  • I've been looking for a good deal on an LP standard for a while and saw this one pop on Musiciansfriend. There weren't any pictures yet, but for the price I was pretty interested. I talked with a rep on the phone and he told me that they didn't think they sold guitars with headstock breaks/repairs, so if this one had a major issue like that they would take it back and pay the shipping. I figured it would have a nice ding or something like that. Lets take a look!
Here's the description of condition 3 "scratch and dent" from their website:
"This gear was returned in good working condition with one or more scratches or dents, typical of an instrument that’s seen normal wear and tear. It’s a great choice if you’re looking for performance and value and can overlook cosmetic flaws."

Thanks for posting, that’s that particular company off my list! Why they cannot be totally transparent when a guitar has a major fault like a headstock break is beyond me, I wonder how many times they will sell it only to have it returned by the buyer when they discover the extent of the “scratch & dent”!😳😳 , that to me normally means a few dings or some wear, buckle rash etc etc not catastrophic damage!

I think at half the price of new it was priced accordingly but they should just be upfront

Notworht 1600 because it says Gibson on that broken headstock. I wouldn't pay more than 300 for it. then I would buy a new neck.

On a side note, why can't this company fix headstock break without it looking like absolute garbage? I've seen video after video of the guitar's chances of a nice fix being ruined by the horrifyingly bad "repair" this company has done on guitars worth thousands of dollars. It's just such a waste of time, money and their customer's appreciation. You can't appreciate this.
