- The Finale Outdoor Region and Cross Country Marathon go together like the Italian Riveira and Gelato! Athletes have undertaken an XCM course littered with singletrack grades similar to those included in Enduro courses in the region throughout previous years, loose dusty corners and soaring temperatures. Racers are facing up to 6 hours in the saddle to navigate this mammoth course so without further ado, let's find out what happened in these race highlights!

This is the real spirit of XC - actually going across an entire region instead of a bunch of laps. Great coverage for a such a long course.

Yeah, it's the most fun type of mountain biking out there. To bad 99% of mtb coverage is all about red-bull, enduro, sessioning, features, and jumps... (stuff 99% of riders will never do...)

Paradoxically, the Marathon riders seem to taking on a way gnarlier, varied course in Finale compared to the vast majority of XCO courses.

I can't get over how stupid the trend is for helmets with no visors. I mean, you always wear clear lenses when you mountain bike (so you can see in the shade/trees). So having a visor is key for when you pop out into the sunny sections. Yet so many morons in this race are either wearing super dark sunglasses (so they are blind in the shade), or they are putting their sunglasses up on their helmets (eliminating 100% of their eye protection). For fucks sake cycling industry, lightweight xc/road helmets with visors. Make it happen.
