It's funny to think that when GTA V came out it was set in the present but now the next gen edition is set in the past just like Vice City or San Andreas

After watching this comparison, I now realize why Rockstar didn't release a trailer and showed very little by actual footage. The changes are soo minimal, it makes it extremely difficult to justify the $20-$40 pricing for this nearly 10 year old game.

Honestly, they should’ve just made a next gen upgrade for RDR2. That I would actually pay the extra $20 for.

You know it’s sad when the most impressive improvement they made was to the glass shatter effects on cars

Maybe the PS6 version will offer a bigger improvement.

For all you people saying it’s worth the money and rockstar did a good job, y’all are part of the problem and why rockstar is allowed to get away with this nonsense. What I don’t understand is if EA or Ubisoft did something like this everyone would hate on them and bash them saying this is hardly a next gen update and could have easily been added for free in a game update but when it’s rockstar suddenly they are given a free pass and praised for barely changing anything. The biggest improvements was glass shards on broken windshields and better smoke effects. I don’t care if it’s in 60fps it’s still not worth it. Rockstar doesn’t care about the fans that made them what they are today, they only care about the younger audience that’s buying shark cards. I got burnt on the GTA definitive edition and what garbage that was so I was waiting to see how this game held up and I’m so glad I waited before I shelled out more money to a game that’s been on three generations of consoles. Also, rockstar never even put up a proper trailer showcasing and providing gameplay for this new “ExPAnDed & eNhANced” which tells me they aren’t as confident as they claim to be. It’s another money gimmick because they know people will buy it because it’s GTA.

I'd pay 50 bucks for a remastered GTA 4 version, no lie. I miss the mechanics in that game in online mode, the character, the shooting (no auto aim), the cars, it felt amazing.

They didn't "improve" the graphics like they say they did. They optimized the game for new consoles, and added some smoke, and glass. Thats about it for "improved" graphics.

    How to make a next-gen remaster -

I can barely tell a difference

Years of graphical enhancements have given us a slight motion blur when traveling fast with a vehicle and slightly tweaked smoke from explosions and fires

Only difference I can tell that is improved, is certain effects, like glass, and fire, and the shadows of buildings reflect more like how they are supposed to be, graphics wise the game looks basically the same, and doesn't really look worth it if you're forced to buy it just to get "next gen" features

The problem with the PS5 version is that the draw distance is exactly the same, and the Anisotropic Filtering has not been increased. When viewing much of the environment in the distance, theres just has a general lack of density and clarity in the textures that you can see in the PC version. The pop-in also seems to be the same.

one really impressive thing about the next-gen versions is that there are no performance/speed differences between players in performance mode and players in fidelity mode.

It could've been a next gen patch done for free, don't see much of a difference apart from better resolution, slightly better effects and 60fps, not worth the 10/20 dollars

Safe to say I won’t be wasting my money on this. Rockstar - stop milking the cow and get on with releasing GTA 6.

I love how rockstar freaked out a couple weeks before releasing and dropped expanded and enhanced, because they realize they expanded nothing and minimally improved the game
