Question: are cinder block fences normal in Vegas? If so, what’s the purpose versus a typical wood or metal fence?

@@brooke4259Vegas is like Phoenix except without the gambling!!! We always had cinderblock fences/walls around the backyards - just like James’ - we have ma y many pools and it seems s to be a much better sturdier and safer wall as in Phoenix (probably Vegas) as we had a law that a yard has to be fenced and the pool then had to be fenced. Not sure this answers your question - maybe this might be in Vegas, too.

There's also a bit of satisfaction when I get emails from places trying to dangle money in front of me and I tell them I'm not interested. "You can't buy me!!" haha.

Something for James and anyone who suffers from insomnia. Get your vitamin D3 level checked. I am older than James. I worked decades as a critical care nurse, night shift, hence was mostly awake during the night time. After children crew I was even less outside in the sun. I lived on coffee, could function with just 2-3 hours sleep. But I started feeling increasingly crappy, could not sleep with ANY tricks, felt fuzzy in the head. Finally I got my D vitamin level checked and was not even at half on the minimum required level. I started taking vit. D3 daily. In about 1 month I felt better, started to sleep even 6 hrs a night!
It has been almost life changing. Even if we can function with very little sleep, it is important to take those vitamins we do not get in diet or being out in the sun. The mental status improves greatly if we get sufficient rest and sleep and balance it with activity.
I got my vitamin D3 checked a few years ago, and it was very low. I had to take the high dose for a month, and now I'm on the smaller daily dose. I learned about Vitamin D3 deficiency online and then went to my doctor to get tested for it. I'm so glad I did!!!
@@Suebe1962 I was professional, healthcare was my occupation but still I thought I got enough sun to get vit D. I did exactly the same, took high dose 2 months, now I take just maintenance dose. Nowadays we eat too much processed foods and skip real meals since life is so busy. But to maintain that life effectively, we must check what we eat and knowing when we do not, supplement with essential vitamins.
My rheumatologist had mine checked and I’ve been on it ever since.
@@ItsJustLisa Yes, I am also dealing with autoimmune disease. Hang in there, the pain is bad but I have improved my condition a lot by making sure my dietary intake is correct to condition.

I love watching Barry. Working with Barry Lewis is a bucket list item for me. I watch your channel and his channel. I might watch a few others but mainly just those two.
I have nothing but good things to say about Barry. He just seems like a real guy. Not screaming at the camera or exaggerating who he is.

Your Chihuahua seems so sweet. It's been my experience that Chihuahuas get angry when they get older. You are so lucky. As for music, check out Leonid and Friends. They're a Russian group and they take oldies and remake them authentically and amazingly better.😊
Yeah I've had friends with Chihuahuas and mine doesn't seem to act like the typical breed, perhaps because she's deaf and has had a golden retriever sidekick her entire life. Thanks for the suggestion - I'll check 'em out!

My Chihuahua is camera Shy. She runs every time I pick up my phone. My dachshund loves his picture taken 😂
I wonder if Chihuahuas don't like cameras because they are just so small, and a camera looks huge right up in their face! Dachshunds are photogenic!

Oh! Had no idea you were a Jacksonvillian. Well, howdy from your homeland! We tore down the Jacksonville Landing because we hate good things. However, we are continuing to keep the alligators at bay, so that's something to be thankful for.
I finally got to go back for the first time since the 1970s a couple years ago. It felt much more like a big city than I remembered. Jacksonville will always be special to me.

Math experts have always fascinated me. They think differently than "normal" people, and many times, I wish I had their gift.
I went through a phase of watching a bunch of math videos (which is odd because I hated math in school). If you're interested, search for a "Mandelbrot zoom" video and you can see just how amazing the Mandelbrot set is when it's zoomed into infinitely!

We've had Goldens most of my life. Our current one was very energetic until he was 7. Then he really slowed down. He'll be 14 next month and spends most of his time sleeping, but occasionally tries barking at the squirrels.
I'm sure he's a sweet dog. Bailey does sleep more than she used to, but her energy level is still pretty impressive for her age.

I lived in Vegas over 30 years ago and I loved the desert and the mountains. It's changed too much. I now live in Florida and love the thunderstorms we get.
This year marks 30 years I've been here. I do miss the way it was, but I still like it here. Whenever I go to Florida, I always get good vibes from the weather. Brings back childhood feels for me.
My thought was Hawaii for you. I went to Vegas in the 97...it was pouring rain. I had
broken my leg, so I went there bc I couldn't work. I would love to go back, but I doubt it.

Ah yes, the storms of '97. That was a rainy year. Vegas looks a lot different than it did in 1997! We get something like 300+ days of sunshine a year here, but we do get monsoon rains in the summer and below-freezing temps in the winter.

I have stated this many times to friends that I think GMM is THE best channel on CZcams. It isn't necessarily my favorite, but it is certainly the best in my opinion. If you ever watched my Shark Tank taste tests, I was trying to model those after GMM to some extent.
Visit Aruba (Dutch) - you may not come back! 20 minute shower at 2:15 everyday - temperature the same everyday - no bad storms because of the trade winds, and hardly any use for AC's. 2 miles wide and 9 miles long (if I remember correctly). One side is awesome beaches and the other is sharp and dangerous coral reefs! The largest conversion of salt water to drinking water and some of THEE best pizza on the globe. Thanks for all you do

I really enjoyed this Q & A. I’m also very tempted to get the bed jet. I’m finding that when I lose sleep I’m affected the next day more than when I was younger (I’m 55), so something that will improve my sleep sounds like a winner and worth the investment
Moved from California to Arizona not far from Las Vegas. Same here. Family in CA are the only reason to go back. Love it here. Some family moved here with us others have been thinking about leaving CA. Some family are planning to scope out other states (they want gardens/farms and can't do that in AZ very easily) before leaving CA.
When I lived in California, I always thought the desert would not be a fun place to live, yet here I am 30 years later. I haven't left because I haven't found any place I like better.

James, you left Warner Robins three years before the US Air Force brought me and me family here. Been here ever since. It's not the "small town" it was when you left or when we got here. Don't know if it was called it back then, but it's now called "The International City" because of Robins Air Force Base and the different cultures of people that live here because of the base. Spent time in Phoenix before the military so I know what you mean about living out west. Love your channel and the way you go about reviewing the products. Have bought some of them based on your videos.
I will always have a fondness for WR. When I visited there a few years ago, I saw very few remnants of the small town I remembered, but it was still nice to be there.
I'm with your on living somewhere warm, near a beach. Of course you get bigger bugs, and bigger storms! But probably a reasonable tradeoff to have to not deal with cold and snow
There's always a tradeoff. Here in Vegas, we don't really get mosquitoes or ticks or fleas on our pets. We do get scorpions, though.

The "coolest" pillow I use is the Beautyrest Aquacool, but I don't know if that is still sold. Great pillow if you can find it (and like thinner pillows).

For me going away and the journey is always the best,and arriving back home the least enjoyable part. I live in the south of australia and for a few years spent winter in the north cos i just like the warm and the beaches. Up there its just the wet and the dry and always warm. Nevada sounds a good place.Except you mention the cold sometimes.The Q and A is good.
When I visited Australia, I started in Melbourne - which was pretty cold and wet - and then went to Surfer's Paradise, which was a lot like Miami Beach here. I can definitely see what you're talking about!

Your Ninja reviews have got me saving my Target Rewards earnings for a Foodi. I’m up to $120+.
Every time I shop at Target, the cashiers ask if I want to use my rewards earnings. Nope! Between those and the gift cards I put onto my app wallet, I’ll be buying that Foodi with nothing out of pocket. (And since I live in the birthplace of Target, it’s a regular shopping destination.)

I don't think I've tried a Ninja product that I disliked. I use the Foodi Oven, the Ninja mini chopper, and the Neverstick pan regularly.

I’m 100% with you on warm 12 months of the year. I have no use for winter or crappy weather either. It’s the number 1 thing I hate about living in Kentucky and the number 1 reason I want to move away. I just don’t know where to. I’m from Miami but I don’t know if I’d want to move back there.

That store was in the Galleria Mall in Henderson. There used to be an As Seen on TV store in the Meadows Mall but I don't get to that area of town very often.

America is one of my favorite groups. Listened to my brother’s 8 track in the 70’s. Also I recently listened to Strawberry Letter 23 and forgot what a great song that was.
America had/has such great harmonies and catchy songs. And I sometimes think about buying an old 8-Track for nostalgia purposes! As a bass player, I always loved Louis Johnson from the Brothers Johnson, especially the bass solo in Stomp!

My friends in the Vegas 'burbs say the exact same thing about the sphere (almost verbatim). Also, I really enjoyed @standupmaths take on the structure. Made me think that channel would be a really fun collab for some mechanical or inexplicable miracle product reviews
James, I wont buy any tv product unless youve done a review on it. So far my favorite is the Ninja Frying pan and the foodie oven. although I wish the oven was a little bit taller.
I still use both regularly, and I hear ya on the oven. It's still the best way to warm up pizza or other leftovers.
@Freakinreviews Every Sunday night i make a pizza in it, scratch dough, scratch sauce (usually). I had a buddy cut me a 1/4 inch steel plate to size, preheat @450 for 15 mins, have the dough spread out on a piece of parchment paper, bake for 8 mins, take out, sauce and toppings, put pizza back in directly on steel without the parchment, plate for 8 mins, then switch to broil for 3, and pull it. Sounds complicated but it produces exactly what i want with a pizza, crisped bottom, slightly browned on the top side and baked properly through. I eat half of it, the other half for lunch the next day. Its perfect for pizza at an inexpensive price really for what is out there.
Would love to see a colab with Barry Lewis, but as you say, Barry is here in Merry Old England and you are in Vegas, there is a whole Ocean and entire continent sized country in between.
If he ever visits the States, I'll try to find him!

I’d like to see dog toy comparisons. My young retriever loves a new one called the Pupsicle. For me, it’s strong and cleans easier than others, like Kong, that accommodate strong chewers. Do you have other recommendations?

Bedjet sounds awesome. Too bad I can never afford it. So sleeping with the fan on it is. I love the Ninja Frying pans, but the coating seems, not durable. I've gone through a few of them over a few years already.
Ja i can't justify buying that bedjet. I stay in a mostly cold climate so my electric blanket /mattress cover serves me well
I do wish they could bring the price down and be more affordable to more people.

Exactly. Most of the touristy stuff I see around town is when friends come to visit and I do it with them. Most locals don't say, "Hey I want to go down to the Strip today!" haha.
