- I have a build thread on www.rcsparks.com and on rctruckandconstruction.com but I figure some people have only followed this project on CZcams, so here is the build slide show of Fatbetty.
This project took me about 2 years to build, but having said that I was averaging only about 4 hours a week on it on Saturday afternoons.

Thank you David!
Awesome dude. Great trip down memory lane!
Thanks Greenie! Can't wait to get some running vids done. I had some issues with the speaker plug today, I I think I got it sorted, so hopefully tomorrow we can run it down at the river with the sound unit working.
Great job man, i love that raw metal look. I think i spotted a beer in the background also, lol. I have to transfer my craft skills over to metal. That sheet metal and spot welder look awesome. Seems like you can build a lot of stuff out of that equipment.
hah, yeah, there was many beers had during that build. Sheet metal is a fun material to work with.
excellent job mate !!!
don't know how many times I've been watching ..
+Alptekin Boz Thanks man!

Thank you very much! I've been learning as I go, it's not much different to when I use to make cardboard models as a kid.

It's been awesome to watch the build on RCSparks mate - but it was so cool to see it again! Cheers!

+Mark Bedford Axle 8 hole bead locks, with RC4WD Rock crusher H/T tires, they are pretty much the same as the Proline Flat Iron tires. Build thread here will probably answer most your questions: www.rcsparks.com/forum/threads/project-fatbetty-utility-truck.9298/
Hi, Amazing job, where do I buy this engine, what size chassis and axles, how many engines you use. Thank you.
Nenhuma Kit. As peças são de rc4wd.com
Cool
Good
Thank you.
nice
10kg's of awesome :)
Hi, Impressive, so much skill. May I ask what wood you used for the pick up base?
I used lath strips pulled from an old house with lath and plaster walls.
Hi, first i just want to tell you that the truck you made is fantastic, really good job. If you don`t mind can you tell me where did you buy the axles and the tyres and what scale they are? i am building one now but i am still looking for parts. Thanks.
+Karoly Kovacs Thanks mate. RC4WD axles and tires. You will find infomation about the parts here: czcams.com/video/Qx1fkLmv4EE/video.html

Build thread here: www.rcsparks.com/forum/threads/project-fatbetty-utility-truck.9298/
Awesome build but I can never get past those tires which don't correspond to the style of the truck. Sadly No one really makes them in 1/6th scale.
yeah, I had to go with what I could with the wheel & tire combo.
Estan buenos los videos
Muchas gracias
Off the chain!
Hola amigo en tienda conprastes las llantas las delanteras

Thank you!
Hi, sorry being a pain, just an other question about fatbetty, at the rear axles the flat metal which connects them together, do you have video or templates how you made them, i am having trouble to make one. No idea how to bend the metal or draw the shape. If you could explain it would so big help. Thanks. Charlie
Hi, Try the build thread here: www.rcsparks.com/forum/threads/project-fatbetty-utility-truck.9298/ (page 2 is where that stuff starts)
There may be some more info and photos there, I did not use much in the way of plans just made it up as I went along. The flat bar that connects the 2 axles together and pivots in the center was pie cut then welded back together, a hole drilled at the apex and some 5mm rod ends welded on the ends to connect to the axles.
oh, also, this trailer has a simular set up, it may be helpful: czcams.com/video/6SHayZOw6Fs/video.html
And the 8x8 truck hes a different way to do it, it may also help you out.
czcams.com/play/PLr9OWm93ukLs5MFoPvhUCptlDbuV11NJ-.html
Front axle springs, valve springs ?
yup.
Hi, would you be able to tell me what kind of tin or candy box you used for Fatbetty's front where you keep the sound unit. I am building a similar truck to yours but i just can't find one at all. I love your builds, also did you do anything with wolfspider at all? Thanks. Regards Charlie from UK 🇬🇧
The Wolf spider project is on hold while I knock out the current rat rod builds, but I plan to start on it again once they are done. You will laugh, but, that little tin the sound unit is in that looks like the air filter is actually a lady product packaging (Moxie brand).
Hi, thanks i found some on the internet :) never tought of it, i was looking for candy boxes and creams but not that. Well never too old to learn. Thanks again.
No problem, glad I could help.
Can you prepare one for me
Was this done with a wire fed welding machine?
A MIG welder. Yes.
donde compran esas ruedas???
RC4WD Rock Crusher tires.
Axial 8 hole bead lock rims.
Sir plz effort me new one
what axles did you use
RC4WD wormdrive axles
nice work. what was in the spray bottle....that created the rust effect????
Just salty water. Being a metal body, it just rusted up.
cyanidetube ok, I thought it might be. did you spray it after you painted it...or while the paint was still drying? cause once painted it shouldn't rust that easy, right?
yeah, the metal had already developed a little surface rust while being built. When I painted I did not prep the metal and only gave it a light coat of paint to give a uniform look to the different metals, then 'aged' it again with the salt water to bring out the rusty patina.
You should swap it to a 6x6
did u use a tig weld?
Hi, no this was done using a MIG Welder.
how many hours in build?
It took 2 year doing about 4 or 5 hours a week on Saturdays.
could you make another on
pretty unlikely, this one tool me 2 years to make.
Killer build but had made it 6wd
wow
☺☺☺
