I had this toy as a kid, and played with it for many hours. It occurs to me that some people might want to see the inside of it, to see how the controls were made to coordinate with the indicators using, basically bits of string and a few mechanisms. I remember the back side of it as being pretty interesting.

Yes. I have two, both missing parts and not in very good shape, but they work. Some time I will get a real showpiece...I got these two before eBay! I must have called 30 antique toy stores around the country to find one back then. I got my original one when I was 6. I played with it for hours and hours, in a long closet at home, that was the "fuselage" of the bomber I was in. Or I would shoot the darts at my sisters! My original Jimmy Jet and Deluxe Playmobile we ruined in a house flood when a water pipe broke and flooded the downstairs. Sad day!

I am a little concerned that you made two references in the video about suicide. I myself have suffered from depression, and I would encourage you if you actually are suffering from depression to speak to someone soon.
+Chris Wells No, that is just my foolish sense of humor Chris. I am sorry if it offended or disturbed you. I do not suffer from depression at all, at the most, a lot of silliness and goofiness. I have the best family and fortunately, a few dollars here and there to stoke my passions of toys and cars, and toy cars for that matter. I do hope that you have cleared your hurdles of depression, as I am glad you are a regular viewer and enjoy toys as well. Recently, I have moved things around the place and a lot of stuff that was "way in the back" of my toy room are now in my office and in "rotation". The downside of that is the work, the upside is I am resuscitating a lot of stuff I have had for years and have not done much with . Upcoming episodes will feature the Deluxe Reading Playmobile, Jimmy Jet and others. Also, the Remco Firefox (an ancestor of the Pan Am cockpit), Eldon Bowl-a-Matic and some other really oddball items. Stay tuned!

I relate, I had an uncanny ability to just attract the weird and crazy, I hate it, and at almost 40, it has not gotten any better. :-/. But I love the vid, love the humor, I used to want one quite badly , same for the reading car dashboard, that is almost model quality, the details,...man, I wish kids these days had toys like this, as this type thing is what help develop motor skills and coordination
Would have been neat to have the artificial horizon bar also rise and fall to indicate pitch. Which I think would have been simple enough to implement as part of the direct connection to the bank component. A more sophisticated but tougher to implement function would have airspeed vary as the pitch angle, slowing in a climb and increasing in a dive. Videos where the presenter operates the camera while one-handing the subject matter are quaint. Your humor is cringe-inducing creepiness. Try to engage an internal filter on that, to not blurt out whatever pops into mind. ;)
