Brusho Techniques - Freestyle Wet-In-Wet Thickener Cockerel

  • Hi. I decided to have another play with Brusho and Brusho Thickener. I played very 'loose' with the paints and really enjoyed it! I used Dr Ph Martin's Bombay India Inks to add some definition. Hope you enjoy it, too! :)
It would help me a lot if you could share my video's as it's obvious with the ones that have been shared that it does make a big difference! (Thank you to who has been helping me in this way! ) If you could share my work it will encourage us to continue to do good quality video production, and share my art in general. Also to do more in depth tutorials to pass on what I'm learning and re-discovering in art, plus more tips and tricks etc. We both put a lot of time and effort (not to mention expense) into wanting to help pass on my experience and to inspire/entertain you and come up with the odd invention too, just for you! So you taking just a minute to share what I'm sharing with you would be very encouraging and appreciated. Being dyslexic, social media sites are way beyond my abilities (and Mick simply doesn't have the time to help with this, too); so you'd be helping enormously if you could share.
    Thanks,
    Take care,
    Joanne.

This looks fantastic! It’s the best painting I’ve ever seen using Brusho. Well done, my dear. You are so talented. Thank you for this tutorial.

Thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately, the ArtyFarty Fairy has since passed on. I'm her partner of the last three decades and I can honestly say she would have been thrilled with your comment.

loved this. Just bought some of the Brusho thickener but wasn't sure how to use it. Now I know! Thank you. from another Lancashire lass, now living in Northampton.

Thank you very much. Joanne (ArtyFarty Fairy) has unfortunately passed away but she would have loved to have known she helped somebody with her artwork. I can't help with the art because I only ever put her videos together. You would have thought I'd have learned something over the last 30 years but I didn't...

Wow, so vibrant. This is the depth of colour I've been looking for and got so frustrated with watercolour pencils and prismacolour wax pencils.
I've purchased a set of 12 Brushos and will approach them from a mixed media/craft perspective. You're the first person that I've seen do a tutorial truly painting with them and none have used the thickener in this way.
You are truly innovative and inspirational and I love your Lancashire accent. Love from Chester UK.

Joanne would have loved this comment. I'm her partner of the last 28yrs and, unfortunately, the Arty Farty Fairy has passed after a fight against cancer. I found this cockerel in her archives lately and it made me think of the YT video. Thank you on her behalf for your kind words.

I’m so sorry that you feel depressed around your birthday and have difficulty sleeping, but am proud of you for being able to bravely voice those feelings. You’re not alone though.I’ve struggled with that and anxiety for over a decade. I did some research though and found some natural things that help, like getting outside in the sun for a while each day, taking a walk if possible or at least moving around in the house, getting proper nutrition, especially the B vitamins and D3, and dimming lights and minimizing screen time at night, laughing by watching comedy, and being around good people who love you, and last, but not least, praying. Hang in there. It can get better.

Joanne has since passed away. I hate to be so blunt but there is no simple way of saying it. I was with her for nearly 30 years - through all the bad times and good, but cancer took her a few months ago. Neither of us saw that coming. The real sad part is that she was feeling much better in herself until fairly recently - walking, fishing, getting out more and enjoying more...then the world came crashing down. I'm leaving her YT channel open for now, so please tell others to watch her videos. Thank you, Mick.

Brusho has mystified me up to today. Thank you for sharing. This helped me to understand about use of the thickener, and also how you tapped in and spread with a brush. You have very much inspired me! Now I wonder, what would happen if salt crystals were added? Thanks again, you have helped me a great deal! ❤

Hi. Thank you so much! I have done a bee eater bird with this technique too and I'm so pleased with it but we can't find the footage. As I enjoyed doing it so much I might do another one to compliment it and show both at the end. Thanks for watching and your lovely comment. Take care. Joanne.

Lovely cockeral... can I ask, did you use the thickener in the concentrate given on the packet, or did you add extra water? I found it very thick and gloopey to work with using the recommended mix. It's a pity there aren't more instructions on the packet telling us how it should be used! Thanks ☺
