The only good thing coming out of the Thomas and Friends series going to shit is that the fandom has really stepped up; and, in my mind, supercedes anything that Mattel could create.
If (big if) Mattel allowed the fandom to produce just one season or special of Thomas and Friends, I truly believe that anything they create would instantly be 10x better than Mattel.
If the fandom was ever given this honor, this music should deserve to represent the fandom's Thomas and Friends soundtrack. It is insanely good. I would give yourself a pat on the back. You have earned it.

@@Kanefan701 Funnily enough I did a drawing of Gordon, Henry and James as clone troopers actually, planning to draw Edward as a wise Jedi sage, I mean come on, Edward would clearly be the Yoda figure. This all stems from Unlucky Tug saying Anakin is the most important character in star wars with Gordon being the most important character in the railway series, so Gordon would clearly be Anakin.
What interpretations would you give the engines if they lived in the star wars universe?

I actually played both the chase from that movie alongside this music, and if you start them both around the same time, the music actually coincides very well with the scene.

A lot of these tracks sound very Alan Silvestri. The part at 0:20 sounds an awful lot like something from the Back to the Future soundtrack. Intentional or not I love it. :)

@Joshua Robertson I got more of a Back to The Future Part 3 "It's Clara (The Train Part 2)" vibe from it. From when the steam engine buffers up to the DeLorean when they go to push the car.
All of us who watched the movie can reach an agreement on this.

The opening gave me strong John Williams vibes- this is such an intense version of an already great theme, I love it.
This actually works in every Quidditch scene in Harry Potter. Now just imagine Edward trying to catch the Snitch from Gordon as a James or Gordon as beater! (Gordon would be a more of a seeker tho, oh and yeah, I used Edward instead of Thomas cuz why not? He's been through with both engines most several times than Thomas)

I think this version of the runaway theme is supposed to invoke a lot of scenarios. The part after 2:05 certainly reminds me of Old Iron somewhat.

I love the classic theses, but when the "DANGER" portion comes in for this one, I can feel the dread of an engine going too fast and likely to come off the rails!

@Zaves Productions totally agree with you here, I wouldn’t want this theme anywhere near S25. But, apparently there’s a new film coming. I’m hoping it ends up being similar to the cancelled film idea from a few years ago
@Zaves Productions There are talks of some producers that are working with the T&F franchise for a new live-action movie. The director is confirmed to be the one who made Christopher Robin, he claimed that he took this project on because he has been a life long fan of T&F. Hopefully, by next year there’ll be more news about it. But hearing it is the director from Christopher Robin, I think it will be a film about the Rev. Wilbert Awdry, Christopher Awdry and the world they created. In short, I think it will make us cry.

"Got him!" he shouted. He pulled the noose tight.
“Gently breaking, Edward’s driver checked the engine’s speed and James’ fireman scrambled across and took control.”

POV: me trying to run from the quiet kid I owed money to
I picture this in a movie where James is out of control with a heavy train of trucks again only with Fuel Tankers, as Thomas and Edward head off to the rescue.
The Fuel Tankers caught fire until, he was almost about to collide into Gordon and the express around the corner, when Edward manages to couple up to the brakevan as Thomas' triumphant theme plays into him tieing the rope on James' buffer (as a homage to Old Iron) which lead him to set his brakes in the nick of time.
Imagine if this as a cinematic chase!
"We've broken away!! We've broken away!!" They giggled.
"Chase him, bump him, throw him off the rails!"
This to me is if Thomas and Friends' soundtrack was produced by Universal Studios

Getting The Empire Strikes Back vibes from this. Would fit just as well over the asteroid belt scenes as it would over Thomas.
James was trying to slow down as he went down the hill, but the trucks refused to let him stop. "On, on, on!" they yelled. James pressed hard on his brakes, only for there to be trouble. His brakes were on fire! "Oh, dear!" James yelled as he rocketed down the track towards a fleeing doe. "I can't stop!" he puffed as he screeched past Tidmouth Sheds, where Thomas was watching. "Poor James... I'd like to teach those trucks a lesson," Thomas muttered.
Unbeknownst to Thomas, James was still unable to stop. "I have to stop! I WANT to stop! Please, I'm begging you! Let me stop!" he shouted at the trucks. But it was too late. James flew off the rails, his black paint grinding against the rocks. Some of the trucks were smashed into smithereens. Luckily, James's driver and fireman got out in time. But poor James would need someone to save him.
A cinematic reimagining of the classic runaway theme. Perfect.

The amazing thing is that - other than the added intro, interludes, and outro - they didn't change much. This directly uses many specific elements of the theme, from the timbre of the instruments right down to the percussion line.
It sounds as if it's 100% composed in Disney style, but in A Close Shave, Old Iron, and Percy Runs Away.
Speaking of that, I have Custom playlists of all Thomas and Friends videos (except ones with trailers involving other shows) that are distributed by Artisan Home Entertainment/BMG Video, and Walt Disney Home Entertainment from 2001 - 2008.
I do plan to re-release Artisan playlists by creating the Pre-Artisan versions and the Disney DVD re-releases.
These playlists have Ringo Starr US Narrations from Seasons 1 & 2 except Everything else.

Your amazing work gave me goose bumps the first time I listened to them playlist in full. As a long time Thomas fan, it was incredible to here songs I’ve heard for 25 years played in band for and so beautifully.
Please continue this on, I’d absolutely love to hear some more TTTE music played in this style. Daisy, Diesel, the Viaduct theme….so many amazing pieces that would incredible in this style.

Thomas was working hard in the yard. He pushed and pulled trucks all day. When he finished his duty he backed into a shed and started to rest. Suddenly a whistle filled the air and Thomas watched as the new engine James shot past him horrifyed. His breaks was on fire and the brakes stopped working.
James: HELP! HELP ME PLEASE! THEY'RE PUSHING ME!
James shrieked, but the trucks pushed him on til he was out of sight.
An alarm went off after.

This is the most intense runway theme I ever seen and heard of there would ever be a live action Thomas and friends movie this would go perfectly with it
If a new theatrical Thomas movie is made, you have to be the composer, or at the very least collab with mike and junior. This is amazing and more people need to hear this
If this doesn’t play in the final battle of Marc Forster’s Thomas Movie, I’m going to be disappointed

VERY OLD TTTE fan here, RS era, but little sound hack here, change the playback speed to 1.10 and just let imagery of Edwards train chasing down a coasting Duck indulge your mind.. Some of the songs just need that extra umph in tempo to really feel extra nostalgic!
