And 92 DRob was MVP caliber...but there were still 5 centers on the board. You could've gotten 90% of DRob later. You can't get 90% of KD's scoring.

Agreed. I feel like Brou purposefully took the PGs to spurn Nick, who didn't seem to notice he didn't have one. While Holiday has been inconsistent at times on the offensive side of the ball (more so earlier in his career), his two-way play value is undeniable.

I don't know how you can say point forward Scottie Pippen wouldn't work. It worked pretty well for the 6 time champion Bulls and he also played a decent amount of point for the Dream Team while Stockton was recovering from a broken leg.
Wasn't Scottie a small forward, when the bulls were champ you point didn't they have Kerr, and Harper?
@@claybeezy4356 technically his position was small forward just like Lebron's position has technically been small forward for almost his whole career. for the first 3 championships officially John Paxton and BJ Armstrong were point guards and, as you said, Kerr and Harper for the second 3 peat. But for all the years it was really always Scottie when it came to brining the ball up the court and initiating the offense. It was one of the first things Phil Jackson implemented to get Scottie more involved.
@@claybeezy4356 Kerr was a career bench warmer. He never started in Chicago. His job was to come off the bench and shoot 2 or 3 wide open 3s when Mike got doubled at the elbow. Harper was a 6'6" bulldog defender at guard, but not much of a facilitator.
Pip and Mike would usually take turns bringing the ball up and setting up the offense. In the 91 finals mike averaged 11 assists per game. Later finals had pip doing most of the setup with Mike as the primary gunner.

I'm not done with the video but after hearing Colin and Nick and others wax poetically about how amazing this year's team is and how they're the best ever and out of the top 8 picks the only two from the current team are old man Lebron and Steph??? Credit to those two for being so good at this point but how can we be serious about this current team is better?

PG : Stockton
SG: Jordan
SF: Pippen
PF: Malone
C: Robinson
You get the pick and roll with Stockton and can play inside-outside from Robinson/Malone to the best mid range player ever in MJ!

Let’s not exaggerate the whole ‘Bird was washed up’ situation (due to injuries)! It even gets a bit disrespectful…
For example, Magic was definitely better than Larry at that point, but let’s not forget he hadn’t been playing.. and y’all acting like the gap is huge. In the Olympics, Bird and Magic played the same amount of minutes per, and yet Bird played 8 games to Magic’s 6. And Bird was a shell of his former self due to injuries but he could still show brilliance on the court…
For the 1992 NBA season, in 45 games, Larry still averaged around 20/10/7/1/1 on 47/41/93 shooting splits, still having some incredible impact whenever he got to play. That’s still great stuff.

Jrue Holiday went way too low, I know they went overboard on team comps but I would’ve taken Jrue over Booker Stockton and maybe even Tatum tbh. Other than Jordan, (and calling Pippen a wing), Jrue is the best defensive guard on either team, and he’s a sufficient 3 point shooter. He’s truly the perfect 3nD role player every team wants
Starting 5 is comparable between Nick and Brou, but Brou has a flawless bench. Brou’s whole team fits together really well.

This was fun to watch. That said, a back court of MJ and Pippen would do just fine even though none of them played as a traditional point guard. I think Brou won because he had the best position in the draft. That is, fewest picks between his picks is beneficial because you can adapt.
