defeat him after being developed and strong..Or if you make 100+ group then atleast you have to deploy atleast 5-6 times of 100+ group continuous to defeat him..I always keep wolf in opposition to make game tough and interesting
Greetings! I know that this comment is year old, and you my already know the answer but perhaps somebody else will be interested with it. The answer is: Map was edited with Hex editor or "CrusaderMapTools" to change the colour of the first player to Blue (which swaps colours between red player and blue). The only thing that remain unaffected by this is portrait's background flag colour (that's why Richard has blue portrait in game despite being red) That's all folks! Have a nice day ;)

Die ist relativ selten, weil sie zu den größeren Burgen gehört. Allerdings habe ich sie beim Testen von Karten schon öfters gesehen.

Yeah but if there was more distance between the castles the tunnels would be nowhere near the castle and thus couldn't obstruct any walls.
