Couple things to add: - Whiffing 4~3 stuns you and does 10 damage to yourself. They removed this starting from Tekken 4, but you can hold down after 4~3 on whiff to get the same stun! - Even with their pushback, ff2, d12 and df12 aren't safe against the whole cast - There's a secret version of ff3 that launches on normal hit, it's ffn3 😉 It does 2 less damage and you get a guaranteed d4 stomp - Doing the just frame uf34 on a blocking opponent makes the second hit unblockable (same for all the hunting hawk variations in the game) - Remember to set the training dummy to "Quick Roll" (either up or down), most of the combos you're doing at the end are not real
It really speaks the utterly lawless badlands that Tekken used to be, that you could be as broken as T3 Heihachi and still not be top 3 in the roster 😂
Everyone was broken in T3. True Ogre, Ogre, Kuma/Panda, Paul, Heihachi , Brian..Dr. B( in the right hands), Gon(in the right hands)..where ALL top Tier broken
Tekken 3 put Heihachi and Paul on another level of fun. Anyway, yeah, the damage of Tekken 3 is so complicated that it can be really hard to lab staple combos and figure out max damage options. You can do seemingly the same combo and get 4 different damage values, ranging A LOT. There are the "Clean hit" cases, but that's not all, distances can affect the damage in all kinds of ways.
I remember heihachi having the Paul death fist and hammer punch animations. But Paul’s death fist had a longer reach and quote me if I’m wrong but Paul’s version did more damage I think! I cannot believe how well and in depth you document the older games and expose how broken they were compared to TKN today!👍🤜🤛❤️
There are lots of things you got wrong. His d+1 does not hit grounded on normal characters. That works only on big characters. Gunjack is considered a big. His f,f+3 and f,f,N+3 are different. f,f+3 causes fallback stun on CH, f,f,N+3 is the same as regular Mishima f,f+3 (knockdown on hit into combo). WGF is not safe. I'm fairly certain that it is barely -10, but it most certainly can be punished by a low jab which is 8f for all characters.
@@sadetwizelve you’re talking about tiers and I’m talking about moves two different topics. You can be a good character but have some moves that are really bad
I'm a big Tekken fan which is my favorite fighting game ever. Just wanted to say thanks for the good content and keeping the legacy of the game alive with this informative and fun info. Salutes from Dominican Republic.
Your content is bite sized and digestible and you present it so interestingly. Also in a niche that not a lot of people are doing. Really great stuff! One of my favorite tekken channels by far
Not to mention if you hold back just as the opponent does a right kick, he automatically does a reversal (which does hurt, but it really hurts your opponent).
thanks for more tekken 3 content just to correct on some things d+1 didnt hit grounded opponents only the big hitbox ones like jack and bears. also df1+2 was absolutely not safe and even launch punishable by some characters like law(jin can punish with ff2)
Tekken 3 was my first tekken as kid. Heihachi defeated me 9 CONSECUTIVE TIMES.. I was a rookie but only King defeated me before. After Heihachi the Ogre round was a JOKE to me.. I defeated him easily.
So so true! I remember him! The standing twin pistons in particular so op and obviously the hellsweeps, the ff2 and on top id that mid electric ⚡ Excellent video as always man 👍👍
Tekken 3 is the only game where Heihachi can do a Demon Uppercut out of the hellsweeps. Guess they thought it was redundant with the existence of the Dragon Uppercut ender. Still a fun option to mess around with, though.
Heihachi's B2 on CH was brutally broken as well. It knocked opps backwards into FFF+ range, it gave you PLENTY of breathing room in a fight, ESPECIALLY during a tight game of Tekken Force
A few omissions/inaccuracies D+1 only hit bigs on the ground in T3. T4 is the first and only game where it hit everyone grounded The first hit of his hellsweep was special mid/special low and could be blocked standing. So while his wgf was mid he didnt have a low to mix it with
I believe d+1 only hits grounded consistently if you've got a large opponent like Jack or True Ogre. It hits alright on the side angles but doesn't really hit medium or small characters if they're lying clean on their feet or head. That said, WGF among other things, does actually hit grounded large opponents. If they don't techroll, f,f+1+2 WGF is a thing.
is this the ps1 version? i noticed the similar stage in tekken tag 1 and tekken tag 2 the school infinite stage i never saw that stage in my ps1 when i was a kid
Do a video on T3 Yoshimitsu. His flash was a true unblockable in that game, had much better range and it could deal like 40 damage. Broken beyond belief lol.
Flash had markedly worse range compared to modern Tekkens, it was i5 however. Other notable stuff Yoshi had in T3 was his DF2, absurd reach (can even punish deathfist at most ranges and only -1 on block), fubuki knee that could be done at i7, disjointed hurtbox on DF4, and MID hitting poison mist. And on a trivial note, Yoshi in T3 also had the coolest side throw in Tekken history. 🗿
Heihachi was not broken, his attacks has more damage & range but movements are slow, some characers has more speed but less range & less damage, some has more damage but less styles , some has more range & speed but less damage.. in my opinion the only broken character in tekken 3 was Paul, he had better range, better damage & better speed.
not even a comparison heihachis side step in tekken 3 covers 3 times more distance than his tekken 7 side step and of course backdash cancel was way better too
did ever think by everybody that we maining our char because it S tear back in the day, Hei in tekken 3 was as shown in the video, compare it to hei T7. still strong but you need more effort to use him. i think usage statistic is true.
Couple things to add:
- Whiffing 4~3 stuns you and does 10 damage to yourself. They removed this starting from Tekken 4, but you can hold down after 4~3 on whiff to get the same stun!
- Even with their pushback, ff2, d12 and df12 aren't safe against the whole cast

- Remember to set the training dummy to "Quick Roll" (either up or down), most of the combos you're doing at the end are not real
Good list.
I might add that I'm 99% certain that d+1 doesnt hit grounded on normal characters.
Dont test ground hits on Jack. :D
