This is a wonderful performance. Really, I'm floored by the sheer beauty of it. I looked up the lyrics to La Lloroncita (online) and could not match the Spanish words with the singing. Maybe this English speaker just has a tin ear.
It is a folk song from colonial Veracruz (son jarocho), Mexico, but it is believed it comes from the European dances using the "Romanesca" bass or harmonic sequence, such as Greensleeves, Las Vacas, Las Hachas, Los Ympossibles, Payssanos, etc., and here it is arranged and performed as a Baroque piece. I think it works just fine. It does not sound contrived to me at all.
Espléndida obra y tan espléndidos instrumentistas . Me encanta igualmente la maravillosa y expresiva maestría de los cantantes .

Beautiful and the soloists are impressive!
