Actually GP was a preproduction model of Shaolin with simply GP written on the tail panel. It reached many suzuki dealerships in small numbers, way before Shaolin was launched. I have seen couple of them in ny native place Thodupuzha during my school days. Surprisingly I saw one about 10 years ago in Thodupuzha in a decent condition. It is said that Suzuki took feedback from the owners who bought GP before launching the Shaolin. GP had a vague, random stickering, which was not similar to the original Shaolin. From what I have read from an old auto magazine, Shaolin has a slightly shorter wheelbase, not sure if that is true.
All Suzuki wheel bases were similar as far as I remember. GP was a code name and surprisingly it was called samurai GP initially but good that they changed that name.
When was Shaolin launched officially?

Below are not unique as per part number but the SKU may be different:
First version Shaolin (shogun meter model) front mudguard chrome quality is better than other 100 cc bikes.
Chain cover is heavy gauge (for Shaolin, shogun and some later Samurais)
Kicker Pawl is same as per part number but 100 cc and 110 cc are cast while the one on Shaolin looks like forged and it has some embossed letters.
Rear shock absorber is same as MAX100/R old as per part number but SKU is different as the ones that came on Shogun, Samurai, Shaolin had two small stickers stating " 'Shogun' 'Samurai' "
Many say that the clutch in Shaolin is of better quality (pretty unsure because it is just the vendor (OSEL) that came for later models as the earlier ones were different (KAU), but the stopper plate is different (which was also used in later shoguns).

It's not the kicker pawl; typo error. The embossed part is the kicker bottom which is connected to the kicker shaft. My mistake.
Shaolin came in four iterations:
The shogun meter model came in three iterations.
Version 1:
1a. The magnet is NFP0062 without GP magnet and the exhaust manifold didn't have heat guard.
1b. GP magnet and GP oil pump were introduced as the previous iter was a failure.
1c. The exhaust manifold has got a heat guard similar to the 12 volt AX100R and the non catalyser models of MAX/Samurai.
Version 2:

Upgrade model front fork system
(Horizontal clamping fork slider, fibre mudguard, top yoke with a different clamping - all similar to the upgraded samurai, i.e. the one with fuel gauge).

Shaolin meter's speedo machinery and tacho machinery have different part number than their respective Shogun meter's counterparts.
