A Christmas vlog from Kerala - Annika loved her gifts!

- It's never too late to post a Christmas video - even if it's almost June! So, last Christmas was a special one for us as Annika was finally of an age where she understood what the festival meant and also helped me in decorations and cooking. It was also our last week in Kerala, so it was quite bitter sweet. Annika was super excited for the whole of December and couldn't wait for opening her gifts. We did try to keep the actual celebrations lowkey considering that we had a lot of packing and moving to do shortly afterwards. We also invited some friends over in the evening with whom Annika was a bit hesitant to share the Christmas cake with :)

My name is Johanna North. I’m a Finnish woman travelling in India since 2016. In 2019 I married my Indian husband and we moved to the state of Kerala in southern India, where we are still living. We will miss payyannur vlogs. As a keralite I enjoy your stay over there. You shifted to mumbai but I knew so late. Last month we shifted to Hyderabad . Still last few days I searched your face in busy mumbai city. Now I can go through nostalgic Mumbai days through your Mumbai vlogs. Watching annika’s milestones , I am recollecting my own kids childhood.

Is the rice porridge similar to the Indian rice kheer??
She definitely has a creative flair about her whichever way she might want to express it in the future! Be it painting, singing, dancing, whatever 😊
And yes, rice porridge is kinda like a very thick kheer. But you’re not supposed to cook the porridge with sugar, but only add sweetening later!
Passing down traditions and values to our children is so very important. Celebrating festivals with family is the best way to enrich the bonds. Annika will definitely cherish all these beautiful moments as she grows up ❤
At least there will always be videos to remind her if she forgets!
Annika has become a responsible big girl now😊 Her speech is so fluent, her gross motor as well as fine motor skills has developed so much and obviously i miss that Little ninja warrior girl sometimes 😅

She’s growing too quickly 😢 it’s not just Kerala we have left behind now, but also her cutest years of development as a baby first and then a small toddler 😭❤️

It's a rather lengthy adjustment period as the difference between living in the middle of Kerala nature and a huge metro like Mumbai is so extreme :)

I haven't been able to film much in Mumbai yet, to be honest. It's been a very challenging exhausting start of the year on so many levels. But there will definitely be a Q&A video and home tour coming up as soon as possible :)

Life is very different here, much more busy. We're still adjusting and hopefully will eventually find a way of happiness and our preferable lifestyle here too :)

Unfortunately the start of this year has been extremely challenging and exhausting on so many different levels that I haven't had even nearly as much time as I would like for video work. But I don't want to leave some of the most wonderful family moments and memories of Annika's growth unedited into videos and not posted on my channel, so I try not to care too much. I have bigger issues with YT currently :D
